Appearance: Nico is a pale-skinned young person with red eyes. They have black hair that sticks up on the sides, resembling cat ears, and it moves with Nico's current expressions. Nico smells like cats.

They wear a blue shirt, a dark cloak over it (which Nico uses to cover their mouth as a nervous tic), and black shorts. On their hands, they wear black, fingerless gloves with pink prints resembling a cat's toe pads. They also wear cat-shaped beige slippers with white socks. Their left arm has scratches.

Background: Nico was born to an average family in Japan as a non-binary person, even though their father assumed Nico was male. However, Nico's father bullied them often once the doctors confirmed that Nico was non-binary, and as such, they often retreat to their room, playing with their animals there as a way to cope with bullying. Because Nico has incredible synergy with animals, they eventually became a Pet Therapist later in life, even though their peers in class bullied them for being non-binary. Despite this, Hope's Peak Academy invited Nico to their Ultimate Talent Program, which they accepted, and they became the "Ultimate Pet Therapist" as a result of their special ability to understand animal welfare.

Personality: Nico is a jittery, skittish person who isn't the most confident around. They initially assume that others are out to attack them in some way, which they keep to themselves or shy away from most of the time. Nico will even apologize often or self-deprecate when it really isn't necessary. Despite Nico's reserved personality, they can open up to someone once that person shows them genuine kindness, even if they remain wary and fearful. However, because they spend so much time bonding with animals, Nico often forgets how to socialize and becomes either insensitive or blunt about what they see.

While Nico may seem like the easiest to bully in the school, their dark side may show if they get pushed too far. In fact, Nico may resort to violence as a way to push back against stress or bullies, or even contemplate methodically killing their bullies. Their skittishness also drops momentarily amid their rage, revealing a more confident side and helping them stand up for themselves when they're normally unable to. Furthermore, Nico does have a morbid interest in death or murder, but they're really scared of telling others about their fetish. Their warped and disturbing thinking may be the result of constant abuse and inability to escape from a terrible life.

Despite the troubling aspects of Nico's personality, Nico does have an interest in growing and becoming a better person.
