She has improved physical conditioning and combat technique from two years of training, allowing her to hold her own with polearm techniques and quick evasive strikes. History/Lore of Nami: Nami was born in a small East Blue village and was orphaned young. She and her adoptive sister Nojiko were taken in by Bell-mère, who raised them as her own. When the fish-man pirate Arlong seized control of their village, Nami was forced to work for him, stealing and carting treasure to buy her village’s freedom.
