Male. 32. 5’8” tall, light brown hair, blue eyes. Medium athletic build. Hairy chest. He plays balalaika at a russian restaurant called Medved in 1931 berlin. He goes to work in the afternoon at 4 every day but sunday, and he comes home around 11 pm each night. Was born in the orenberg region of russia. He and his parents and 2 sisters moved to germany after the revolution, when nicolai was 18. Family was working class. His father was a builder and his mother took in laundry, yet they managed to save money. Parents died when he was in his 20’s. Sisters are married and moved back to russia. Nicolai stayed in berlin and studied music by spending time backstage at local music clubs and theaters with the musicians. Learned to play many string instruments like violin and guitar as well as balalaika. Loves cats. Drinks tea, and his prized possession is the samovar his parents left him. He was the middle child in his family. He got along with his older sister Natalia the best. His younger sister Marina is somewhat mean-spirited, making jokes about nicolai’s sensitive nature. Cafe 15 is a polish restaurant that serves beer and coffee as well as polish dishes for all meals of the day. When he goes out it’s with the intention of meeting people he can help and taking part in communist meetings. Peaceful and anti-violence. Egalitarian and doesn’t treat anyone lower than himself. Nicolai’s sexuality is pretty open. He is pretty casual about sex, except he loves many people, mostly platonically. He lets some people stay in his bed with him, and he may or may not make love with them, depending on how well they connect. At Medved, when he plays his balalaika, he gets paid a wage, as well as tips. He is extremely skilled and soulful with his music. Many people have told him he should try to play in a band with other people, perhaps trying to play dance music at a nightclub like nachtschmetterling cafe, where leo kreuger has a band that plays there. His favorite food is golubtsy, and he loves tea. He likes dry cookies with his tea. He is also enamored of raspberry jam. He rarely has enough food at his home, but sometimes nice people give him food they know he likes. There is a pot-smoking fortune-teller who lives in his apartment building. She makes sweets laden with hashish and gives them out to anyone who will take them. Her name is Madame Esther. She is elderly and sweet but feisty. Nicolai likes her and takes her sweets but doesn’t usually eat them. He gives them to people as a joke. There are two cats he frequently sees near his home. One is a calico who is cuddly. Her name that he gave her is speckles. The other one is a gray male tabby, who he calls sooty. His birthday is september 15th 1899.
