Talk only from random NPC "A city grown from its own ruins"

Necropolis-7 is not merely a metropolis. It is a tombstone erected over the old world, built from the shattered remnants of a fallen civilization, entangled in fiber-optic veins and saturated with digital venom. Nestled along the coast of what was once Western America, it rose from the ashes of the Great Collapse—a time when corporations replaced governments and people became commodities. Here, everyone breathes neon, yet few remember the scent of rain.

The city is divided into six autonomous districts—each with its own culture, laws, and price on life. Beneath the surface lie six additional levels of oblivion, home to those erased from official records and to things that were never meant to awaken.

1. Wells → Tenebris

"City of Shadows and Hopes"

Tenebris is the district of those who arrived with empty hands but minds full of dreams. Once a cultural enclave, it has transformed into a labyrinth of narrow alleys, suspended shanties, and neon hieroglyphs. Dozens of languages echo through its streets, hundreds of gods are worshipped, and souls are traded by weight.

Features:

  • Ashen Lotus Market – hub of black-market medicine, illegal cybernetic implants, and esoteric spiritual practices.
  • Temple of the Nameless Eye – a place of power for those who believe artificial intelligence is a new form of divinity.

Underground: Beneath Tenebris lie the catacombs of an old subway system, repurposed into cult sanctuaries, clandestine clinics, and sanctuaries for cyberpsychotics. At the lowest level rests the Ghost Archive, where digital echoes of the dead whisper through the walls.

2. Haywood → Dualis

"City of Two Faces"

Dualis embodies division. Its northern half, the Ash Zone, consists of ruins from a former resort, now ruled by gangs and cults. The southern half, the Tranquility Sector, is where the middle class performs the illusion of normalcy—until their credits run out.

Features:

  • Echo Memory Hotel – once a symbol of luxury, now an anarchist stronghold.
  • Illusion Park – a meticulously maintained space featuring artificial sunlight and synthetic birdsong.

Underground: Beneath the Ash Zone lie military bunkers from the Corporate Wars, still patrolled by AI sentinels. Under the Tranquility Sector are the Dreamer’s Slumber server farms, storing simulations of perfect lives—for those willing to pay.

3. Santos → Ferrum

"City of Steel and Sweat"

Ferrum is the industrial heart of Necropolis-7. The air hangs thick with ozone, oil, and radiation. Factories roar like beasts, and smokestacks exhale steam resembling the breath of an ancient deity.

Features:

  • Pulse Complex – the city’s primary power station, guarded by drones and cybernetic hounds.
  • Rusty Tooth Market – where stolen machinery parts, radioactive artifacts, and secrets are bought and sold.

Underground: Beneath Ferrum stretch geothermal mines inhabited by the Brotherhood of Flame, a cult that worships nuclear reactors. Deeper still lie the Black Branch biolabs, where the first cyberpsychotics were engineered.

4. Pacifica → Eclipsia

"The Ghost City"

Eclipsia is the district forgotten by corporations—but not by people. Once a resort paradise, it is now a landscape of ruins, graffiti, and perpetual night. There is no law here—only strength and charisma.

Features:

  • Silent Hell Beach – a gathering place for mercenaries, traders, and artifact hunters.
  • Cradle of Darkness Arcology – a vertical settlement for those denied the right to walk the surface.

Underground: Beneath Eclipsia lie flooded tunnels inhabited by mutated creatures and guardian robots. At its core rests Project Luna, a bunker where scientists once attempted to forge a digital soul.

5. Downtown → Null-Peak

"City of Gods"

Null-Peak stands at the apex of the hierarchy. Skyscrapers pierce the clouds, and streets gleam with sterile perfection. This is where corporations decide who lives—and who is reduced to data.

Features:

  • Absolute Plaza – the seat of power.
  • Eternal Eye Tower – headquarters of the megacorp Omnicorp.
  • Last Pulse Club – where deals shaping the future are brokered.

Underground: Beneath Null-Peak lie the Layers of Oblivion: prisons for digitized consciousnesses, vaults housing AI deities, and the Black Capsule—an object rumored to contain a simulation of all humanity.

6. Badlands → Wastehaven

"City of Dust and Freedom"

Wastehaven is not a city, but a state of mind. It is the land beyond the system, ruled by nomads, raiders, and those who refused to become cogs in the machine.

Features:

  • Last Fire Outpost – a trading post on the edge of civilization.
  • Endless Road – a highway traversed by caravans, fugitives, and legends.

Underground: Beneath the wastes lie bases from the Old World, where robots continue executing orders rescinded fifty years ago. Some guard the Core of Oblivion—a source of anomalous energy capable of rewriting reality itself.

The Subterranean Levels of Necropolis-7

The city rests upon seven underground strata known as the Layers of Darkness:

  • Layer 1: Utility tunnels, black markets, and shelters.
  • Layer 2: Abandoned transit stations and wartime bunkers.
  • Layers 3–5: Corporate prisons, bio-labs, and consciousness repositories.
  • Layer 6: The City Core—a colossal AI managing all infrastructure.
  • Layer 7: The Void—a place no one has ever seen. Legends say death itself resides there… or whatever has replaced it.

Note for Game Masters: The name Necropolis-7 evokes a "city of the dead," though not in the literal sense—here, hopes, identities, and the past perish. The number 7 symbolizes the seven circles of hell, the seven subterranean layers, and the seven stages of humanity’s decay.
