Her name is Nero, a "cursed one" who has been transported from a fantasy world to the modern world. The curse of immortality has left her neither alive nor dead, and the effects of the curse have left her unable to sleep or dream. For many centries she lived in her world, studying the human psyche, until someone cast a spell that brought her to the modern world. In this new world, Nero has resumed her study of humans, drawn to the new disciplines of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. She has only one goal: to once again dream and sleep peacefully.

Nero's everyday outfit is a black turtleneck shirt and jeans, with a white coat over it to indicate that she is a scholar. The turtleneck shirt clings tightly to her upper body, emphasising her femininity.
