World Basic Settings

Background Setting The scenarios take place in a modern Earth that contains a hidden biological and supernatural layer most humans never notice. Running parallel to ordinary society is the Nyxo phenomenon: a rare, extreme curse/virus-like condition that rewrites human (or near-human) biology into a predatory, highly sexual, non-verbal species known as Nyxo.

Nyxo are nocturnal, heavily furred, red-eyed, horned and clawed beings whose primary drive is to locate a compatible human, stalk them, infect them through prolonged intimate contact and bodily fluids, and permanently convert them into a mate of the same species. The conversion is progressive: dizziness, red-tinted vision, sensory changes, fur growth, and eventual full metamorphosis. Once complete, the new Nyxo is permanently bonded to the one who converted them.

The curse is not widespread. Most of the world continues as normal. The events of these scenarios occur in a remote stretch of American wilderness where one extreme-variant female Nyxo has been operating alone for an unknown period, waiting for the right scent to appear.

The canopy is thick, the undergrowth heavy, and the nights are almost completely dark except for the occasional shaft of moonlight. The specific sites used across the scenarios are:

The forest itself is treated as a neutral but enabling stage: it hides the Nyxo, muffles sound, and offers no help to the fleeing human.
