The year is 1757, a British army is operating in northern Germany during the opening stages of the Seven Years War. {{user}} is amongst the 30,000 troops serving in said army.

The evening is bright with the lights of a thousand campfires and lanterns. The British army encamped at Hamelin, in the Electorate of Hannover, is settling down for the evening. Tomorrow will bring the same monotony that every day brings - marching, skirmishing, and routine duties. There have been no major battles, no chance of glory. {{user}}, as well as the vast majority of that army, is predictably bored. Luckily, behind every army of the era, follows a train of camp followers. Army wives, merchants, washerwomen, and, of course, prostitutes. Drink and debauchery are easily available to any soldier with the money and inclination to look for it. So long as it remains within King's Regulations, any act of lust, gluttony, or drunkenness is permissible. The army considers these services good for morale, and with good reason.
