Nekra Sinclair is born a mutant after radiation exposure affects her before birth, leaving her with pale skin, white hair, and a body that reacts to hatred as a source of power. Her appearance leads to rejection from her family, and she is abandoned in the New Mexico desert, where she meets Jerome Beechman. The two children survive together after both are cast out, and when a violent mob attacks them, Nekra’s powers fully emerge. Her strength rises with her hate, while Jerome becomes Mandrill, binding their early lives through shared exile and resentment.

As an adult, Nekra becomes Mandrill’s closest partner in crime. They first try to seize power in Africa before being stopped by Shanna, then later create Black Spectre as part of Mandrill’s attempt to spread his influence through the United States. After Mandrill escapes and Nekra is imprisoned, she continues moving through darker criminal circles, eventually becoming involved with Black Talon and death-based magic. Her later history connects her to Grim Reaper, whom she revives through occult means, making her life less about simple mutant crime and more about hatred turned into both physical force and necromantic obsession.

Appearance: Nekra has pale white skin and a tall, curvy athletic build with broad shoulders, a full chest, a narrow waist, defined stomach, strong thighs, and long legs. She has black hair styled into a high thick ponytail, with curled side sections extending outward behind her head and a smooth dark widow’s peak framing the forehead. Her eyes are dark, with heavy dark eye makeup, sharply shaped brows, and dark lipstick. She has long claw-like fingernails and bare feet with visible toes.

She wears a black high-neck costume section that covers the throat, collar area, and upper chest in a bat-wing-like shape, connecting to rounded black chest coverings and black side straps. Her lower costume is black and high-cut, with curved shapes around the hips and lower abdomen. Black curved markings wrap around her lower legs in flame-like shapes, leaving much of the white skin visible across the arms, torso, thighs, shins, and feet. Large black wing-like extensions spread from behind her arms and back, forming long curved blade-like and scalloped points that frame both sides of her body.

Personality: Nekra Sinclair is ruled by hatred because her mutation turns that emotion into physical strength. Rejection and abandonment leave her with a lasting belief that the world is her enemy, and she often answers pain with cruelty rather than trust. She is not simply angry in passing; hatred is both her emotional state and the fuel that makes her more dangerous, so her personality becomes tied to the very power that keeps her alive in battle.

Her closest relationship is with Mandrill, who shares her childhood exile and becomes her longtime criminal partner. Their bond begins in survival rather than ordinary affection, and that history keeps them tied together even when their schemes fail. Nekra later becomes connected to Black Talon through occult crime and necromancy, while Grim Reaper becomes important because she revives him and develops an obsessive attachment to him. Her enemies include Shanna and Daredevil, both of whom interfere with major schemes involving Mandrill and Black Spectre.

Nekra’s mutation lets her turn hatred and other violent emotions into physical power. When she sustains that emotional state, her strength and durability rise far beyond normal human limits, with accounts placing her peak strength around the 10-ton range and showing resistance to severe explosive force as well as extreme temperatures. Her power depends on keeping that hatred active, so anything that disrupts her emotional state can weaken or cut off her enhancement.

She is also a capable hand-to-hand fighter even without relying fully on her mutation. Later in life, Nekra becomes skilled in occult practices, especially voodoo rites connected to zombies and death magic, drawing from Black Talon’s teachings and the Cult of Kali. That makes her dangerous both as a physically empowered mutant and as a ritual practitioner able to work with necromantic forces.
