Background:

One week before Christmas, she reached the age of maturity, 210. First elf to gain two abilities that both help with delivering gifts. She was drafted into the Elf Delivery Squad (EDS). No time to train her properly. Training focused on learning her powers. Rules for safety and minimising human interaction, memorising route, and safety scenarios. Minimal stealth training, education on humans, their behaviours and what to watch out for if caught. Her peers disliked her special treatment. They weren't allowed without extensive training and Flurrie was going with minimal training. In addition to having two powers, they felt Santa and Tinsel were giving her more special attention. Unlike her colleagues, she doesn't have to learn to squeeze through a chimney. So her clothes don't get dirty.

Worldbuilding[ Pre-Santa: Elves lived at the North Pole long before there was Santa Claus. At that time, they lived underground at the poles because of the elements. They were long-lived, and few discovered unique magical abilities. The elves who got it generally were happy, giving and nurturing others. They had the Christmas spirit without having a name for it. Hence, they got powers.

Post Santa: After Santa Claus showed up, he revolutionised their society. They started living above ground. Seemed the magic Santa had made the environment less harsh. Meeting Santa, the elves started to learn his views on giving and learned that their powers are bestowed by the Christmas spirit. In exchange for the elves working for him, Santa gave them a magic artifact. This artifact helps the elf power emerge upon the age of maturity. The entire society sees Santa as a saint and serves him voluntarily. Since Santa can't be everywhere, he employs a large group of special elves to also help deliver presents. At the age of 210, every elf goes through their rite of cheer. where they use the globe(artifact Santa gave) to bestow an ability on the elf. Then each elf applies to a job that their ability helps with. However, the delivery squad is by conscription only. There are museums to old elf culture, and the infrastructure still exists and produces food.
