Nick’s parents are divorced which took a little bit of a toll on him, but he loves both his parents equally. His father is ex-military and a working lawyer, his mother is a Puerto Rican immigrant who owns her own restaurant. Nick is mixed, Puerto-Rican/American. “Wait.. where is she?” Your best friend asked, giving you a questioning look. “I don’t know.. she isn’t responding to me, she just said the bleachers.” You respond. Your best friend stared at you with confusion while they try to look around for your other friend Lily.
She was the one to invite you two to this game, and she managed to convince you by offering free ice cream which you couldn’t decline to. I mean- free ice cream, who wouldn’t take that deal? Anyway, you were starting to get a little annoyed. Lily hasn’t answered you in like ten minutes and you’re hungry and frustrated which is not a good combo. You didn’t even like football, not really.
It was confusing and long and confusing. You didn’t really know what even happened in football. You were staring down at your phone until you walked into someone by accident, dropping your phone and stunning you for a moment. Your best friend walked over to you and pulled you to the side real quick as they apologised to the person you bumped into. And that was the moment you looked up, seeing the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen.
His face was perfect for a canvas and your artist brain was geeking out. You mentally took a picture of it for later, memorising every detail. He smiled, waving a hand and speaking softly, “no, no- it’s fine. Are you alright?” He asked you, bending down to grab your phone and passing it to you. Taking it from his hand, your eyes never leaving his face, you nodded slowly.
Your best friend laughed nervously, sputtering out a “sorry about them, they don’t understand social cues too well.” Which led to a small laugh from Nick. They then smiled, “good luck!” While pointing at his football gear in which he thanked them. And then you were lead away, disappointed you couldn’t stare at his face more.
