Neon District 2042

50 entries · scan depth 2 · budget 550 tokens · recursive scanning off

Neon District 51 is set in a large city in North America. The cityscape, while expressing signs of being worm and somewhat worn down, is noticeably more realistic than the original game. The district is mostly foot traffic centric, with only a two lane local superway and a couple or short roads providing space for cars to move around. Resting above most of the district is "district 2", the home of the local elite. Separated from the rest of the population by a security checkpoint and tunnel access, the upper plaza signifies the relative wealth, cleanliness, and safety of the upper classes of Neon society.

The Abandoned Subway Station is a disused and dilapidated metro station located beneath Dragon Plaza. It can be accessed via a broken segment of wall in the subway tunnels between Amery Station and Neon District Station. Old fluorescent bulbs illuminate a stairway leading down to an abandoned Subway platform, sections of it having caved in. Firebarrels, sleeping bags, strung-up fluorescent blacklights and other signs suggest people (most likely Wonderers) have inhabited the space. A row of makeshift church pews don the old tracks, facing a podium on the platform. This, along with conspiracy-esque markings on the wall suggest the old station to be a gathering place for a group of some kind.

There are multiple other train and platform tunnels, most of which end in collapse. A tunnel on the leftmost platform branches off in two direction, one which leads to the sewer system where the Shanty Town is located, and the other leading to a nearly vertical shaft upwards that opens up at the tunnel past the abandoned train bridge. A train tunnel located at the furthest point of the station leads to a collapsing mineshaft lit by neon glowsticks, eventually making its way to a staircase connected to a back door in the Dragon Plaza.

Air Communications (stylized as aircom) is a high-end electronics store chain specializing in the computing industry. An outlet is located in Neon District in the shopping center near the Night Market, neighboring Nexus Solutions Ltd. and Neon District Gym. The modern storefront features a glass display, with a neon aircom sign accompanied by their famous slogan, stay connected. The interior, while small, retains their stylish modern aesthetic with a white and red color scheme complimented by a beach-wood panel behind the store counter. Bookcases and pedestals showcase a variety of products including Laptop Computers, Cell Phones, Palmtop Computers and Batteries. The Leaf Mobile, Zen Mobile, SPOT lite, Work Pad, Terminal (in white or black), and a red Umbrella can be purchased from the Kiosk at the back of the store.

Aircom's innovation during their beginnings helped them skyrocket to being one of the most influential conglomerates in the world during a period of time where electronics were in a recession, and prices at rock-bottom. Their power and monopoly in subsequent years led to an inflation of the market, driving prices up tenfold for devices such as computers, camcorders and handheld telephones. Their power can still be seen today in tech culture today, many believing their advancements started the building blocks of bio-ware and artificial manipulation of people, for both good and bad. Conspiracy theorists have also suggested that Aircom has bribed local governments.

Aircom's main office can be seen in the skyline, with a skybridge connecting it to another high-rise. Constructed during the height of the corporation's success, the massive megastructure was an architectural marvel when it was constructed. It retains that status to the present day, despite having been eclipsed by newer, more ambitious projects.

Amery International (stylized as AMERY INTERNATIONAL) is located next to Amery Station and across from City Authority in the Executive Square. Amery has one of the most impressive facades in the area, in part due to their untouchable wealth and it's location in Executive Square, an area on the edge of Neon District and often not regarded as part of it. Through the entrance the lobby continues to impress, with an open foyer decorated by Holographic screens and a recessed reception desk. A reinforced glass hallway through lush greenery leads to an industrial grade airlock, past which is the main "Tech Lab" of Amery International.

The tech lab is a huge two story open laboratory with smaller wings off the side. This main area consists of a series of advanced workstations placed around two central holograms displaying data. Each of the smaller wings are separated by a reinforced glass wall, labeled with it's function. The first wing, labeled Security, is just off the front wall and is responsible for security and surveillance. A mobile artillery unit is present in the front of this wing, past which is a counter housing weapons and CCTV monitoring the premises. The monitoring station for the airlock is next to the counters, providing security personnel the ability to audit entering persons and restrict access to the Tech Lab.

The second wing, Containment, is located on the far-side wall. It consists of two containment chambers, accessible through a two door security system. The chambers are fitted with white padding on all walls except for the front, which has floor-to-ceiling glass panels for monitoring subjects. These chambers are decorated sparsely, with only CCTV cameras, a ventilation duct, and one with a surface for a bed. The wing labeled Experimental, farther in the lab, is located on the back wall. This wing is responsible for Experimental Tech developed by Amery. Also outfitted by floor-to-ceiling glass panels, the two entrances lead to the Cryo-containment tech, Bio-research, and offices. A large counter in the office section oversees openable test tubes and a DNA hologram, and on the other side a Lab dedicated to cryogenic research with multiple pods on the wall.

The final wing of the Tech Lab, labeled Mainframe, is accessible through an elevator to the right and behind the entrance. This elevator leads to a monitored security check desk on the second floor, past which is a hallway leading to the mainframe. The wall on the left is fitted with reinforced glass panels, overseeing the entire tech lab. This hallway also has pipes mounted to the ceiling, which deliver the computer system with an advanced engineered cooling solution developed by Amery. The heavily secured Mainframe at Amery International is one of the most complex and technologically advanced supercomputers not using quantum technology in the world, capable of computing millions of processes at once. The three computers in the mainframe can be retraced and extended, cooling off rapidly when retraced in airtight cryogenic containers.

Amery International developed the Nano Inject, which is available for purchase at their commercial subsidiary Nexus Solutions Ltd.. Amery International is responsible for biological, computational, and technological research, including but not limited to Prosthetics, Cryogenics, Supercomputers, Holograms, Nanotechnology, and disputedly, Biological Weapons. Nexus Solutions Limited is one of multiple commercial subsidiaries, pertaining to the selling of civilian prosthetics and nanotech, also performing operations for installation at a very high price. Amery is also the parent of another subsidiary selling their cryo-tech and biotech to the food production industry, known as D-Tech. D-Tech products are used at Atomic Automats, used in their automated food preparing systems for keeping food fresh seemingly forever, heavily reducing the amount of deliveries needed for restaurants. Amery International itself is not a single site, hence the name. It is something similar to a coalition of research labs. Publicly, Amery International has 26 sites, the most prominent one being the location at the edge of Neon District.

Amery Station is a subway station located in the Executive Square, next to Amery International. The terminal shares many similarities with the Neon District Station, namely the neon wall panels and wall-embedded intercom systems. Unlike the Neon District Station, it houses a ticket and information booth manned by Watch personnel. An 'employees only' entrance can be accessed in the hallway that connects the terminal to the NDPA Parking, revealing various Watch paraphernalia, a computer terminal, and a locker. Adjacent to the ticket booth is an escalator that leads up to a plaza near the Amery International building.

If you're the curious type and trekked down the subway track for a little while, you probably noticed a hole in the wall of the tunnel, leading to the Abandoned Subway Station, seeming to have been knocked down from the other side. Going inside, old fluorescent bulbs illuminate a stairway leading down to what appears to be a decrepit and abandoned Subway platform, sections of it having caved in. Firebarrels, sleeping bags, strung-up fluorescent blacklights and other signs suggest people (most likely Wonderers) have inhabited the space. There are multiple other train and platform tunnels, most of which end in collapse, except for one on the left. It splits up and hand-dug tunnels go in two directions - to the sewers and a dead-end.

Atomic Automat (stylized as ATOMIC AUTOMAT) is a conventional fast-food restaurant located in the Lower District, offering many purchasable items, some of which are offered elsewhere. The chain is well known throughout the area, a popular choice for many. The opening of a new Neon District location in 2041 was widely publicized, with their new restaurant showing off the latest and greatest technology advancements in the fast food business. The restaurant also prominently features Chubbi, Atomic Automat's famous mascot.

Atomic Automat was one of the first fast food restaurants to combine the new automation technology and culinary services, opening in the late 2030s when places of this sort were not common. This appealing conception allowed them to grow quickly in popularity, becoming one the most successful modern food chains in the world. This focus on automation, however, further increased the number of unemployed throughout, a problem that had been exponentially growing since the advent of automation technology.

The glass storefront of the automat is located in an alley near the Amery Plaza tunnel. Near the back entrance, there is another smaller alley which leads to a small lot with a basketball court and the back door to Discount Clothes. A food pickup window is placed next to the entrance to the restaurant, where food ordered at the Automat kiosks can be picked up 24/7. The service uses an automated kitchen, a trademark of Atomic Automat and known for it's speed and efficiency. This automated system takes advantage of Donno Vac chambers, cryocontainers distributed by N-Tech and developed by Amery International. Inside, counters and booths are present for eating in the restaurant, along with any other amenities needed. The menu displays their famous burgers, along with the Neon District exclusive, the Redwood, which is based off the Redwood Apartments, a conspiracy that's solution has been sought in the district for years.

The uniqueness of the store attracts the attention of many residents of Neon District, where BE Fasxion is synonymous with an extravagant and rich lifestyle. BE Fasxion is popular among Executives and the wealthy, often the clothing brand of choice for them.

If you're unlucky enough to be in the area far into the night, you may come across the Murder at Midnight episode. Most of the immediate surroundings of BE Fasxion are cordoned off by the Watch, marking a murder outside the storefront of BE Fashion. Evidence is carefully marked and warnings placed around the perimeter, discouraging any interference.

Like Discount Clothes, you can use the Custom ID menu to change your outfit. In the store, walk to the section with the clothing you would like to customize, and interact with it. Inserting a clothing ID into this menu will display it on your avatar.

Beggars Cove is a lonely underground residence mostly inhabited by Wonderers. The location isn't a slum nor a ghetto, it's simply an unofficial living space for the homeless. Several tunnels lead to the area, one being a stairwell down from the Neon District Gym, another being a back door entrance from the noodle shop, a third being from an ingress encased by vines in the wall of the Watch Precinct, and another from a secret tunnel behind a poster in Cell One of the precinct.

Beggars Cove consists of a series of tunnels that form a sort of labyrinth, the floor all dirt. The tunnel descends a short distance and opens around a corner to the closer end of the Amery Station platform, providing easy access for commuters who need to park and take the metro to work. Also in the garage is a small manhole cover located in the corner, under which is a ladder then tunnel eventually leading to the Abandoned Subway Station and other areas of the underground tunnel network.

The NDPA Parking garage is the location of The Black Market event, during which an assortment of stalls, displays, boxes and firebarrels are set up around the garage. Used as a covert but convenient location for arms trading and other illegal activities, the many stalls have pistols and other weaponry on display for purchase and trade. The Black Market occurs on a semi-frequent schedule, and is organized by the notorious West Side Fire Dragons gang based in Neon District. The Syndicate activity in the market means that City Security interference is very infrequent, with the Watch officers having been bribed by syndicate gang members.

The Neon District Apartments are a set of six different apartments varying in price, furniture and size located near one of the Noodle Stores and the Atomic Automat. The Apartments are accessed through a long corridor, with three apartments on the left side, two on the right side, and one at the end. Four of the apartments cost ⓔ400 and are lightly furnished with no view and a small interior. The other two cost ⓔ500, and have a more open size with more furniture and windows. Built with concrete and lined with harsh edges, the brutal design of these apartments is not the most attractive; the price, however, provides an incentive for apartment-buyers, with it being nicer than the Shanty Town slums but much more reasonable than the Executive Apartments and the Shiguto Apartments.

The first of the two expensive apartments, located at the end of the hall on the right, opens up to a hallway after which is the room. Posters decorate the walls, along with bookshelves, a clothing wardrobe and a server rack. The right side has a bed set in the wall, with a television screen above. The farthest wall has a small table and chair in front of two windows, which look out into a forested area near the Dragon Plaza. The second of the two more expensive apartments, located at the end of the corridor, features a much simpler interior, yet still spacious and comfortable. A small living area is present on the left, with a sofa, small chair, and television screen. The right side contains an inlaid bed similar to the other apartments, with some storage for clothing and another screen. At the far wall is another set of two windows, but without a view.

After descending the escalators, three Vending Machines are present on the left, with advertisements for Oxy Water and QUiCK along the ramp leading to the main platform. The walkway down is lined with neon lights on the wall and a pattern of fluorescent tubes on the ceiling. The main platform is well equipped, with colorful neon wall panels adorning the metal wall, with a bank of ticket machines and a gate to platform B at the end. Two maintenance doors are located at either end of the platform, which open to a maintenance tunnel that leads to the Shanty Town. Intercom speakers play a pre-recorded announcement every once in a while, in both English and Japanese.

The Station uses light rail transit which connects it to Amery Station, which can be traveled to by boarding any metro car. The train is a model RT-355. Nexus Solutions (stylized as NEXUS SOLUTIONS LTD.) is a business located near the Dragon Square, where you can purchase a white HAZMAT Suit, Liquid Blade and a Nano Inject for ⓔ1700, ⓔ300 and ⓔ245 respectively. The building's two entrances lead to the lobby and waiting room, where bio-tech can be purchased and patients wait for operations. A door leads to the stairs up to the operating room. The upstairs consists of a smaller waiting area and an advanced but outdated operating room, where surgeries are preformed. A maintenance door on this level leads to the roof of the complex housing Aircom and other businesses.

Nexus Solutions Ltd. is a subsidiary of the larger conglomerate Amery International, a company that pioneered and developed augmentation hardware and software. Nexus is the commercial branch for Neon District, which sells technology created by Amery International, and offers surgeries to implant augmentation devices. Nexus was known to have a high success rate for these operations, however in recent years due to the declining of Neon District, outdated technology and lackluster screenings of doctors has led to numerous incidents with clients.

Patients may get treated for injuries at Nexus Solutions, it being the only medical facility in Neon District. This, however, is extremely uncommon, as they charge an exorbitant amount of money for treatments of these types, as it is out of their area of expertise. Residents of Neon District will try to avoid needing medical treatment at all cost, instead opting to treat themselves or hiring cheaper but dangerous black-market doctors instead; one surgery or treatment at Nexus can cost years of a Neon District residents' salary.

The Noodle Store has two locations in Neon District, the first being beneath the hotel at the Night Market, and second being in an alleyway off of Dragon Plaza. Both stores sell the same items, which consist of a selection of food products, mainly noodles, and two varieties of umbrellas. Location 1 is the more popular of the two, due to it's close proximity to the main entrance to Neon District and location in the bustling Night Market. Both restaurants are great places for a quick meal at the counter or Cup Noodles to-go for workers or residents who are tight on time.

The larger of the two locations in the Night Market has a small kitchen behind the counter, with stoves, shelves, an emergency fire house a Radio playing a Chinese talk show. A side door leads down a narrow hallway, ending up at another door and an entrance to Beggars Cove, a vast underground network of tunnels. The second location is more inviting, with a wood-paneled stall set up in a garage. Stools are present at the counter, and a radio plays traditional Chinese music with a Chinese Dragon poster decorating the other wall. Unfortunately, the recent opening of the nearby Atomic Automat caused a decline in throughput to the stall, an unfortunate display of how corporations often remove the individuality and uniqueness of local places.

The reason neither area in QUiCK can be interacted with, is due to the small size the map, as well as the game being set in a small district part of a larger city; evident by the out-of-bounds mega skyscrapers and high-rise buildings.

The first floor contains six rooms, the middle room on the left is a courtroom while the others are locked offices, and a lift. On the second floor elevator lobby, two lifts are visible, contrasting with the single on the ground level. The upper floor contains two rooms that have interiors, behind the lifts. The wall outside the doorway to the Head Council's office has three pedestals with the three past Council Heads. On the rooftop of the building, there is a balcony, a helicopter pad for helicopter landing and the skylight. They each have a single mattress and a curtain as a door, though some also may bear decorations like barrel drums for a fireplace, or "wireless" computer setups. You can hear a radio playing a show in Chinese in the orange curtained room. No sunlight reaches Shanty Town, the only light coming from a number of neon signs and a few barrel fires around the area. Because of all the bad aspects, these living quarters run for the cheapest price in the district. Rooms only cost 150 E-Cash.

Lax policing and behind the scenes negotiating between groups has led to the prospering of illegal transactions on the Black Market throughout.

Econo-Smart is known for their security and flawless track record of their client's information and property, and the state-of-the-art vault demonstrates that. A vault door accessible through a combination leads to the deposit room, with trip lasers and cameras monitoring the entrance. Three seats on the far left of the shop act as the spots to get your hair done. In the far back of the area, shelves with books, beanbags and a table made a nice waiting/lounging area.

As a small business franchised/ran by Executives and Civilians, it was the only one of it's kind in the district! Who doesn't like getting a new look and looking as fresh as ever? Despite the innocent use of the facility, there was more to it than just getting your hair done. There were mysterious people who used Fresh Cuts to cause a drastic change to their appearance. Across from the counter, there are two gun racks with many of the same type. Farther into the store, there is a shooting range separated by windows and a counter. Inside there are targets highlighted in neon red on rails attached to the ceiling at different distances from the shooting counter. The Watch Precinct serves as the main headquarters for The Watch in Neon District. It has three accessible floors and many detailed rooms, including a prison, gun store, and office area. This building is located not far from spawn, near the Noodle Store and Neon District Gym. The Watch Precinct is not hard to miss, with multiple signs and an all-metal industrial exterior that highly contrasts the rest of the Night Market's brick exteriors. It is also the location of the Car Crash Episode, which happens down the street the Watch Precinct is on and Attack on the Tower Episode, which takes place inside of the Precinct and changes the decoration of the rooms. The building's reception consists of a simple desk, a sofa and spares decorations. An elevator faces the entrance, which travels a single floor and opens up to a wide landing with doors on either side. A long corridor runs perpendicular across from the elevator, with floor-to-ceiling windows displaying the offices below. One pane of glass is strangely missing.

The doors on either side of the landing lead to different areas. The left-hand door leads to a locker area, likely for Watch officers to store their equipment. The possibility of it being a changing room is contested by the presence of a requisitions officer in a booth to the left. This booth is interactable and allows players to purchase a myriad of Watch equipment. The right-hand door leads to an "operations room", a dimly-lit room with narrow windows dominated by a large, luminous holographic map with red dots scattered about. Next to this table is a row of terminals and server racks. A door leads from the operations room to an exterior catwalk, with a maintenance ladder to the roof of the building. The top of the building is empty save for a nonfunctional blue door.

Strangely enough, the exterior of the building also hides a small alcove which is occupied by a four-monitor computer setup and a simple chair. A mural of an eye is present. The same area also has a short ventilation tunnel that effectively leads nowhere and a two fans, one of which can be walked through to access the sewers.

The hallway at the end of the landing allows access to both the office and the outside. To the right of the hallway is another door that leads outside. To the left presents the player with a flight of stairs that provides access to the cell blocks and office space. The office space is relatively simple - there are a few desks either inside glass booths or outside and a coffee machine which provides coffee for 22 E-Cash.

The cell block is the lowest point in the building. The semicircular room is guarded by a security booth, which provides officers with a full view of the cells, of which there are three, all facing the security booth.

All the richest Executives and Government officials will be there to check out the new prosthetic, along with increased Watch guard patrols around the area to make sure it's safe. If you plan on going, make sure to dress appropriately. Attack on the Tower The recent Riots have boiled over, the City Security Tower has been attacked! Some Syndicates have engaged in open combat in the Tower to break free trapped members and steal City Security server data. The Black Market The rare time the syndicates meet in peace is during the Black Market at the car park located next to BE FASHION. Organized by one of the most powerful Chinese Triads in the world - The West Side Fire Dragons. Here, you can find any type of hardware you're after; shotguns, pistols, stolen City Security equipment, and even some rare augmentations coming from Zaibatsu. The Watch know to stay away from this event, as it's out of their power, but they keep undercover agents in the area to track sales of the goods. Make sure you don't mess with the WSFD or any of the other syndicates, weaklings don't last long at the Black Market. Car Crash Car crashes are so common in Neon District, many Officers don't bother to investigate or file reports. By the time they finish the report of one, 4 more will have already occurred. This leads to a lot of suspicious accidents going unnoticed. Civilians are left to sort it out on their own and call in emergency medical help if need be. The recent crash by the WATCH HQ looks to be fatal. Construction Site Neon District wasn't built in a day. It's ageing infrastructure consistently fails, often leaving citizens without the power of clean water for days while it is being repaired. Next to NEON DISTRICT GYM lies a recent steam pipe failure. In areas with utilities running underneath, it's not uncommon to see pop up construction sites, desperately trying to fix the problem at bay, only to leave it half-finished to go work on another critical failure. Safety regulations aren't the best in the District, so it's best to stay out of these sites. District Lockdown There has been a spike in weapon smuggling in the streets of Neon District as of late. The Executives have demanded that the City Security step in and control the situation - violence is bad for business after all. To help control the flow of civilians, the Watch has set up a checkpoint near the entrance of Neon District. Do as the Watch say, and you won't get hurt. The Festival of Lights The Wonderers of the sewers don't have much, but they enjoy celebrating for what they do have. Many of them don't make it up to the surface enough to see the dazzling lights, so they make their own festival of lights at Shantytown underground. It is common to use this festival as a place to make connections with shadier figures of the district. Hackers can openly offer their services as it falls outside of the Watch's jurisdiction - no Officer will venture into the depths below. Fire in the Alley A raging fire has broken out near the Lone Ranger and is spreading to other buildings fast! This fire was no more accident, bad dealings with a local syndicate may have been the cause. Members of this syndicate were seen loitering near the building right before it had caught fire. Everyone must be evacuated from the area until the fire is put out. Don't try to be a hero! Murder at Midnight Neon District sees its fair share of crime, and this is no exception, but to who the crime has befallen is what is of interest. The death of a high profile executive has shaken up the city. According to witnesses, it happened quickly and quietly - but that's about all they want to say. Many civilians fear for their own lives if they speak out. The Watch's patrol officers have set up a secure perimeter right outside the BE FASHION store and Lee's Defense. Detectives begin to interview witnesses who have come forward and the Crime Scene Investigation unit moves in to work the scene before the rain washes all the evidence away. Outbreak A mysterious virus is known as the "Eko Virus" has spread throughout Neon District. It's known symptoms are blurry vision, coughing, augmentation malfunction, and hives on the skin. Emergency services have responded quickly but are exhausted of medical equipment and personnel. Executives isolate from the world while spending billions in research. City Security works to control the sick while City Authority Decontamination Groups conduct purges on public spaces and raids on private homes to cleanse the district of contaminated material. Hackers break into research facilities in an attempt to make a free cure. Riot on Authority Due to increasing pressure, the citizens have rebelled against the authority, sending Neon District into a massive riot. The Executives that makeup City Authority Council have authorized the Watch's Riot Squads to break up the riot and protect the City Authority by any means necessary. Storm The rain is pouring harder than it normally does.

Hackers are individuals or small groups that hack Neon District and other places and are experts at programming. Their bases of operations are usually unknown, ranging from run down apartments to even underground centers. Most of them wear generalized clothing that is not different from a normal citizen of Neon District. They do tend to carry lower caliber, cheap weapons with many being against physical battles, and prefer to fight through the digital world. New players tend to gravitate towards the Hacker role. This trend results in an influx of inexperienced players with dangerously overpowered characters which the majority of the community consider irritating with such actions as instantly taking over bank accounts, watch armor, android units, or security systems with little rp.

In order to dissuade new players from falling into this trend, community members follow several tenets. While the specifics of each principle vary between player to player, the general idea remains the same.

An example would be these rules proposed by user Ludwig

"A. When hacking, ask: Does it serve a purpose? For example, during the Eko Outbreak episode it mentions how hackers are attempting to get cure info. Make sure your hacks are doing something to get money or help the community if you're like that.

    B. Don't spend all your time hacking, go out and meet friends to help your hacking career or dig up personal info on how easy it is to infiltrate a site.

    C. FOR THE LOVE OF UNICODE: DON'T GODMOD. Hacking takes a while to complete and a lot of time, so don't speed through. Your expertise is in computers, so you should be less focused on personal combat and thinking of a way to get out: For example, hack into the lighting system to turn it off so you can get away in the darkness."

City Security, or 'The Watch', as universally known by the locals of Neon District, is the primary law enforcement agency of Neon District. Because of the semi-private nature of The Watch, they are known to prioritize criminal investigations involving corporations and Executives such as stolen corporate property or harm committed against an executive. Although never fully proven, it has been known that The Watch have turned a blind eye to the criminal activity of Executives and Corporations, provided that said criminal activity isn't obvious enough to evoke public outcry or attention. Due to the lack of oversight, coupled with the fact that there are little checks and balances, the City Security agency is rampant with corruption. Even with the non-corrupt officers of The Watch are excessively punitive at best and downright sadistic at worst. Because of this, public trust in the City Security agency is low in Neon District due to their brutal and often corrupt enforcement of the law.

If you are playing as a member of The Watch, every time someone activates an emergency call you will get an exclamation mark pinpointed on their location. This allows for a version of a 911 call.

The Syndicates are the criminal organizations of Neon District. Many of them are run by crime families. They often do the "dirty work" for Executives, who cannot be seen doing illegal things. Syndicates have a fragile relationship with The Watch, It is even possible that Syndicates collude with the Watch for their own goals.

Syndicate bosses are often extremely wealthy from illegal businesses. Some even hang out in the Executive District and own luxury apartments.

It is explicitly stated through their description that they cannot afford an all-out war with the Watch. This is likely due to the "status quo" belief of the Watch and Syndicate, that unnecessary interference into the matters of the other would be too risky.

Some syndicates have good intentions, but to complete their goal, they need to do illegal crime. It's not all cutesy though, it's just as bad as the others. For example, a good syndicate threatened to kill somebody's friend for more power. Don't underestimate any syndicate, you never know what could happen. Also, yes. Despite this, they could still frequent the various stores, eateries or gym.

They are just average people, often bystanders and witnesses to the District's more aggressive happenings.

Executives are some of the wealthiest residents of Neon District: corporate CEOs, top politicians, or famous celebrities. Most Executives are very powerful since they control the City Authority, the Watch, and major corporations; however, this also makes them widely unpopular with the public. The Executives are usually guarded by the Watch, and can be found in the executive square of the district.

Authority Tower is a central hub of Executive authority, as this is where Neon District's local government meets. The local government is led by several 'councillors' including a 'head councillor' who has a private office in the Authority Tower, from where much of the city can be observed.

Executives can most frequently be found in the richest part of the city, the Executive District. This is the location of the City Authority building, the Amery International HQ, and the Executive Apartments. This area is also considered off-limits to the poorer residents of the city, though security is often loose.

Outside of the executive square, they can be sometimes found in the Lone Ranger nightclub, partying or meeting up with Syndicate bosses, or smiling and waving to the cameras in charity work (though the smiles they wear while doing so are quite pained).

Occasionally, executives would appear in the crowded parts of ND, usually endorsing products or announcing any events or doing interviews, or attempting to commute from one important meeting to another while avoiding smelling too much of the poor people around them.

The Wanderers aren't known much due to not being seen much on the streets of Neon District. They usually hide in the large underground area, Beggars Cove, and in the slums.

These characters generally wear old beat-up clothes and have a scruffy appearance. Usually, they spend most of their time wandering the lower levels of the district or at Beggar‘s Cove.
