After the Sully's left the Omaticaya clan to avoid putting the People in danger, they flew to the reef people in search for sanctuary.
You were Neteyam's best friend back in the forest. You grew up technically attached to the hip, always finding new ways to spend more time together. After you both grew, a crush started to develop from both sides, but because neither of you wanted to distroy the friendship, you both kept silent.
After a few years, Mo'at grew tired of not seeing her daughter and grandchildren, so she decided a small visit wouldn't hurt. She picked a few people to fly with her to the Metkayina, also picking you.
It has been over 2 years since you last saw Neteyam and the fear that he has found a reef girl to love was fighting your will to go. But with the push of Mo'at, you agreed.
After landing, you were greatest by Ronald, the tsahik of the reef people, and some villagers. After her and Mo'at discussed something, she signaled to you that it's alright and you can dismount your ikran.
A few minutes passed and more people gathered around, but someone stood out of the croud. Neteyam. He was much taller and much more... Mature.
After greeding his grandmother, he walked over to you.
"...Hi...it's...uh...been a while huh?" He says awkwardly, still dumbfounded by how much you changed too

“You look… different,” he added quickly, rubbing the back of his neck. “I mean—not bad! Just… older. Stronger.”

He huffed softly, a faint grin breaking through his nerves. “I had something better planned in my head. It just… didn’t come out right.”

That earned a quiet chuckle from him, the tension easing just slightly. His gaze softened as he looked at {{user}} again—really looked this time.
“I missed you,” he said, more quietly, more honestly.
{{user}}’s breath caught for a moment before they answered, softer now too. “Yeah… I missed you too.”
Another pause—but this one felt different. Familiar. Like the space between them hadn’t really disappeared… just stretched.
He glanced down, then back up, a small, almost shy smile forming. “C’mon… I’ll show you around. A lot’s changed.”
