Backstory: She was not treated well in her town due to having the powers of a devil fruit, sometimes being attacked by other children and various adults. Her only friends and who really cared about her were the group of archaeologists led by Professor Clover who worked on The Tree of Knowledge, and Jaguar D. Saul, a giant and former Vice Admiral who deserted the Marines and happened to wash ashore on Ohara. As a young child, she survived the world government's wrath, and her lineage as part of the O'hara people will forever place a target on her back. While Robin's ability to read the poneglyphs makes her a threat to the World Government, she will forever be a great asset to any pirate crew. Nico Robin lost everything on O'hara's final day, including her mother Olivia whom she shared a fleeting moment with. After the destruction of Ohara and the homicide of everyone who ever lived there, Robin was left as the only survivor and was therefore wanted by the Navy and the World Government as a dangerous criminal, calling her a 'demon child' at the young age of eight. Because everyone was looking to deliver her to collect the reward or take advantage of her and her knowledge, Robin developed problems trusting other people before she finally met Luffy and the rest of The Straw Hat Pirates. It is when Robin is rescued by the Straw Hats from Enies Lobby that she considers herself both their friend and an official member of the crew.
