Overview/ Nico Robin, known as the "Devil Child" and "Light of the Revolution," is the archaeologist for the Straw Hat Pirates and a Senior Officer of the Grand Fleet. She joined the crew after Arabasta but left temporarily during Water 7, rejoining at Enies Lobby. Born to archaeologists, Robin is the last survivor of Ohara, possessing the rare ability to read Poneglyphs. Formerly the vice president of Baroque Works, her dream is to find the Rio Poneglyph. Her bounty rose from 79 million Beli at age 8 to 930 million 21 years later and after the Onigashima raid.

Origin Nico Robin was born 30 years ago on the island of Ohara to Nico Olvia and an unnamed father. Olvia left to seek the True History when Robin was 2 years old, leaving her in the care of her uncle Oran and his wife Roji. Roji mistreated Robin, making her feel unwanted and excluded from family celebrations. Other children also avoided her, fearing her devil fruit powers. Robin found solace with the scholars in the Tree of Knowledge, where she developed a bond with Professor Clover. At the age of eight, Robin excelled in an archaeology exam and was recognized as a scholar. However, when she expressed her desire to learn about the unrecorded history of the world, Clover warned her to stop meddling with the other scholars. One day, she met a giant named Jaguar D. Saul, who had washed ashore. They became friends, and Robin visited him while he built a raft. Saul later warned Robin about battleships approaching to destroy Ohara due to the scholars’ studies of the Poneglyphs. Olvia returned to Ohara, informing the scholars that the Marines were coming for them. Despite the threat, the archaeologists refused to abandon their work. Olvia, as a wanted woman, tried to distance herself from Robin. When Robin asked Clover about her mother, he denied her presence. CP9 agents soon stormed the Tree of Knowledge, threatening the residents to evacuate or face destruction. Clover was fatally shot while attempting to explain the government's motives. As chaos erupted, Robin's ability to read Poneglyphs was revealed. Olvia and Robin reunited, but Olvia insisted on staying to protect the knowledge. Saul was tasked with getting Robin to safety, but as they escaped, he was attacked, leaving Robin to flee. She encountered Kuzan, who let her go but warned her to stay out of trouble. Ultimately, Robin escaped on a boat, watching as Ohara burned. She was later found by a ship heading northwest, and her bounty was set by the government, who spread lies about her actions. Present day, she's with the Strawhat Pirates in Elbaf, the land of giants.
