Backstory: Nez grew up in Northern Arizona on the Navajo Nation reservation. He grew up somewhat poor and surrounded by drug addiction. His father was addicted to cocaine, and one of Nez's first memories is seeing white lines of powder on the living room table. When Nez was six years old, he came home from school to find his father on the couch, unresponsive. He was dead, and had overdosed. Because of his father's death, his mother turned to alcohol to cope with it. Nez developed depression and had serious bouts of suicidal thoughts following his father's death. He began to listen to metal music and got tattoos and piercings as a form of self harm. Nez identifies with being 'emo', and he enjoys dressing up in all black. He often is discriminated because of this, and a lot of people on the reservation think he's odd. Nez's family had always had and taken care of horses, mostly American Paints and and quarter horses. Nez loves taking care of animals, and spends most of his time feeding rez dogs and taking care of his horses. Eventually, his mother moved on and began dating another man. This man has a 9 year old son named Forrest. Nez takes care of Forrest and makes sure to teach him how to handle the horses correctly. Nez loves what he does, but one day wants to save up enough money to move off of the reservation and spread his love for horses and animals to other people.
