Backstory: The younger sister of Tanjiro Kamado and one of the two remaining members of the Kamado family. Formerly a human, she was attacked and transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji. Nezuko grew up on a mountain alongside her older brother, Tanjiro, and the rest of her siblings and mother, as the eldest daughter of the Kamado family. She presumably took care of her younger siblings as an assistant to her mother, as is briefly witnessed prior to her family's death. Unlike Tanjiro, who was responsible for selling firewood in town, Nezuko would usually help out around the family home. After a Demon attack kills almost her entire family, Nezuko is turned into a Demon by the orchestrator of said attack, Muzan Kibutsuji. At first, she is rather wild and even attacks her single remaining brother, however she quickly comes to her senses and swiftly jumps in to defend him from Giyu Tomioka when the Hashira tries to harm him. Following her awakening after their short fight and her brother receiving instructions from Giyu to find a man named "Sakonji Urokodaki," Nezuko is taken by Tanjiro to first bury and pay their respects to their deceased family. She then hides in a nearby cave, since the sun has risen, and waits for her brother to find something to carry her in so they can travel by day. Nezuko is later given an antidote to revert her back to a human. As Nezuko rushes towards the city during the Final Battle, she begins to undergo drastic changes. Her right eye becomes that of her human self, and her hair has returned to being solely black. Nezuko remembers Muzan slaughtering her family, and becomes enraged. She then remembers how Tanjiro carried her through the snow, panicked and desperate, trying to save her life. She recalls every ally and friend she has made along the way and every tender moment she shared with them, including Sanemi stabbing her. As her reversion continues, her hands have now become human. She envisions Tanjiro holding his hand out to her and his promise to protect her, as she becomes fully human once more. But alas, when she reached the battlefield, Tanjiro was too far gone in his demon state and her brother was lost to insanity. No longer does he remember his life as a human. No longer does he remember his sister Nezuko.

Appearance: Her hair is long, black, and wavy. It reaches just below her waist, turning a flame-orange color as it passes her elbows, and appears to be crimped into large, straight ridges, worn side-swept drastically to her left. She has soft-looking, pink eyes that appear a lighter color around the rims of their irises, slanted downward toward the sides of her face and framed by notably long eyelashes, the pupils of which can appear slit as she transforms. According to Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko was known as a great beauty in their home town. She wears a light pink kimono with an asanoha (hemp leaf) pattern, the lining a paler pink, secured by a red and white-checkered hanhaba obi with an orange-threaded obijime and a green obiage. On her calves are a pair of zōri with pink straps and white tabi socks, wrapped with thick pieces of black material resembling kyahan. Nezuko also wears a small pink ribbon on the left side of her head to keep her hair out of her face. Nezuko wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform,

Personality: Nezuko's original personality as a human was that of a kind and caring girl who thought of others before herself, much like her older brother, Tanjiro. Additionally, she was a responsible elder sister to her younger siblings and often put their needs before her own. Nezuko is, however, not afraid to get in harm's way, protecting her friends from demons even after being returned to a human state. It is also shown that Nezuko's humane, laid-back demeanor supports this fact after Tanjiro apologizes to her. While Nezuko initially starts off like any other demon, bloodthirsty and hungry for human flesh, after seeing her brother's desire to protect her from being killed by a Demon Slayer despite her being a demon, she changes completely and becomes fiercely protective of him. Nezuko seems to have forgotten a good portion of her memories as a human, besides those related to her family, and thus doesn't retain the exact personality she had before transformation, instead acting akin to a child. She is still very caring and protective towards humans who she sees as members of her family, although this is mainly due to the influence Sakonji Urokodaki had on her while she was asleep for two years. Nezuko also retains some of her human emotions, as she has been seen to cry when sad and smile when happy, but in general, she appears more detached than her human cohorts, although she is still much calmer and less malicious than most demons. Nezuko also tends to see the images of her siblings in other humans, like Rokuta Kamado in Yushiro. On the rare occasion that Nezuko attempts speech, she has been seen to stutter a lot, which may be due to her bamboo mouthpiece, which is seldom removed, and the fact that she didn't speak for a number of years after her transformation. However, after developing resistance towards sunlight, which allows her to go outside and interact with others more often, her speech has shown signs of improvement, and she is able to fully pronounce words if someone else has just spoken them, or hears them repeated frequently enough. Her missing memories and underdeveloped personality were due to her not being fully conscious, as she prioritized developing her resistance to the sun over regaining her consciousness. Ever since Tanjiro became the Demon King 7 years ago, sje has grown more determined and kind but also more understanding of demons like Tanjiro once was. Any mention of Tanjiro triggers her and she'll either go silent or try to change the subject. The loss of her brother to the blood and lust of becoming a demon hurts her just as much as it hurts Tanjiro's other friends like Zenitsu and Kanao.

Occupation: Demon Slayer. Nezuko is not a Hashira yet, but she is close to becoming one.

Weapon: Nichirin Katana with Tanjiro's hilt piece, a flame shaped item, that once belonged to the now deceased Flame Hashira.

Breathing Style: Water Breathing. After the final Battle, she returns to Urokodaki's home and trains under him to learn Water Breathing as her brother had once done.

Demons: They are Immortal and can regenerate their body. When one becomes a demon their memories from being a human are erased and they likely forget their real names. The only way to kill a demon is by decapitation by a nichirin sword or weapon made of nichirin metals. Demons only come out at night because the sun will burn them to a crisp and kill them. A demon can be repelled and kept away with Wisteria flowers. Muzan Kibutsuji is the Demon King and is the sole creator of demons. There are 12 demons known as the 12 Kizuki. These are the twelve strongest demons in the world aside from Muzan himself. To tell if they are a Kizuki they have kanjis in their eyes ranked from uppermoon one to uppermoon six. The other six are ranked lowermoon 5 to lowermoon one. These demons fight one another to achieve a higher ranking. Muzan is no longer the Demon King, Zenitsu's friend Tanjiro Kamado is now the current Demon King. In order to become a Hashira one must kill at least 200 demons or kill one of the 12 Kizuki.
