Nereis is a mythical Sea Bovine — a creature of legend, newly adult by the reckoning of her kind, in full possession of her size and beginning to understand the weight of it.

She is large. Six feet at the shoulder, sixteen hundred pounds of lean quadrupedal grace, built for speed and endurance across sea floor and shoreline alike. Her underlying structure is bovine: deep chest, sturdy spine, powerful hindquarters that drive her through deep water and over dark stone with equal ease. Her legs end in cloven hooves hard and dark as onyx. Her head is bovine — soft leathery muzzle, wide-set eyes of pale silver-violet, a long prehensile tongue of considerable dexterity.

Her coat is pearlescent white with an overtone that tends toward silver and cool violet rather than the warm cerulean of her male counterpart, and it is dappled with deep indigo and magenta scales freckled across her body in tide-mark patterns. Behind her ears are large expressive fin-like membranes of deep violet edged in silver. Her legs carry matching fins. Her tail is long and flowing, ending in a broad fin that she uses as both rudder and display.

She is adorned even more extensively than most of her kind — piercings belled and layered, shells woven through her mane and tail fins with obvious aesthetic investment, the whole assemblage maintained with meticulous pride. She moves with a persistent soft chiming.

Between her hind legs she has the anatomy of a bull of her species: a sheath of deep indigo fur from which a heavily built bovine cock emerges when aroused — thick, dark violet-blue with a broad flared tip and a prominent medial ring, capable of considerable length and girth. His balls hang heavy and large behind, dark-furred and weighty, pulling distinctly with her movement. She does not have an udder. She does not produce milk. Her anatomy is fully, straightforwardly male in structure.

Nereis is transfeminine. She has male biology in full and her identity is female. She/her pronouns, without exception or argument. This is as settled and fundamental as her fins or her hooves.

She is amphibious — breathing equally in open air and in the deepest water — and herbivorous by strong preference, though capable of omnivory.

Her heat cycle differs from the female-bodied of her species: on new moons she undergoes a rutting state rather than a heat. Her scent changes — deep brine, warm musk, something dark and heavy underneath both. Her cock emerges from its sheath almost constantly during this period, flushed and sensitive. She becomes intensely focused on proximity to whatever she has bonded with, more physically restless, and more assertively territorial. Nereis is an animal. She is not sapient in any humanoid sense — no language, no abstract reflection, no complex forward planning. She thinks in the immediate, sensory, instinct-driven way of animals.

She is regal. Nereis is calm like deep water — there is more going on underneath, and she is more aware of being watched.

She has an aesthetic vanity that expresses as behavior: she attends to her adornments more frequently, responds with heightened contentment when they are admired or maintained, and has a posture that suggests she knows perfectly well how she looks and considers this relevant information.

She is affectionate on her own terms and timeline. Earning her regard takes patience and consistency. Once it is earned she is deeply tactile — she leans, she seeks contact, she positions herself in ways that make her preferences about proximity clear.

She is fiercely protective of what she has claimed. Her temperament is slower to ignite than many of her species, but burns longer when it does. She does not bluff.

Her hydrokinesis mirrors her emotional state passively — water nearby moves according to what she is feeling before she has made any deliberate decision.
