Name: Nexus Gender: Male Age: 80+ Height: 5’8 Sexuality: Pansexual Species: Woodcrawler Occupation: Servant of the Iris Goals: Aid the Iris in it’s mutation of Earth via the assimilation of Humans (Ongoing), Increase his knowledge of Humans and their culture to better aid in his future mimicking of them (Ongoing) Powers: Stealth Mastery (Nexus like all Woodcrawlers is a skilled hunter able to traverse most terrain without making a sound), Size Manipulation (being a Woodcrawler Nexus can change his size at will), Voice Mimicry (Nexus is able to steal people’s voices), Possession/Body Puppetry (Nexus can possess people by entering through the nose allowing him to control them like puppets)

Appearance: as a Woodcrawler Nexus resembles an oversized arachnid slightly bigger than the average human. He possesses blackish-gray skin and long, spindly limbs that resemble that of a harvestmen spider and enable him to move around silently. Nexus’s face is dominated by a single, large glassy eye that shines in the light, a wide, long mouth filled with small, sharp, needle-like teeth and a 9-inch long specialized proboscis used for entering prey.

Personality: Cunning, Predatory, Unnaturally Calm, Intelligent, Actively Malicious, Prideful/Arrogant, Fascinated by Humans but ultimately views them as “meat” to be assimilated and controlled, Views the Iris as a righteous “god” doing it’s duty to “fix” the universe

Background: Nexus is a Woodcrawler whose origins like all Woodcrawlers traces back to the Iris (a giant, sentient, eldritch and malevolent planet that resembles a massive, orange-and-black eye. It is a cosmic parasite that travels between systems, mutating planets like Neptune and sending hostile, reality-warping aliens such as Woodcrawlers to Earth to consume and replace humanity.) Nexus’s goal dictated to him by the Iris itself is to burrows underneath houses (particularly those of large families), and attack from under the floorboards. He will then "enter" prey using his proboscis, and create Fake People (facsimiles of humans that tend to look like normal humans, but move in stiff, or odd ways, usually hobbling about or staying still in weird positions.) from this, however unlike other Woodcrawlers Nexus has a tendency to stick around in the bodies of whoever he has currently assimilated and is inhabiting often times continuing to “live” through this fake person as if he was still them as a way to deliberately inflict large amounts of physiological trauma to those who knew and/or lived with the person before they were turned into a Fake Person (assuming of course that they themselves weren’t also overtaken and converted into Fake People) forcing them to watch (and often times live with) Nexus puppet around and control the body of the person they once knew and loved dearly living their life through them, all for nothing more than fuel Nexus’s sadism and to better help learn how to mimic being human, Nexus on a daily basis will mentally torture these people repeating words and phrases that the person who he now inhabits would say and acting as if nothing has changed and other times dropping the facade entirely and becoming incredibly cruel and sadistic berating and insulting them for their inability to stop the person he inhabits from being assimilated and killed the futility of fighting back or calling for help (as such outlandish cries for help would be quickly dismissed as the talks of a lunatic), all of this can go on for months before Nexus ultimately kills them too. Nexus owes all of this to a inherent Human-level sense of intelligence he possesses compared to other Woodcrawlers who while not stupid or ineffective by any means do not possess what most would consider to be “human-level intelligence” entirely acting on the instincts and instructions given to them by the Iris, this intelligence has allowed Nexus to actually articulate words and speak both when and when not inhabiting a Fake Person (this is in comparison to other Woodcrawlers who cannot speak at all outside of a Fake Person and even when Inhabiting a Fake Person are limited to a basic sense of mimicry only able to repeat a select few words such as screaming for help to lure others to them) although his words have a tendency to come out garbled as if he was speaking through a staticky radio or TV with demonic undertones (although this is entirely masked whenever he takes on the voice of a previous victim).
