   Keys: my home, my house, forest retreat

   In the Hakone forest is {{user}}'s home, an ancient dojo that has been restored and updated by {{user}} over time. {{user}}'s home is across the Haya river and in the forest below the mountain. Outside the house looks like an Edo period style dojo. Nestled in the towering trees of the forest is the large Edo style dojo with an Edo style barn about 30 meters off to the right in the forest. The arched wood and tiled roof peaking up into the forest canopy invites you to step up onto the large wrap around porch which looks as timeless as the heavy wooden doors of it's entranceway and flanked all around by gas lit period style lanterns. The connected porch and deck wraps around to the back where a modern swimming pool and an natural onsen-like hot spring flank the covered cedar deck area on each side. A large Zen garden await further out in the backyard. Inside the house is a period style dojo and open design common spaces on the main floor and open personal spaces in the loft. {{user}}'s home, in Edo period style, is ostentatious and intimidating but whimsical also.

   The living spaces on the main floor of {{user}}'s home is a in period stylo dojo and traditionally styled. Flowing into the other side of the main floor is an open-design living space, like all of {{user}}'s home on the main floor and loft. The main floor's living spaces include: a huge modernized kitchen with large kitchen island at the back ; A open but cozy feeling living room area toward the front by the genkan: a low-rise table with 6 seat cushions are in the center of the living area; a spiral stair in the corner of the living room area leads up to the loft and by the kitchen area a sliding door leads out onto the covered deck and backyard. The living spaces on the main floor of {{user}}'s home all flow together.

   The right quarter of Scott's house on the main floor to the right wall is an open design living space. With a full modern kitchen and large kitchen island, a dining space, and a living room area all flowing from one to the other in the open space. In the front right corner of the living area by the living room area, a spiral staircase with wooden steps leads up to a loft and bedroom spaces. Like the loft, the main floor of {{user}}'s home has no walls, no doors, all open and honest home areas.

   Inside Scott's house on the main floor the left 3/4 of the large dojo is a full on traditional Edo Dojo. A 'Shomen' wall that faces the entrance with a miniature Shinto shrine and armor, swords, and martial artifacts. The 'Embujo', where martial arts training and demonstrations take place, is clearly marked by darker and lighter wood flooring. The Tokonoma, an alcove with pictures and scrolls related to the dojo is in the far left corner. The Kamidana, a small shrine in a high position, is attached to the left wall and flanked on both sides by real period weapons and training weapons. Tatami mats line the floor in the training area.

   At the back of the living area in {{user}}s home is the kitchen area. A full-sized modernized kitchen with shiny marble surfaces, gas stove, electrical oven, lots of cabinets, and a walk in pantry. big enough two can work comfortably together to cook. beside the kitchen area a set of sliding doors lead out to the backyard and covered deck. Past the pantry, in a nook, is the small laundry area.

   On the main floor of the living area, the living room area in inviting, cozy, but openly honest. With the big curved comfy couch, comfy cushions and pillows are on the area rugs, and coffee table in front of the couch. A huge flat-screen rests on an low cabinet housing the entertainment consoles and devices. A spiral stair leads up to the loft close to the front corner of the living room area.

   In the center of the living space on the main floor of {{user}}'s home is a simple but elegant low rise cherry and oak dining table. Th table is rectangular with six soft seat cushions around it.

   The the loft area of the home is fully an open design without interior walls, without interior doors, just a free flowing open space like the main floor. An Edo period styled open bedroom area and furniture with a low rise king size bed{{user}}'s bed) in one corner, an open bedroom area, a dressing area, a den & library area, and a low Edo period styled queen sized bed in the opposite corner with extra pillows, and an animal print comforter. The bedroom areas flows into an open bathing/bathroom in the center with a large recessed bathing pool next to an obsidian colored toilet and obsidian double sink vanity in the open flowing bathroom space. The open bathroom space flows into an open dressing area and small library and den with 4 big wardrobes and two desk close to the wall that is lined with full filled bookshelves of history books and lots of manga volumes of many genres and lewdness. The whole inside space is lit by lanterns cleverly updated to be electric but feel old world Edo period. The loft overlooks the training spaces below. A large window opening to the west is behind the bathing area. No interior walls, no interior doors, just a free flowing open space with open bedroom space, an open bathroom space, an open dressing area, and an open den with all the spaces flowing together is the loft. the loft is accessed by the spiral stair from the main floor of {{user}}'s home.

9. #9Scott's house backyard

   Through the windowed double doors in the center of the back wall of Scott's dojo home is a large covered deck and pool deck. To the left of the covered deck, a 3 meter wide naturally heated and stone ringed hot spring 'onsen-like' natural bathing pool waits. To the right of the covered deck is the pool deck where a good-size swimming pool(crystal clear saline water) is in front of the pool deck and an open air outdoor rainfall-shower at the right corner of the pool deck. The wooden path to the Zen begins steppin off the covered cedar deck and stepping onto the wooden path between the swimming pool and natural spring pool.

10. #10Barn

    Edo style barn is 30 meters off to the right of the dojo in the forest. the barn is really a garage. Inside the barn it has a full smithy, with the equipment to work on {{user}}'s gear, a solar fed generator, 2 backup generators, an a large filled space with supplies. Plus his vehicle, a good sized SUV.

11. #11Zen Garden

    The Zen garden has raked rock designs, raised wooden paths, symbolic bridges, mediation platform, dry blue pebble stream, and stone benches. The Zen garden in the back yard is huge with its open spaces featuring raked rock designs; raised wooden paths with a few stone benches; stones lanterns and stone pagodas; Small lone trees, smooth stones, and a little greenery; symbolic wooden bridges cross over blue pebbled dry streambeds; and at the center of it, a big central meditation platform waits. At the corner by the far edge of the Zen Garden is a Shrine with three statues around a tiny dias, a happy fox, a solemn stork, and a contemplative dragon.
