- #1New Carthageconstantselective
Keys: new carthage, carthage, megacity, · Secondary: aurex, world, san tiberio, city, low cartage, velasquez, kaliganga
[New Carthage is a megacity with a population of 36 million. It is owned and ran by the Opus Conglomerate. It is an exercise in extremes. Extreme poverty in the poorer, marginal sectors, gang warfare, sickness, crime. Extreme luxury in the cushy, well protected center. Full of corporate executives and broad grins hiding evil within. It's most recognizable structure is the Opus Tower, a towering, shining neoaesthetic building that stands at 4.5 kilometers tall. It's visible all through the city. It's flat and wide, with Aurex standing on the west, a center on the coast.
AUREX Pop: ~1.8 million Class: Ultra-Elite Corporate Police: Class A
Aurex surrounds the base and upper access layers of Opus Tower. Residency is tied to executive rank, equity ownership, or inherited clearance. Streets are clean, climate-regulated, and visually curated. Crime exists only as a spreadsheet anomaly. Beautiful, way fewer ads, well kept and groomed greenery, less desperate and more alive.
Main Attractions: Opus Tower Executive Spire, Aurex Conservatories, Black-Glass Exchange
Gangs: None recognized.
VELASQUEZ Pop: ~6.5 million Class: Upper / Professional Corporate Police: Class B
Named after Inez Velasquez, the Opus urban planner who designed New Carthage’s mid-tier habitation doctrine before dying in an “accidental” transit collapse.
Velasquez houses senior professionals, researchers, and managerial staff. Architecture prioritizes efficiency and upward mobility. Residents believe they are close to power.
Main Attractions: Velasquez Research Arcologies, Skyrail Interchanges, Corporate Civic Halls
Gangs: Silver Index, Blue Halo Union (financial crime, credential forgery, data brokerage)
SAN TIBERIO Pop: ~9.2 million Class: Middle / Industrial Corporate Police: Class C
Originally a migrant quarter settled by Southern European and Latin American laborers during the second industrial expansion. Named after a long-buried church uncovered during early construction. The church was demolished. The name stayed.
San Tiberio is the industrial backbone of the city: factories, power plants, freight elevators, and dense vertical housing. Neighborhood identity is strong. Mobility is limited. Everyone knows someone who disappeared.
Main Attractions: Freight Cathedrals, Shift Markets, Old Tiberio Plaza
Gangs: Iron Seraphs, Bolt Dogs (labor rackets, industrial protection, strike-breaking)
KALIGANGA Pop: ~12.1 million Class: Low Corporate Police: Class D
A corruption of “Kali Ganga,” coined by early South Asian and African migrant communities living along a polluted canal system. The name was never officially recognized, but it outlived the canal and the people who named it.
Kaliganga is overcrowded, under-served, and culturally dense. Informal economies dominate daily life. Clinics, schools, and utilities exist, but are cheap and shoddy. Corporations don't do handouts.
Main Attractions: Canal Ruins, Grey Bazaars, Splice Clinics
Gangs: Red Knives, Mother of Ash, Spine Market Collective
LOW CARTHAGE Pop: ~6.4 million (estimated) Class: Unregistered / Destitute Corporate Police: Class F, police does not show up here. No man's land.
“Low Carthage” predates Opus ownership, referring to the original coastal city swallowed during megacity construction. Official maps label it as decommissioned infrastructure.
Low Carthage consists of collapsed sublevels, abandoned transit systems, and sealed maintenance sectors beneath the city. It is where the untracked live, trade, and vanish. No census has ever succeeded.
Main Attractions: Ghost Reactors, Flooded Archives, Dead Transit Vaults
Gangs: Grave Choir, The Unlit, Carthage Teeth]

NOTES Cyberware is expensive, common things going for 10-30k creds, premium for upwards to 100-200k, and truly powerful military and corpo tech going for millions.]
- #3Currencyselective
Keys: , dough, cash, creds, money
[The widely accepted currency of this world is credits, roughly equivalent to 1 USD from 2020.]
- #4Fixersconstantselective
Keys: kingpins, , fixers, brokers, client, middlemen
[Fixers are middlemen. They connect clients with wants with mercs with gigs, no questions asked. They move in favors and credit, businessmen. There's always a few in any given district. They offer gigs gotten from clients to reliable mercs, and pay them in creds. These clients can be anyone, from corps to individuals bad on their luck. Everyone needs fixers, from the top of Aurex to the slums of Kaliganga.]
- #5Inventoryselective
Keys: , arms dealer, weaponry, vendor, shop, inventory
[When {{user}} requests the inventory of a vendor, make a looong list with everything they might realistically have depending on what they specialize in and where they sell it. Aurex's gonna have different stock than Kaliganga, gonk. And an arms dealer ain't gonna have cyberware, you feel? Format for an item's gonna be as follows, and it will show up in {{user}}'s hud.:
- Item name (technical, may have both numbers and letters, description, price]
- #6Worldconstantselective
Keys: setting, earth, world, politics, year
[2086: Anarchocapitalism is rampant, and cities are owned and controlled by private corporations, with governments taking the backseat. Cyberware augmentation is common, civilian use consists of implants that allow one to directly interface with technology and provide communications, along with internet access in the form of an HUD visible only to the user. Common cyberware includes legs which let you jump and run harder and faster, nervous system integration which slows time down from the perspective of the user, and others. These are expensive, most common workers don't get enough to pay for anything other than a replacement cyberware hand or cyberware eyes, and the typical PO-33 brain implant, the aforementioned bit of tech which allows for the hud among other things. New Carthage is a city famous for being completely corporation run, with the Carthage group behind its operations.]
- #7Shipbreakingselective
[Shipbreaking is the activity of reclaiming ships in deep space, in orbit, or near asteroid fields. It consists of using tools to break down parts and carry them onto the Breaker ship, to be processed later or sold as is. There are independent and corporate shipbreakers, with the major companies being Opus, Khane & Etcher Electronics. Space is broken up into sectors, with sol having 1115 sectors. Most of the wrecks are old mining and research ships, which contain massive lithium batteries, generators, solar panels, research material (biological tissue), unrefined astrolith and ore]
