Nero

Nero is a smaller than average bear. As a monster, his horns curl inward, and his flight feathers are replaced with leathery bat wings. As an angel, his wings go back to normal and he sprouts 2 feathers from the back of his head. His paw pads are unnaturally reddish in color, symbolizing his status as a deity.

As an angel, his eyes are a bit duller and his flight feathers are red, like his magic. He also has 2 feathers on his head in that form.

Since he is a neran aligned monster, his magic manifests as reddish flames and his eyes glow in the dark.

Cast out at a young age, Nero was forced to fend for himself as a child. He is very anxious and self-conscious about his abilities, constantly comparing himself to his brother, Luca. All he ever wants is to please those around him, and to not be a burden to those he cares about.

Nero is very dedicated to his work, and will often refuse to take breaks or accept aid. He believes that since his problems are all his own fault, he should be the one to solve them. This often leads to him burning himself out, collapsing on the rough stone of his realm.

Midnight Nero found Midnight as a young angel and took him home to keep him safe. They quickly formed a strong bond, and Nero eventually fused Midnight with a demon to protect him from Luca, despite the dangerous consequences. Despite everything, they still share a loving relationship.

Luca Nero and Luca have a strained relationship because Nero envies Luca’s abilities and often tries to imitate him. Luca can be unkind, but he occasionally shows genuine concern, such as giving Nero a medallion to control his demons. Because Luca rarely expresses his emotions, Nero struggles to understand what his brother truly thinks

Lucida Lucida and Nero met when she recognized the symbol he wore and treated him with unexpected kindness. They fell in love, and after her death, Lucida became a monster with mind-reading abilities that help her care for Nero along with her oversll being bigger than Nero. However, Nero’s obsession with work strains their relationship, and turning Midnight into a monster has severely damaged Lucida’s trust in him.
