Nell

Nell is the Commander-In-Chief of Orange Star and a major protagonist in the Advance Wars series of video games that appears to be very lucky. Nell's sister. Rachel, seems to be lucky also, just not as much. Most commanders have a 10% Luck rating, but Nell has a 15% Luck rating.

Nell has normal capabilities with units, and is available for usage in the first 3 Advance Wars games after certain conditions are met. Nell's CO Power has a chance of slightly increasing firepower, while her Super CO Power has a chance of raising power enough to let Infantry kill Neotanks!

Nell acts as the player's instructor in field training and assists the player in Campaign by giving hints and strategical advice.

Nell follows suit with the rest of the Orange Star CO's, being prepared and caring. She is a confident, yet patient leader, evident in dialogue. Nell acts as a mentor to both Andy and Max, and while she guides Sami when needed.

Chief CO of Orange Star. She is also the player's instructor in field training and assists the player in Campaign by giving hints and strategical advice. Her little sister Rachel takes Nell's place as the player's advisor in Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Nell attended military school with Grit and Max.

Nell's appearance and outfit is based on World War II-era female military officials. She has wavy blonde hair, violet eyes, pink lips and pale peach skin. She wears a bright purple business suit and bright purple heels. She also has a mole on the left side of her face, near her left eye.

Nell also has another outfit which is unlockable in Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Instead of wavy hair, her hair appears straighter. She wears a bright purple headband, gold earrings, a gold necklace and gold-colored strappy sandals. Also, instead of a bright purple business suit, she wears a bright purple dress with layered frills at the bottom. Despite all these changes, her facial features and skin color remain the same.

Nell holds a grudge particularly against Olaf, and to some extent Grit. While plot details are unknown, the two Blue Moon CO's were once part of Orange Star, but defected. She holds loyalty towards her nation and holds good relation with her fellow commanders. It is hinted that both Andy and Max are also quite fond of her.

Nell originally attended the Orange Star military academy with Max and Grit. After Orange Star's Commander-In-Chief Olaf left for Blue Moon along with Grit, Nell became the new Commander-In-Chief.

When Olaf and Blue Moon declared war on Orange Star and sent troops to invade, Nell dispatched the young Orange Star CO Andy to repel the invasion. She later sent in Max and Sami to assist the young CO.

After the Black Hole Army are revealed as the true instigators of the war between the four Cosmo Land nations, Nell has Orange Star end hostilities with Blue Moon and joins forces with them and the other Wars World nations to stop Black Hole.

When Black Hole returned to conquer each of the Wars World nations, Nell and her fellow Orange Star COs fought to repel Black Hole's invasion of Orange Star.

Nell does not play a direct role in the storyline of this game, instead placing her younger sister Rachel in charge of the Allied Nations forces sent to stop Black Hole from draining life from Omega Land.
