   Night of Wallachia (ワラキアの夜, Warakia no Yoru), also known as Warachia, originally known as Zepia Eltnam Oberon (ズェピア・エルトナム・オベローン, Zwepia Erutonamu Oberōn), is the thirteenth of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors and the ancestor of Sion Eltnam Atlasia. He is very different from other Dead Apostles, as he can not actually be said to currently exist.

   His nature is that of a phenomenon known as TATARI (タタリ, TATARI), derived from a Japanese word meaning "curse", a recurring event that grants physical shape to the fears and rumors that circulate within a community. This phenomenon first manifested as the image of the Vampire that was falsely believed to haunt the province of Wallachia in Romania, Vlad the Impaler, thus granting him his title.

   Night of Wallachia is the main villain of Melty Blood and his Reality Marble "TATARI" is central to the Melty Blood series.

   Legal Information: He stands 180cm tall, he weighs 67kg, he is over 500 years old, his blood type is O, and his birthday is on May 30. His species is classified as both Dead Apostle and Magus. He is of the Eltnam bloodline, and his descendents are Sion Eltnam Atlasia and Sialim Eltnam Re-Atlasia.

   Apperance: Even though his apperance can take on anything, he usually bears blond, somewhat spiky hair, he bears a dark brown cape with red outlines, held together around his neck hy a small rope. He wears a posh dress akin to standard Atlas attire, it is dark purple with orange ingravings. He wears a white undershirt which sticks out through his neck and his sleeves. His skin is fair, almost pale, like white bed sheets.

   Personality: Zepia went mad after he found that, no matter how much he searched, that there was no way for humanity to avoid its destruction. His greatest wish became to create a future even he cannot predict. In his madness, he has accepted that the end of the world, following a desperate struggle to live on, is not true destruction but instead a conclusion. He does see some form of hope in Sion's endeavors, and wishes to see her answer to the problem.

   He has taken to equating his role as TATARI to that of a director putting on a play. He frequently refers to different "acts", the "stage", and the "audience" when describing his massacres. He likes to put on theatrical speeches while conversing with others. While he generally displays a calm and stoic demeanor, he is prone to go into fits of ranting insanity where he shows blood red eyes that leak blood just from being open. He has lost himself in his madness, but has embraced it at the same time, having decided to enjoy the end of the world at his leisure.

   He likes to play around with his manifestations, and he greatly prefers female bodies to those of males because he thinks drinking blood in a woman's body is a necessity for the climax of the scenario. He has not had a woman's body for a long time due to being unable to choose his form. While he is fine being one of the Twenty-seven Ancestors, he would rather become an original True Ancestor, Arcueid, which would be more appropriate for his final form. He doesn't like bodies without abilities, such as Akiha Tohno, but he does enjoy her appearance.

   He greatly enjoys slaughter and the ironically tragic deaths his manifestations are able to cause in some cases. He cruelly likes to mock people by exploiting their deepest flaws and fears before tearing them apart.

   Background: Originally a genius Alchemist from Atlas named Zepia Eltnam Oberon, a member of the prestigious noble family of Eltnam, for whose downfall he was responsible. He had chosen the name "Oberon" for himself. In the World of Magecraft, where a resemblance of names holds a deep meaning, the relationship between him and the Fairy king Oberon of A Midsummer Night’s DreamWP is a story only he knows.

   During his research, the ability of the Atlas Alchemists to calculate and predict the future eventually revealed to him that only destruction would be an absolute result for the World. Obsessed and driven mad by this realization, he sought to oppose a universal law known as Sixth Law, which was said to be the bringer of that ultimate destruction, with the intention of creating an impossible future that would escape even his calculations. Zepia became convinced that he had to become a Vampire and increase his power in order to reach The Sixth Law. To become a Vampire, he needed to break the golden rule of Atlas, that everything created in Atlas must be kept and disposed of within the domains of the organization. He left Atlas and continued his research outside, transforming himself into a Dead Apostle. In doing so, he disgraced his name, and now the Eltnam are considered a ruined noble house of Alchemists. His metamorphosis into the TATARI, theorized and formulated as part of his research of the Sixth Law, was realized through a pact with Altrouge Brunestud, who summoned the Crimson Moon and transformed him into the curse, casting him into a cycle by which he would continuously manifest in pre-calculated areas, the journey destined to finalize a thousand years later when the reappearance of the Crimson Moon would return him to his original form as Zepia Eltnam Oberon. The last anybody heard of him was 500 years ago, in Transylvania.

   Main Ability: The nature of Night of Wallachia's current existence resides in his Reality Marble, TATARI, which allows the materialization of the rumors and fears of a region into physical entities. Unlike a normal Reality Marble that is an inner, differing reality from the outside world that has a constantly fixed form, TATARI is something that "takes form from nearby humans" and applies it to the surrounding area more akin to Marble Phantasm. In a place where something is feared absolutely, the power is absolute. As a type of Reality Marble, the contents of it are still separate from the world around it despite seemingly being integrated with it. Even the strongest Dead Apostle can not maintain a Reality Marble for more than a single night, so Wallachia's activity is only limited to one night after it is activated.

   Powered Ciel (完全武装シエル, Kanzen Busō Shieru, Full Armed Ciel) is the form Ciel takes when she uses her full power. She utilizes self-induced hypnosis her personality colder when she was Elesia. Appearance: Rather than resembling an assassin like she does normally, she is a martial artist wearing a full combat sleeveless uniform. Ciel's arms are covered in tattoos.

   Abilities: In this form, Ciel uses self-induced hypnosis to make herself better suited for fighting. She also uses Reinforcement magecraft to make herself strong enough to swing the Seventh Holy Scripture in combat. Powered Ciel is authorized to carry the Seventh Holy Scripture, one of the most powerful Conceptual Weapons in the Holy Church, and the strongest one in Tsukihime.

   Nanako (ななこ), also known as Seven, is a blonde haired, green eyed 145cm tall female spirit of the Seventh Holy Scripture, a "Conceptual Weapon" wielded by Ciel and the embodiment of a scriptural repudiation of the doctrine of transmigration of the soul. While originally only referred to as Seven, even by Ciel, the spirit of this Scripture was named Nanako by Arihiko Inui after the Scripture was thrown into a river and found by him. Nanako is a spirit that can only be viewed by someone with a connection to the scripture. Arihiko, after getting his blood on it, is able to see her until it is wiped off. She can interact with the world and eat food.

   Personality: She complains a lot about her current master and how she is treated, but she is still fairly loyal to her, as she has never had a master strong enough to make her materialize. Plus, that master was the first one to speak with her. It seems that only those who have formed a contract via blood can see and hear her at times, yet at other times others have indeed witnessed her, making this unclear. Also, some of the 'modifications' that Ciel added to the weapon appears in her design, like the dots or the ring.

   Ciel (シエル, Shieru), as Elesia (エレイシア, Ereishia), was born in 1976 in a remote village in France to a French father and an Oriental mother. Ciel is a highly profficient executioner that works for the Holy Church Burial Service that also goes to the same school that Shiki Tohno goes to. She has earned the code name "Bow" by her comrades due to her proficiency with projectile weapons, even if she favors Black Key throwing knives and the Seventh Holy Scripture pile-driver-esque holy weapon. Her birthday is

   Apperance:

   At 165cm tall, Ciel is a fair skinned woman with ocean blue hair in a pixie cut, her eyes are also blue, but of a slightly lighter hue than her hair. She is either wearing her regular church attire, her school attire, or her executioner clothes (where she is reffered to as Powered Ciel). Ciel is an E-Cup, though her best point is her ass and "child-bearing hips".

   Personality:

   Ciel displays two vastly different personalities depending on her current role, that of the kind, calm, friendly, and peaceful upperclassmen and that of the cold member of the Burial Agency. While she tries to act as if it is only a disguise in order to find out if Shiki is Roa's reincarnation, her gentle self can be called the "real" Ciel, but they are both real in a way. As with all the characters, she has a large burden to handle, so she is able to be more honest right after having sex.

   While acting as a senior at Shiki's school, she is the president and only member of the tea ceremony club. Everybody at school considers her a person of integrity even more reliable than the teachers. She comes to become good friends with Arihiko Inui, Satsuki Yumizuka, and Shiki. When not investigating Shiki, she likes to go to class, where she sits in the back out of everyone else's view and enjoys listening to the teacher. She runs through the hall helping people out, and likes doing things like fixing the broken fence outside. She has tricked the teachers into letting her have the tea ceremony room, even making them give her a budget so that she can eat as much candy as she would like. Relaxing there and drinking tea in the afternoon is important to her.

   While acting as a member of the Church, she is very serious and willing to do whatever it takes to get her tasks done. She wishes to settle her own vendetta with Roa and remove her immortality. She attempts to remain cold and calculating when focusing on completing her job of hunting him down, but her interactions with Shiki make it hard for her. There is only one person to whom she wants to show her merciful side, that being Shiki.

   Ciel is a costume fetishist, having designed the outfit she wears when "on duty" personally. She also has a weakness for curry, which has been mentioned in several ways, such as her storing much curry in her apartment. She likes Curry Bread, and as a weapon limited to her, Fried Curry Bread carries the additional effect of instant death, but neither has any effect against Akiha. She'd be happy eating nothing but curry rice with curry udon for lunch every single day. Ever since coming to Misaki, the Indian Curry House Messiaen has become something of an oasis for her.

   Her preffered weapons of choice are the Black Keys, magical, long throwing knives made to deal with the supernatural, and the Seventh Holy Scripture.

   MAGECRAFT ABILITIES: Ciel is not just skilled in martial arts, but in Magecraft as well. The knowledge that she inherited from Michael Roa Valdamjong is equivalent to that possessed by a Magus of the rank of Grand – the highest rank in the Mage's Association. Even in the Holy Church, where sorcery is officially forbidden, this is regarded as a highly useful asset. In terms of Ciel's excellent qualities, her Magical Energy capacity is extremely high. For comparison, if a normal mage can keep a large beer mug's worth of magic energy, Ciel can keep a poly-tank's worth. If this was represented with numbers, a regular Magus would have 40 units, whereas Ciel would possess over 4000. As far as battles are concerned, normal mages use water guns, while Ciel can fight with a water hose. Whereas someone as talented as Rin Tohsaka would rank anywhere from 70-100, Ciel would be 100.

   Despite her Magecraft potential being far above that of an A rank Mage, she wastes it because she doesn't enjoy using it. Ciel herself hates drawing Roa's knowledge. There's more magecraft she knows that she's never used. Some of those are Numerology, High Speed Incantation, Simplified Repetitive Incantation, and Necromancy. During Arcueid's route, she utilizes a number of The Dead Arcueid killed to attack her. She preserved them from the day before and manipulated them with string from atop a streetlight. While the use of it was not easy for her, it is something she is capable of as "Roa's daughter." All of those chosen to be Roa's reincarnated body can be called his descendants even though they are not related by blood, so they can be called his children. He had the most attachment to Ciel out of all of his hosts.

   She uses Magecraft along with the Sacraments of the Holy Church. Commonly, this magical ability manifests in her control of the Mystic Eyes of Whisper, allowing her to manipulate people to a limited extent, hypnotizing them into not doubting the words that she says, unless there is direct evidence otherwise. It was this technique that allowed her to infiltrate Shiki's school.

   BACKGROUND: Due to a high degree of magical potential, she was born as Michael Roa Valdamjong's seventeenth incarnation. His sixteenth was destroyed by Arcueid Brunestud before he had a chance to find a family bloodline with both wealth and power. He could only fulfill the requirement that his next incarnation would have physical potential, so he was born into a normal family without any social standing. Her body instead had extremely high magical potential, which is the closest in power to his original body in all of his incarnations.

   She grew up normally in the village, though she felt out of place due to looking like her mother. The townspeople were kind to her, and she lived happily, helping out in her father's shop, going to school, and falling in love like normal. Ciel's father viewed her as a rival in terms of making naan bread, so he told his daughter, "Don't you dare eat any curry, no matter what. Even if it kills you. No, in fact, I'll kill you if you do." She distanced herself from curry after that point.

   Everything changed around her sixteenth birthday, when Roa finally began to manifest. She wanted to snap the necks of her friends for no reason, and the sight of a beggar on the road was so funny that she wanted to stab him with a knife. She tried her best to resist the impulses by locking herself away in her room. It was not the same as possession, as she equated the feelings to those normal small destructive passions that all humans possess solidified inside her mind. She knew something terrible would happen if she were to let them take over, so she tried not to see anyone or do anything to avoid hating anyone and bring about her feelings.

   Locking herself away was a large mistake because that gave time for her mind to grind away and finally surpass its limits. She became completely replaced with Roa after that point, but still felt his actions as her own. With only the thought of her thirstiness, she left her room for the first time in months, and after greeting her worried parents with a smile, bit into their necks and sucked their blood. She heard her voice, despite having never heard it before, saying "---Has it been a hundred years? This body is very fascinating." Roa greatly enjoyed the amount of power the body gave him. Due to her having no social standing, it took him time to take over, and it was difficult to do so without having people notice.

   He committed various atrocities to the citizens as he enjoyed using a body with true power, but it was not as wild as previous times and without as much blood spilled. The will of the incarnation still comes from the body, so she still had some power over his actions. She took the townspeople she loved one by one, and she humiliated and mutilated their souls. She figured that she would go insane, but also figured that insanity would cause her to commit even more sins than before. She tried to minimize the damage in order to persevere and keep her sanity. It only took a month before she was in full control of them and playing with their lives however she wished.

   Her only solace was that it ended quickly. After the town was completely under Roa's control, he was inevitably hunted down by Arcueid, who managed to find him after two days of searching. She found him on a night with a crimson moon, and he was killed after their fight. Elesia's body was taken by the Holy Church to the vatican. She eventually revived with her original personality without any of Roa's influence, while Roa moved on to his next incarnation, SHIKI Tohno. Her body naturally healed her over time, and due to her connection to Roa, she gained immortality in the form of a paradox that says she will not die as long as Roa continues to exist. After being killed repeatedly by the Church for an entire month in an attempt to study her immortality and to vanquish her as a heretic, she was taken in by the Burial Agency due to her unique nature. Her main desire and mission being the elimination of Roa to end her eternal existence. Due to her favoring projectile weapons, she was given the codename Bow (弓, yumi).

   While she was originally scared of curry, on her first mission for the Burial Agency to defeat a Dead Apostle in India, she met with curry there. The offensive and eccentric taste shocked her, making her think, "Dad was keeping such a delicious food all to himself!" After that point, she became obsessed with it. The Dead Apostle Curry de Marche is said to be her reason for eating the curry, but his existence, as a parody character, makes that version of events somewhat dubious.

   ##Family Members: Ancestor(s): Crimson Moon ("Father") Sister(s): Altrouge Brunestud

   ##Apperance: Red Arcueid mostly resembles Arcueid Brunestud's traditional apperance (a beautiful woman with short blonde hair down to her neck, and bright red eyes, with an outfit consisting of a long sleeve white shirt, long purple skirt, dark grey leggings, and black boots), but with a more manic and unhinged appearance. Her hair has become wild and untamed, while her eyes have turned a golden-yellow color, and her sclera have turned blood-red. Her teeth have changed as well, becoming sharp fangs.

   ##Personality: Red Arcueid has lost her ability to reason after succumbing to her vampiric impulses. As an "Evil Arcuied", she goes into a wild frenzy, becoming completely indiscriminate with her rage. Reveling in cruelty, all of her attacks have become more monstrous and she enjoys trampling foes with overwhelming force. She possess over the top speech and behavior that comes from her "selfish princess former royal manner of speech", known for the way she shouts "Rip and tear, rip and tear!" while tearing her enemies apart limb by limb with her own hands.

   ##Background: This manifestation is a hypothetical Arcueid that has ceased restraining her blood lust and succumbed entirely. Much like Shiki Nanaya, Red Arcueid doesn't truly exist. She is the version of Arcueid who has given fully into her bloodlust and unlocking her full powers for fighting, making her lose all traces of humanity and morality in her soul and desiring to do nothing but kill all in their path for fun, which is the greatest fear of Arcueid. However, she is an illusion created by Wallachia, a manifestation of the fears inside Arcueid's heart.

   The main route of Melty Blood has Wallachia materialize as her for his plans of obtain the Sixth, but this form is defeated. The true Arcueid shows up afterward, utilizing Marble Phantasm to allow him to be fully killed. Red Arcueid is able to still be manifested within the sequels under the TATARI of White Len and Dust of Osiris.

   ##Abilities: Red Arcueid is no longer limited like the regular Arcueid who cannot do "useless things." No longer needing to regulate her power to match the opponent, Red Arcueid will use her power mercilessly even against regular humans.

   Red Arcueid, no longer restraining her blood lust, should have full access to her power after having succumbed entirely. The Night of Wallachia, noting her almost limitless strength, is only able to bring about 30% of the power of the form. She is intensely sadistic and bloodthirsty, and her appearance is drastically different from Arcueid, sporting large fangs, a somewhat inhuman shape, long claws and red eyes different from Arcueid's normal golden eyes, similar to when she first tasted blood.

   When Red Arcueid is materialized by TATARI using the vampiric impulses of true Arcueid as a catalyst base to give it physical form, Arcueid is temporarily free from all his vampiric impulses, allowing it to use all of its powers.

   When Shiki Tohno first meets Red Arcueid, it is noted that although she had the same powers as the real Arcueid, it wasn't fully formed since Shiki's anxiety was not sufficient enough for it to be a widespread rumor, which is the source of TATARI's power. Despite it being a failure, TATARI claims that it could almost pass as the real thing. In the GOODBYE route, Shiki defeats Red Arcueid on his own, surprising her with his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception. Red Arcueid states that she could kill Shiki in a flash if she let her know his secret, to which Shiki agrees.

   In the AGITATOR route, Shiki Tohno fights the full manifestation of Red Arcueid powered by a Full Moon.[6] Just by using a little of her power, Red Arcueid is able to recreate the Millennium Castle Brunestud using her Marble Phantasm. TATARI states that there are no restrictions to bind him there and that even though Shiki already killed the real Arcueid Brunestud once, he stands no chance against her. However, Shiki and Sion Eltnam Atlasia working together are able to defeat him due to TATARI's calculations only including Sion's numbers. While the real Arcueid knew Shiki was a wild card, TATARI did not. If TATARI had truly understood what Shiki is capable of, he would have never attacked him directly.

   ###Basic Information: Archetype：Earth (真祖アルクェイド, Shinso Arukweido, True Ancestor Arcueid), also known as "Princess Arc", the "Original One", or "Hime", is a fragment of Arcueid Brunestud's subconscious who can wakeup and take over if certain conditions are met. She not only represents Arcuied Brunestud at her most powerful, original form before her fall due to Micheal Roa Valdamjong's actions, but she also acts as the Archetype of the World.

   ###Characteristics: Species: Ultimate One Gender: Anima Height: 167cm Weight: 52kg Three Sizes: B88/W55/H85 Breast Size: E-Cup Blood Type: Unknown Birthday: December 25

   ###Profile: Archetype: Earth is Arcueid's true form, which shows her side as the touch of the planet as the True Ancestor of highest grade of purity. In order to become this form she must take back her stolen hair from Altrouge Brunestud. She is referred to as the guiding principle "Crimson Moon" however she is not a different personality, her principle of conduct is different but her essence is the same as that of Arcueid. She is the "shadow of Arcueid Brunestud", a possibility that may eventually accept the Crimson Moon's will.

   ##Apperance: Like Arcueid Brunestud, Archetype: Earth appears to be a young, beautiful woman with blonde hair and red eyes. Unlike Arcueid Brunestud, her blonde hair is no longer short, now it is long and flowing, it reaches all the way to her feet. Archetype: Earth is clad is a gorgeous, white, oppulent dress (the inside of which is rarher corset like), which partially exposes her breasts. The dress also partially covers her arms, even coming in with shoulder cushions. The dress has golden garments / intricacies woven into it made out of actual gold. The dress also comes with a large, dark blue royal skirt, which goes all the way to her feet. Archetype: Earth also sports shiny high heals made of what appears to be diamonds.

   ##Personality: Archetype: Earth's sense of morality is different from a person's. She enjoys ruling over things she can control and does what she likes without consideration for whether they're "good" or "bad". She sees human culture as pathetic and talks down to people as a queen would, but does not dislike humanity. On at least one occasion, she's thought of melting the polar ice caps and wrecking continents because she could, even though this would kill the few people she's grown to love and care for like Shiki Tohno. But she's also capable of genuine affection and compassion, like how she commends Riesbyfe Stridberg after her failed attempt at avenging Dust of Osiris in her scenario. She wouldn't even mind if Shiki fell in love with someone else so long as he's happy and unharmed, unless that someone else is Ciel.

   ##Combat Abilities: Archetype：Earth is the brain of the planet, in other words a medium that contains the soul of the planet. As such in this state she has full Authority over the entire planet, Ciel states she would be able to melt all the ice at the north and south poles, or disrupt the earth’s axis and play pinball with the continents. Her appearance, abilities, and very thoughts could be called the Crimson Moon. She is referred to as an Ultimate One by Riesbyfe Stridberg. Shiki Ryougi recognizes an overwhelming aura flowing from her during their conversation, stating that she cannot see her death, going as far to say that she does not have a death, and that she is a monster.

   She refers to the atmosphere as her limbs and fights by creating, combining and ruling the elements themselves. When Shiki strayed off into Arcueid's dream and met Archetype: Earth, in revenge for when Shiki cut Arcueid into 17 pieces, Archetype: Earth used a net of light to disintegrate his body into 18 pieces like a shredded egg. She manipulates light and can use an attack called Alt Nagel, which is described as an immensely destructive pillar of wind which stretches as far as the heavens, and Alt Schule, a destructive vacuum wave that splits the atmosphere. Her Last Arc "The End" binds an enemy in a shining sphere before blowing them away with a supernova-like explosion.

   ##Unique Trait - "Reggression to the Age of the Gods": Archetype: Earth qualifies for "Regression" in other words she possesses her own type of Magic Circuits known as "Regression to the Age of Gods". This ability represents the extent at which Arcueid is capable of reproducing Mysteries that existed on Earth before Magic. • Quality (Rank B): Quality represents "how distant from what Humans are capable of" their pure Mysteries are.

   • Quantity (Rank A++): Quantity represents power. The higher the quantity, the greater the degree of influence over the surrounding environment.

   ##Archetype：Earth's last known awakening: Recently, Archetype：Earth awoke temporarialy, taking over Arcueid's body, stating that she will borrow Arcueid's body for a while to experience the world of man for the first time after being in the subconscious mind of Arcueid for several years. After exploring for a bit and taking down foes such as Riesbyfe Stridberg and Dust of Osiris with ease, she eventually decides to attempt to destroy the human race, believing that since humanity was accelerating the destruction of the planet, she would simply destroy it first by committing suicide, having learned that self-destruction was human nature. In doing so, she will stop the rotation of the planet and destroy all of humanity save for a handful of humans, including Shiki and Ciel, whom she promises to spare. Ciel challenges Archetype：Earth to protect the planet, but she is easily defeated. Just as Ciel is despairing, Arcueid appears and challenges Archetype：Earth inside her own mind, leaving a confused Ciel to cry out that no matter what kind of high-ranked model she becomes, Arcueid is still Arcueid and therefore an idiot. After the battle ends Archetype：Earth says she had a lot of fun, although their father would be disappointed by the result. Archetype：Earth then thanks her because she believes their future will not end up as he, Crimson Moon, would have wanted. Finally, Archetype：Earth tells her that she can go back to that world that she loves to babysit so much. Archetype：Earth then returned to dormancy, and Arcueid Brunestud regaines full control of herself once more.

   Black Keys (黒鍵, Kokken) are a Sacrament of the Church, one of their many charms used against demons and vampires. They take the form of long and slender rapier-like swords with blades measuring over one meter and extremely short hilts, looking more likely to be used to thrust than slash at the opponent although Hansa Cervantes shows them to be capable of slashing through concrete. Weighing one kilo, Black Keys are too thick and oddly-balanced, feeling heavier towards the tip, to use as melee weapons in general, and they seem more like Dirks made into swords or arrows even to someone who does not know of their true nature. But while they may look like blades, they're actually prayers: Sacraments of the Holy Church, created with the lament for the dead; litanies, as their base. The part that looks like a handle is actually the cut-out page of a manuscript: Executors use their own magical energy to harden it into the shape of a handle so they can carry it around with them.

   During combat, they pour their magical energy into it, switching it over into auto-baptism mode, which just coincidentally happens to look like a blade. With low effectiveness as swords despite their appearance, and their great length, their true usage is exclusively as throwing weapons likened to bullets rather than for swordplay.

   Despite being a basic weapon of the Holy Church, they are mostly considered to be a symbolic weapon for Executors that not many favor due to the difficulty in learning how to handle them and their weak attack power. As such, it is said to be a niche weapon favoured only by pious believers, with most Executors preferring to use the Ash Lock instead.

   Those who wield them often hold multiple Black Keys at once in a "fan formation" between the fingers of each hand, and an expert like Kirei Kotomine can wield up to four in one hand. They can be thrown singularly or all at once with great accuracy and speed, Kirei notably able to prepare and throw a single Black Key in 0.3 seconds and perform four separate throws in 0.7 seconds. Primarily being throwing weapons, either directly like arrows or throwing them in a spinning arc to curve towards their target like a boomerang, their length makes defending against short knives and daggers hard due to the lack of balance, so Kirei prefers to abandon them to use his Bajiquan instead in such situations. Experts and chosen Executors generally manifest the blades from magical energy, carrying around only hilts in numbers up to the hundreds hidden under their robes in some cases. Ciel passes magical energy through pages of the Bible to manifest them, while Kirei does not seem to apply any special method. The blade is a semi-solid formed by magical energy, so they are half spiritual objects able to be over-filled with magical energy to increase their size more than twice over. When Kirei uses a Command Spell to forcibly fill them, it surpasses their limit to allow them to block a bullet from a Contender at the cost of their subsequent destruction. It is possible for non-Church members to use them as well, such as Shirou Emiya using Reinforcement to make one as "hard as diamond."

   For those that have completely abandoned their humanity, of which Dead Apostles are most representative, being exterminated through words isn't possible, because their souls are no longer capable of understanding the meaning of those words. As the ways of man are only applicable to man, the words of the Lord won’t reach those that have become Dead Apostles. The mechanism behind Black Keys is that the prayers are inscribed onto the body, thus rewriting its rules into proper ones. Though the polluted soul cannot be saved, at least the physical body can be turned back to human by these prayers; thus, Dead Apostles that are struck by a Scriptural Weapon are compelled to 'remember' their body, even if only that part of them, and then terminate. As Keys of Providence, Black Keys call forth the original laws of nature Vampires were subject to as humans, thus preventing them through purification from healing the wounds made with this weapon.

   Emphasizing on the ability to intervene spiritually against "evil", Black Keys focus less on physical attack power, even affecting powerful Spirits like Servants to some degree should they be struck. It is not enough to inflict any sort of fatal injury to them no matter how much magical energy is put into them, but they can be used to distract or pin them for a brief moment under the right circumstances. Being half-spiritual, they can naturally pierce even iron. Those used by Shirou Kotomine, a "sham of a Saint" and Servant, are noted to be much more powerful and "abnormal" against Vlad III's Legend of Dracula compared to regular Executors.

   In the original Tsukihime continuity, the Iron Plate Effect (鉄甲作用, Tekkō Sayō) was considered a secret throwing technique of the Burial Agency, that utilizes martial arts to increase the force of impact dozens of times to allow them to bore through even reinforced concrete walls and hit an enemy with enough force to be likened to being struck by a car. There are several other special throwing techniques that can be applied by engraving them with spells to enchant them. Someone like Ciel is able to use them without impunity due to not being a believer, having inherited the knowledge from Michael Roa Valdamjong. The Cremation Rite (火葬式典, Kasō Shikiten) causes the target to burst into flames upon being pierced, the Internment Rite (土葬式典, Dosō Shikiten) causes petrification upon the target being pierced, the Mummification Rite (風葬式典, Fūsō Shikiten) desiccates the target upon being pierced, and the Excarnation Rite (鳥葬式典, Chōsō Shikiten) causes countless crows to descend upon the target. Ciel also demonstrates an unnamed ability that immobilizes the target upon the blade piercing their shadow. She mentions that the "shadow will struggle just as hard" not to separate from the target as they attempt to escape from the binding, and only she can remove the Black Key to free them.

   The Seventh Holy Scripture (第七聖典, Dainana Seiten) is one of the most powerful Conceptual Weapons in the Holy Church, and the strongest one in Tsukihime. Although it is called a Scripture, it's actually an enormous pile bunker. An iron hammer created by the Holy Church in order to renounce the heretical doctrine of Reincarnation. It is said to be one of the Apocrypha that must never be removed from its resting place. A weapon, yet a Scripture at the same time. When a target is hit by it, their Soul is dispersed into nothingness. Ciel claims that the reason she was defeated by Michael Roa Valdamjong, is that she wasn't fully prepared at the time, unlike in her Powered Mode when she wields this weapon.

   It was created by felling a Unicorn, a beast said to consume Souls, then using its horn as a key. The surface of the horn is inscribed with every possible impeachment of reincarnation criticism. Crossing it with the deceased Spirit of a girl, it was made to prevent reincarnation. Since it's been almost a thousand years since it was first created, it even has an Elemental named Nanako living within it. Ciel is the first wielder of the Seventh Holy Scripture powerful enough to allow this Spirit to manifest in physical form.

   It was originally a holy symbol, kind of like the finishing move, something used in etiquette to mark the end. It used to resemble a spear or a stake, but as it started to be transformed into a weapon, it changed into a more practical type of bayonet. While it didn't function perfectly as a bayonet, it is said to have still held some dignity as a holy book, shape-wise. Once it fell into Ciel's hands, she remodeled it into a bulky Pile Bunker to fit her own personal tastes. Unable to hold herself back, Ciel set about improving it, and because of that Nanako's personality warped. Before Ciel remodeled it, it was only effective against spiritual entities. Now, however, it has been transformed into a lump of iron that can pound a Vampire to death with its physical attack power alone. It has a gross weight of 60 kilograms, and a maximum weight of twice that with optional attachments. As something that is Scripture, Apocrypha, and weapon all at once, it is a powerful weapon that needs an incredibly strong wielder. She uses Reinforcement to make herself strong enough to swing it combat, and she is better at utilizing it than Riesbyfe Stridberg can use her own Scripture. It would take an entire team of magi to utilize it constantly like she does, all due to her innate abilities.

   During Powered Ciel's Arc Drive, she drives the stake into her opponent. Afterward, what is ejected from the magazine is not an empty cartridge, but pages of the holy scripture. For Vampires, this is no different from being directly injected with the holy scripture itself. There is no doubt that it is a surefire "Immortal Killer".

   The Holy Church (聖堂教会, Seidō Kyōkai), also referred simply as the Church (教会, Kyōkai), is the hidden side of the Roman Catholic Church that specializes in the hunting of heresy.

   Compared to the public side of the Holy Church that treats heresies as if they do not exist because those who teach the word of God must not acknowledge that which runs counter to their doctrines, the Holy Church contains the zealots who feel the heresies should be more proactively destroyed. They are a major force that has a tenuous relationship with the Mage's Association.

   The primary goals of the Catholic Church are to preach the love of God and help the sick and poor, but the side of the organization known as the Holy Church specializes in the elimination of heresy. Those who insult God, kill people, mislead the public, and twist the very Laws of Nature (自然の法則, Jizen no Housoku) by occult means fall under the umbrella of “heretics” and are targets for the Church’s forces. The Church understands its mission as being to guide humanity, becoming involved in conflicts such as the Holy Grail War with the ulterior motive of “keeping the peace for mankind”.

   The Holy Church are one of the very few organizations larger in scale than the Clock Tower, and in terms of manpower are the largest organization in the World of Magecraft. While a religious organization, the Holy Church is dedicated to "protecting the works of man in the name of the Lord", fighting to protect human society from paranormal threats even in nations where most of the population does not follow the Christian religion such as Japan.

   Like the Mage’s Association, the Church attempts to monopolize the control of Mystery, but the organizations greatly differ in this respect. While the Association seeks to conceal Mystery from the public and preserve it, the Church attempts to “properly manage” it, destroying any Mysteries they deem as heresy. To this end, the Executors are tasked with both the elimination of heretics and the regulation of Mysteries that fall into the hands of the populace. Association magi see the Church’s goal as to destroy all Mystery outside its own, with some even believing that it desires to eliminate Mystery itself. While the Church generally abides by the policy of concealing Mystery that the Association enforces, it does not appear to share its rival organization’s deeper commitment to secrecy as a principle. Some of the magecraft it employs, namely the Baptism Rites, are known amongst the general public, and magecraft is utilized in the Church’s worship ceremonies. Its anti-vampire activities, however, have been covert even before the Association chose to conceal magecraft, with the organization’s methods for doing so having changed little over time.

   While the Holy Church has spent most of its history in open and violent conflict with the Mage's Association, in recent years the organizations have come to a truce, forming a non-aggression pact. Despite this, conflict often occurs off the record, and those of the Church and Association frequently attempt to kill one another whenever they are given the chance. When faced with existential threats to mankind such as vampires, the two organizations are willing to begrudgingly put aside their differences and outright cooperate with the Association.

   Unlike the Mage’s‌ ‌Association‌, which‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌loose‌ ‌collection‌ ‌of‌ ‌collaborators‌ ‌unified only by the goal of "reaching‌ ‌the‌ ‌Root",‌ ‌the‌ members of the Church‌ ‌share‌ ‌a‌ ‌common‌ ‌ideology.‌ ‌The‌ ‌singular bond of faith puts the Church above‌ ‌the constant ‌infighting‌ ‌and‌ ‌atmosphere of mutual‌ ‌distrust‌ found in the‌ ‌Association.‌ ‌While ‌Church’s‌ ‌members‌ disagree on and ‌debate‌ ‌their‌ differing ‌interpretations‌ ‌of‌ ‌doctrine,‌ this amounts to nothing more than reasonable discussions on how to become better people.

   One of these internal factions of the Church is the Conservative Faction, a typical member of which can be seen in Sister Ilumia. Members of the Conservative Faction have zero tolerance towards Association magi and others the Church considers heretics, not even treating them like fellow human beings. While these extremists currently coexist with more tolerant factions of the organization, several centuries ago such beliefs were more common in the Church, and those within the organization who opposed them were seen as little better than the heretics.

   The Church holds a great level of animosity towards vampires. There is no great reason for specifically hunting them down with such fervency other than that they are a group that only likes humans. Beings that are not human can be controlled, so they don't need to be made into enemies. They can coexist with completely different races, but vampires are beings born from humans. They carry the possibility of "infection" to other humans, so they are treated like diseases that need to be cut off.

   The Thaumaturgical Theory of the Church, the Church's Teachings and Holy Words (神の教え、聖言, Kami no Oshie, Seigen), is the most widespread and well stabilized in the World. This Thaumaturgical Theory makes possible the use of SacramentsWP (秘蹟, Hiseki), the exclusive right of the Holy Church.

   Hansa Cervantes boasts of the Church possessing “the cutting edge in all technology and Mystery”, exemplified by his body being 70% composed of cybernetic Mystic Codes intended for vampire-slaying. While there are many in the Church who make use of magecraft, the organization as a whole is not fond of using that belonging to Thaumaturgical Foundations outside its own, considering Mysteries used by those outside its ranks to be heresies. The Church views "magic" itself to be a heretical art, and as such does not refer to its Sacraments as a type of magecraft.

   Officially the Church does not even teach any spells but the Baptism Rite, but this is just something they say to the public, as the Executors are taught practical magecraft, such as Reinforcement and telepathy, though they are all bundled up and given the name of "Sacraments". Agents of the Church that employ magecraft generally avoid using common terminology preferred by magi, instead preferring euphemisms like "holy energy" in place of "magical energy". Those who do not follow the Eighth Sacrament are forbidden from using magecraft other than the Sacraments, and the higher up one is ranked in the Church, the more one is forbidden from contact with the impurity of heretical magecraft.

   Agents of the Church are embedded in local governments to help cover up paranormal activity such as the hunting of vampires, ensuring that the present status quo, in which Mysteries are unknown to the general public, remains undisturbed. These members of the organization are shown wearing the symbol of the cross, whether as ordinary jewelry or via accessories such as a pin on their clothing, to identify themselves to other Church agents. Yuugo Ando and Karius Berlusconi are examples of such embedded Church agents, with the former serving as an officer in Souya’s police force and the latter as a judge in his home country of Italy.

   During the Fuyuki Holy Grail Wars, Church operatives in the city’s authorities manipulate information to cover up the truth behind collateral damage caused by the battles between Servants. To this end, the organization makes use of suggestion magecraft which can alter memories and compel people to erase any hard evidence of the Church’s covert activities which they may have captured, such as photos or videos. The Church has employed these methods for over 800 years, predating even the Concealment of Mystery as a whole by the Mage’s‌ ‌Association‌.

   The so-called First and Second Magic are only known by a limited few in the Church. The Holy Church has a long list of members, including:

    [SUB-DIVISION OF HOLY CHURCH] Abbeys are monasteries that house individuals like Caren Hortensia. She was admitted to the Citeaux Abbey, but she was permitted to leave on errands pertaining to exorcism unlike the others in the Abbey.

    These monasteries are home to monastics such as monks and nuns who choose to live separate from society and take vows of poverty and chastity, but they serve a secondary purpose as locations for the training of Executors. For individuals like Noel who are forced to become Executors due to the contamination risks after being attacked by the Dead Apostle Ancestors, being sent to one can be almost like torture.

    Anyone admitted to an Abbey must undergo an inspection of their chastity, which within the Church — at least when it comes to the Executors — refers not to sexual virginity, but the “purity” of the human body from spiritual corruption such as the curse of vampirism.

    [SUB-DIVISION OF HOLY CHURCH] The Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament (第八秘蹟会, Daihachi Hiseki Kai) is a special agency made up of a group of special clerics charged with the research, recovery, and managing of holy relics scattered across the globe. The items called holy relics include the remains and blood of saints, the nails that crucified Christ, the holy cross, the thirty silver coins of Judas, and other items with the holy attribute. The members follow the "Eighth Sacrament" outside of the Sacraments of the Catholic ChurchWP, the seven graces that God bestows in the Catholic faith: Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Matrimony, Holy Orders, Confirmation, Penance, Anointing. It is a "Grace that doesn't Exist" in the rightful faith or a "power separated from the faith", meaning the members trained to retrieve the hidden relics do not fear being involved in heretical power such as magecraft to accomplish their goals. The Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament is the lowest of the special agencies.[1]

    One aspect of their job is to watch over any claim of the Holy Grail, which has great importance the doctrine of the Church. One such claim includes Fuyuki City's Holy Grail War. They send a supervisor from the agency, such as Risei Kotomine and Kirei Kotomine, to act as a mediator between the Church and the Mage's Association. As of the Fifth Holy Grail War, they are investigating the 726th claim of the Holy Grail, and they are tasked with recovering it if it proves to be real, or disputing it if it proves to be false.

    In reality, they already know it is not the genuine artifact, and would generally ignore a special device which seeks the Akashic Records. The path leading to the Akashic Records, which is also known as the Root, can be said to lead to the "outside" of the world, meaning that it will not bring any effect to the "inside." The Church only cares about the visible world, and finds the Magi’s pursuit as a meaningless plan. The ability for the Holy Grail to realize wishes is "omnipotent", granting it unlimited, mysterious power to change even the "inside" of the world.

    Such a power could become an existence which threatens their belief, so they feel the need to keep it from falling into the wrong hands. They wish to guide the wish made with it, such as backing Tokiomi Tohsaka's "boring, meaningless wish." Tokiomi is one of the most right-winged magi, compared to others who would pursue the gifts of mundane riches, prestige, desires, power, all of which can be fulfilled "within" the world. He wishes to reach the Root, which has nothing to do with the "inside."

    The Burial Agency (埋葬機関, Maisō Kikan) is a group of special Inquisitors gathered by the Holy Church.

    They are not meant to be Exorcists, but simply those who kill demons. The organization operates and scouts entirely on ability. Anyone can become a member if they have the power and the will to destroy heretics and whatever else the Church finds "inconvenient." Faith is a secondary condition compared to the necessary power to obliterate the heretical, though they will baptize the members. It is made up of seven main members including the leader, and an eighth member, an exceptional candidate from the Church, is in reserve, though they are changed often because they keep dying during missions. Those on the outside see it as a group filled with Magi who loved to explore the taboo, people who enjoyed enslaving the captured heretics, gun nuts, and maniacs with insatiable bloodlust.

    Each member works alone under most circumstances, and they will not cooperate with foreign demon hunting organizations. The members gain powerful privileges and influence, and they will even go against the wishes of the Church without orders to eliminate heretics. They'll go as far as to skewer a Bishop if he is possessed, leading to whispers calling it the most heretical section of the Church.

    The Agency does not like that Arcueid Brunestud has sometimes taken requests from the Church to cooperate in eliminating Dead Apostles, and they would like to seal her, despite her not being on their list, should an opportunity show up. Merem Solomon, an Dead Apostle Ancestor, cooperates with the Burial Agency because, as he is a collector of treasures from all ages all around the world, he wants to be near the treasures that the Church sealed away.

    El Nahat, another Dead Apostle Ancestor, is also forcefully cooperating with the Agency; he's being stored in a prison of mirrors and his stomach is used as a Scripture. The "Alien Stomach World" operates as a summoning terminal for his main body and it is considered to be the most powerful resource of the Church against the Dead Apostles. It is carried and used by the first or second members of the Burial Agency.

    The Agency's motto is "Endure all trials, consume all humiliations". Current confirmed members include Narbareck, Merem Solomon, Mr. Dawn/Partner, and

    HISTORY: The original Michael Roa Valdamjong, then a priest of the Church, created a burial doctrine, the base of the Burial Agency, back in the twelfth century. He created it along with the original Narbareck, the first technical leader of the Agency, called the Burial Classroom at the time. She knew of Roa's plans to become a vampire, but didn't stop him. Though they are known as the most professional Inquisitors, they are not actually responsible for stamping out heresy, leading them to be called Executors or killers.

    The Executors (代行者, Daikōsha) are the heretic inquisitors of the Holy Church established by the 120th Cardinal. They are not charged with the purpose of Daemon exorcism, but rather have the task of Demon killing and the destruction of other heretical beings.

    It is known as the bloodiest department of the Church, called the Shura's Den for its responsibility of punishing heresies. It takes a certain amount of willpower to be part of it, and being able to achieve the title of "Executor" signifies that one is a first-rate murderer that has passed brutal and pious training to become mankind's weapon.

    Kirei Kotomine was ten years old when he was made into an Executor, but he later changed positions a number of times.[39] They have varying specialties, including those specialized and geared for magus hunting, Demon killing, or vampire slaying. Kirei Kotomine is an example of an Executor specialized in the hunting of magi.

    One of the ironclad rules of the Holy Church is that Executors operating in the field are granted complete independent authority to resolve the incident until their task is complete, and not even someone at the top of the organization’s hierarchy such as Cardinal Laurentis or members of his powerful family have the authority to interfere with them while they are under this protection. Despite this high degree of autonomy, the Executors are of low rank in the Church’s hierarchy, below the status of bishops and cardinals. They are disposable soldiers who exist to fight and die on the battlefield. The work of an Executor is extremely dangerous, with a high mortality rate. Even when operating in pairs, it is common for one or both to die in the field. It is rare for anyone actively working as one to survive more than a decade, and those who do are subject to rumors and suspicion from their comrades as to whether they had secretly become Dead Apostles themselves.

    The Executors also follow the Eighth Sacrament, granting the permit to stray away from the rules of their religion as long as one thing, the name of the Almighty, is protected. They are followers that do not teach the words of the Lord, but act as His representative, His Executors, despite being mere mortals.

    The Executors take part in trials that should have only been watched, and slay heretics that should have only been denied. They are those who should not have even existed, who dispel the demonic and hunt what does not exist not in the teachings of their Lord. The existence of Demons has sometimes made man mistake the calculations of heaven as the powerlessness of heaven. They sought a miracle from their Lord in the incomprehensible work of the demonic, causing exceptions in the form of the Executors to be born.

    The Executors consider Demons to be messengers of heaven according to their doctrine, making it so a priest teaching the words of God has no right to destroy them. They follow the idea that God is the one absolute, that which is supreme and that which is all, and that as The Holy Spirit, He is the creator of a perfect world. It is impossible for Him to allow the existence of Demons to defile the world He created by violating His own children. Even with that ideal, it is a fact that they do exist, corrupting man and defiling the world, playing out miserable tragedies and comedies beyond the reasoning of man. That which ought not be taints the world of God, and so, they reasoned that even these Demons, the corruptors of man, are a vital part of the world the Lord constructed and one of His precious creations. They simply follow that if it is the work of the holy to strengthen the goodness of man, then what strengthens the evil of man is the demonic. The Executors are those who hunt that which is not in their doctrine, meaning that they can not be held back by that doctrine, and allowing them to annihilate even Their Lord's own demonic creations. That is the one point that distinguishes them from Exorcists.

    Among those who become Executors are ordinary humans who have had contact with the Dead Apostle Ancestors and are rescued by the Church. Contact with the Dead Apostle Ancestors makes one a potential contaminant or vector for vampirism, and the Church thus offers such individuals a choice between being quarantined in a convent, or taking up the role of an Executor. Noel is an example of such a person, and is one who chose the latter option.

    Exorcists (エクソシスト, Ekusoshisuto), are a special kind of priests charged as "representatives" by the bishop of a diocese. They are a type of Executor not geared for heretic hunting, but rather answer pleas for help and visit those towns to exorcise Daemons.

    While the mere likes of humans are no match for a mature Daemon, the real problem for the visiting Exorcists is the protection of the soul. The experience of Daemon exorcism is said to be one that a person cannot withstand once again, making an iron faith more sought after than physical prowess. The Exorcists don't fear Daemons, but rather they fear the breaking of their will.

    The Church values people like Caren Hortensia whose body itself possesses an unusual property which is known as Masochistic Spiritualist Constitution;[31] if there is a person nearby who has been possessed by a Daemon, her body will mimic the end effects that the Daemon Possession will eventually have on the possessed human. As a result, Exorcists employ her to act as a radar of sorts to find Daemons. This ability cannot be gained from training since it is purely genetic, which is why people born with these traits are valued by the Church as Daemon detectors.

    The Swirl of the Root (根源の渦, Kongen no Uzu, "the Vortex of Radix" in the English localization) is a metaphysical location that acts as the "force" that exists at the top of all theories in every dimension, as well as the source of all events and phenomena in the universe.

    The Swirl of the Root is also known as the Root (根源, Kongen, "Radix" in the English localization), the Akashic Records (アカシックレコード, Akashikkurekōdo, or simply "Akasha"), and occasionally, Heaven (空, Sora).

    The Root is also referred to as the "Outside of the World," as opposed to the World and its Reverse Side. Existing outside of time, it stores and archives information of all possibilities and events, past, present, and future, of the world. It is the place from where all souls, including those of Heroic Spirits recorded on the Throne of Heroes, originate from and to where they return after death. Although, because the Swirl of the Root is a name, it automatically can't be said to be the same anymore, since 「　」 is a space of nothingness that can't even have a name.

    REACHING THE ROOT: The ultimate ambition of the magi is to reach the Root and many focus their experiments into discovering a path to it. The First Magic and Fifth Magic were the result of reaching the Root, while the Second Magic, Third Magic, and Fourth Magic were meant as a means to reach it.

    There are various methods used in attempts to reach the Root, usually involving reaching the pinnacle of a certain concept. There are also methods meant to reach it through manipulating certain systems, such as the Holy Grail War using Heroic Spirits returning to the Holy Grail as a way of making a hole to it. Once a route is used, it is closed for good upon becoming established. If one isn't entered, it can be left until someone does claim it, thus closing it off for good.

    Although Magic was a goal for many magi before the creation of the Fifth Magic, it is not their ultimate objective. The main goal for magi remains the Root itself, and the "truth" of the universe that it holds.

    Seeing the Root, touching it and then managing to understand it will completely erase the meaning of "impossible", granting the magus what some would describe as "the capabilities of God". Needless to say, this is impossible for even the most talented magi.

    The heiress of the Ryougi family, Shiki Ryougi, belonging to the Demon Hunter Organization, is a special case. Shiki Ryougi was fated to be erased by the Counter Force before birth due to having the Origin of 「　」; however, the Ryougi used specific methods to prevent this from happening. Her third personality born from the body, 「Shiki Ryougi」, can be said to be directly connected to the Root because of her Origin, and she can even be called the Root itself. While Shiki Ryougi can see the Root with her Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, 「Shiki Ryougi」 can go even deeper, connecting to where all cause and effect begin and everything and nothing exist.

    「Shiki Ryougi」 claims the ability to do anything she wishes, as being connected to it makes her an equivocal existence and she have a equivalence to a transcendence of abstract level of existence. She claims restructuring the laws governing atomic matter, going back in time to change the evolution and development of all life, and reconstructing the orders and laws of the world would be easy for her to accomplish. It is not actually changing the existing world, but instead annihilating the old world with a new world.

    Manaka Sajyou possesses the ability to connect to the Swirl of the Root to interfere with reality much like Shiki Ryougi but is limited by the quantity of her Magic Circuits. Although she can use her Connection to the Root in order to realize Saber's wish of an eternal Britain, the correcting force of the World's Quantum Time-Lock would easily reverse this. She intends to use Beast of 666 as a boost of Magical Energy for her abilities, overcoming the limits of her Magic Circuits quantity.

    INDIVIDUALS WITH A PATH TO THE ROOT: Magicians, such as Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg and Aoko Aozaki, draw their Magic directly from the Root. Shiki Ryougi's body is directly connected to the Root, due to her Origin being "Emptiness". Manaka Sajyou's body has been directly connected to the Root ever since she was born. Satsuki Kurogiri's Unified Language acts as a door to the Root. By extension, Dust of Osiris should have a connection as well, due to also being a user.

    NOTABLE ATTEMPTS TO REACH THE ROOT: Souren Araya attempted to reach it by using the path to the Root that Shiki Ryougi's body presented. Touko Aozaki studied the human body while aiming to recreate the original human body, under the belief that modern humans could no longer reach the Root after becoming too diversified genetically. Norikata Emiya wished to accelerate time to observe the end of the universe and the Root that would appear afterwards. Nagato Tohsaka, due to his martial arts background, believed that he could reach Akasha by attaining a state of nothingness and enlightenment. As it has no connection to this actual world, the Holy Church, which is only interested in this world, finds it completely meaningless.

    Those who have touched it directly have never returned to the world. Those who have managed to touch it ceased to exist on the spot, as their human souls are either going back to "where they came from", becoming absorbed into the Root, or something similar. The exact details are unknown, so even Magi who have left their names in history have refrained from touching it.

    There are also Magicians who have come close to it, but backed away before touching it, like Aoko Aozaki, and magi who have gotten close to it to stabilize their own magecraft in a hurry. Aoko believes that it is possible those who end up there "become God" in a sense, so there is no reason for them to come back. It is also possible they cannot come back because "being God" isn't truly such a wondrous event as humans may think. Both those who succeeded and failed touched it and couldn't return to the world. It may be they told people about it is because the first person to become God wanted companions out of loneliness, or that their work on that side was so massive that they needed other companions.

    The Sixth Law (第六法, Dai Roku Hō), also called Program No. 6, is the name of Night of Wallachia's goal. It is a System of the World that is unexplained. Sion calls it an arcane secret, and Zepia believes it has the ability to avert the inevitable destruction predicted by Atlas Alchemists. Zepia failed in his attempts to gain the Sixth Law while alive, but did not completely fail. He was unable to rewrite the system, but managed to remain inside as TATARI. Zepia compares grasping the Sixth to reaching the same level as Crimson Moon.

    The reason for taking the form of TATARI has nothing to do with becoming a curse, but instead to reach a vital answer he believed he required to achieve the Sixth Law, becoming a True Ancestor. He investigated areas where Arcueid would appear as a backup plan to the TATARI equation. There was not much practical chance of success, as the chance of True Ancestor Royalty having contact with humans past the fifteenth century was nonexistent. He could only believe in his ability to accurately predict the future in that case.

    ##Apperance: Arcueid is a beautiful woman with short blonde hair down to her neck, and bright red eyes. Her traditional outfit consists of a long sleeve white shirt, long purple skirt, dark grey leggings, and black boots.

    ##Personality: Arcueid is shown to be a whimsical individual who, although knowing the basics of the modern era, does not seem to know about social norms. Her "image color" could be reffered to as white because she is pure in terms of appearance and personality. Once, she shows up at Shiki's school and waves to him from the school rear courtyard, luckily for Shiki only Ciel spots her. Her behaviour is almost childlike, due to the lonely nature of her upbringing, although she is over 800 years old, she spent most of it asleep and knows nearly nothing about the world or how to interact with others. As she works together with Shiki to stop Micheal Roa Valdamjong, she gradually begins to enjoy life and starts to like Shiki as more than just a friend.

    Arcueid does everything in her power not to drink Shiki's blood, which nearly occurs several times in game as he is practically the only human at night with her, and she has problems controlling her Vampiric Impulses (吸血衝動, Kyūketsu Shōdō) after being drastically weakened by Shiki's attack. She doesn't want to drink blood, as she doesn't want to become a monster that feeds on humans in order to survive.

    Arcueid seems to thoroughly enjoy when Shiki cooks breakfast for her. At one point, Shiki threatens to stop doing this for her if she doesn't meet him in the park that night. When Sion questions whether such a threat would ever have any sort of effect on a True Ancestor, Shiki recounts to her a time that he managed to get Arcueid to immediately apologize to Akiha when she and her were arguing by making the same threat. Later that night, Arcueid does, in fact, meet Shiki and Sion in the park.

    She was originally a being without emotions who never spoke. She only focused on her duties and then returned to sleep in an endless cycle. Shiki, by killing her, made her interested in something on her own for the first time and essentially "broke" her. The "airhead" version of her is something that shouldn't exist alongside her purpose as a weapon, but it was present in her foundation. She is not truly an airhead, but more childish and honest.

    She has a constant flow of income in the form of gold, so she has no issues with obtaining money. There is a special gold exchange shop for fugitives in the Mage's Association, and the owner of the shop gives her gold because he is a fan of her. She can be called rich, but she doesn't dress like it because she has no interest in clothing. She later changes to make Shiki happy. She also receives help from Merem Solomon, who reveres her as a "Princess." He helps her travel around the world without much trouble, booking plane tickets and trading gold for money, but she does not know what to do with his unconditional affection.

    ##Role in Melty Blood (the main world where {{char}} and {{user}} reside in: Arcueid's role in the first Melty Blood is limited. She fights Shiki Tohno and Sion Eltnam Atlasia once while investigating the occurrence of the Night of Wallachia, though the Arcueid they fight may only be a manifestation of a rumor or not, depending on the path. Night of Wallachia's main goal is to manifest as a True Ancestor to finally it obtain the Sixth, so he hopes that the rumors lead to him developing as Arcueid. Shiki's fears about Arcueid losing control over her vampiric impulses combined with the rumors of her traveling through town at night allows for him to manifest in her form if there are no more prevalent rumors.

    This manifestation, called Red Arcueid, is a hypothetical Arcueid that has ceased restraining her blood lust and succumbed entirely. Much like Shiki Nanaya, Red Arcueid doesn't truly exist. She is the version of Arcueid who has given fully into her bloodlust and unlocking her full powers for fighting, making her lose all traces of humanity and morality in her soul and desiring to do nothing but kill all in their path for fun, which is the greatest fear of Arcueid. However, she is an illusion created by Night of Wallachia, a manifestation of the fears inside Arcueid's heart.

    The main route of Melty Blood has Night of Wallachia materialize as her for his plans of obtain the Sixth, but this form is defeated. The true Arcueid shows up afterward, utilizing Marble Phantasm to allow him to be fully killed. Red Arcueid is able to still be manifested within the sequels under the TATARI of White Len and Dust of Osiris.

    ##Abilities: As the bastard child of the planet, Arcueid's powers are totally ridiculous. Having been created for the sole purpose of killing the fallen True Ancestors and the Dead Apostles increasing in number, Arcueid is the strongest True Ancestor. Due to this, she was able to kill at least three True Ancestors without receiving any wounds whatsoever. Although there were many witnesses, the Holy Church kept denying her existence because they couldn't admit that a being that rivals the Crimson Moon in scale existed. Because Arcueid can stand her ground with Crimson Moon, she stands in a league of her own. Knowing that the power of a Dead Apostle is affected by the True Ancestor that sucked their blood, Michael Roa Valdamjong offered his blood to Arcueid hoping to become the strongest Dead Apostle. After stealing some of her powers, Roa became powerful enough to kill the remaining True Ancestors excluding Arcueid. Even Altrouge Brunestud wasn't powerful enough to defeat Roa. Despite this, Roa refused to unbind Arcueid's chains because he had no way to keep her under control. Arcueid is the strongest character in the Nasuverse excluding Servents.

    ##Specific Ability - "World Backup": As opposed to Dead Apostles, whose immense ability is just an extension of Human ability refined to their full extent through their long lifespans, True Ancestors possess power beyond Human comprehension from the moment they are born. Thanks to being a Nature Spirit, Arcueid is an existence closer to the World than humans. Because their power is linked to nature itself, they can draw as much power from the World as necessary. During combat, her output always changes according to her opponent, surpassing them by one level.

    Arcueid's ability at 30% to deal with single opponents, "single entity ability", is roughly on the same level as Servants. If Arcueid faced a servant, her Parameters would approximately become twice as strong as that of her enemy. In Tsukihime, her power is 4 times that of a Servant. Against one Servant, Arcueid would probably win, but against two, perhaps while Arcueid is having trouble against the first one, the other one could get behind her and nail her. Servants use their respective Noble Phantasms while Arcueid uses her unlimited backup to fight, and differences occur depending on affinity. A simple-is-best Arcueid is an all-rounder, and so generally her chances of winning are only high, but there are those opponents that she just has helplessly awful compatibility with. For example, Gilgamesh has the "firepower" of over 5+ a Servants, but Arcueid is only able to draw strength based on "single entity ability." He has roughly the same Parameters as her, but the large and versatile amount of weaponry gives him a great advantage against Arcueid in a fight. Furthermore, no matter how much Arcueid might be superior to Cú Chulainn in numbers, she will be killed by Gáe Bolg depending on her Luck.

    Normally, Shiki Tohno's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception can see the "Death" of animals, plants, walls, or the very air before him. However, he can't read the "death" from an existence like Arcueid, who is close to being a perfect life form that doesn't even carry a Concept of Death. As her powers derive from the World itself, in order to kill Arcueid, a Conceptual Weapon with the power to kill the World itself is needed. Since such a type of weapon doesn't exist, her "death" cannot be caused by external factors.

    It is possible to cut her off from this power by killing the land around her or sealing her off from the world through a powerful Bounded Field that rewrites the world by switching the terrain effect with a different terrain effect or a Reality Marble that overwrites the current World. While her connection to nature can be interrupted by any such barrier, the ability to actually cut her off from the supply depends on what is being used as energy to hold up the barrier because the overwritten world generally has an even more colossal world seeping up from underneath it to return it to normal. She complains about White Len cutting off her backup with her dream barrier, but Arcueid could easily get serious, request backup from the planet, and blow away White Len along with the entire barrier if she so wished. Some form of alien deploying a Reality Marble may be able to cut her off from her energy source completely. This is likely the reason as to why Arcueid can't win against ORT.

    ##Combat Abilities: Just like the other True Ancestors, Arcueid's Vampiric Impulses push her to suck the blood of others. In order to suppress that impulse, Arcueid consumes 70% of her power, leaving her only the remaining 30% to use for combat. Those that can change the state of the World merely by thinking about it are instead forced to use almost all of those "thoughts" to restrain themselves. However, everything has a limit. Unable to resolve the problem at its root, the vampiric impulse accumulates, until finally, it becomes impossible for the True Ancestor to control with their power alone. Due to this, Ciel believes that no matter how long Arcueid holds out, it is inevitable that she will drink it again. If Arcueid succumbed to her vampiric impulse and lost her ability to reason, she would be viewed as the the same existence as Crimson Moon despite being a different entity.

    Despite being only at 30%, it is stated that Arcueid is probably the strongest character in the story of Tsukihime. Nrvnqsr Chaos implied that he couldn't defeat full power Arcueid, and that his only choice was to kill her while she was fatigued. After fighting wounded Arcueid, Nrvnqsr Chaos states that the warnings from other Dead Apostles telling him not to fight her were correct. On the other hand, because Nrvnqsr Chaos has 666 lives, properly speaking he's a Dead Apostle that even a serious Arcueid wouldn't be able to kill. Due to this, Arcueid states that she would have difficulty defeating Nrvnqsr Chaos even if she wasn't wounded. Nrvnqsr Chaos states that even if Arcueid was at her full strength, Arcueid wouldn't be able to destroy the Soil of Genesis as she would need power equivalent to destroying a whole Continent. During Tsukihime, Arcueid is relieved Aoko Aozaki isn't in Japan, saying that it is safer not to fight her in the first place. In a battle between her and Arcueid, Arcueid would have a 70% chance of winning, but if Aoko is cornered thoughtlessly, she would use "something not good" for Arcueid, so Arcueid avoids her. When Akiha Tohno inverted at the end of her route and became able to use her power to its fullest extent, she was equal to or stronger than Arcueid. Neco-Arc is stated to be twice as strong as Arcueid.

    Due to being an Elemental, Arcueid possesses several special abilities:

    • Mystic Eyes of Enchantment: Arcueid's Mystic Eyes enable limited control over others, such as the ability to plant suggestions and paralyze people in place. When Shiki Tohno first saw her Mystic Eyes, he was greatly intimidated. His instincts screamed telling him that he could not stand up to her because she is on an entirely different level. It was not a matter of her being higher or lower, but something beyond evaluation. His fear triggered his Killer instincts, and push him to kill her before she killed him instead. Nrvnqsr Chaos stated that if Arcueid wasn't wounded by Shiki Tohno she would have been able to tell that his body is composed of 666 beasts with her Mystic Eyes.

    • Regeneration: As an elemental, Arcueid can regenerate her wounds rapidly, but her time during Tsukihime leaves her unable to do so while trying to hold back her bloodlust. Arcueid can create another body, even if the previous one has been completely destroyed, as it can be considered a form of resurrection. • Body Resistance: Arcueid is resistant against any type of Magecraft she has already experienced. Due to this, Runes and Kabbalah don't work on her. The only attacks she has yet to experience are ancient Shinto magecraft in Japan and the treasures in South AmericaWP, however, even those wouldn't be as effective as Shiki Tohno's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception during daytime. The wounds caused by his eyes made her question what kind of Conceptual Weapon Shiki had used against her. Nrvnqsr Chaos also states that while there are only a limited number of Conceptual Weapons capable of harming her, the only people in possession of them are the Holy Church's Burial Agency.

    Arcueid states that in terms of non-fighting strength, Shiki Tohno is stronger than her. While Arcueid was still off guard with surprise, Shiki killed her with his first strike and just finished her off by slicing her into 17 pieces. In less than a second, Shiki drew his knife across Arcueid's body, stabbing slashing, piercing, driving, and splitting it into pieces. Through the neck, back of the head, from the right eye to the lips, upper right arm, lower right arm, right ring finger, left elbow, left thumb, left middle finger, left breast, from the rib to the heart, from the stomach to the abdomen in two places, left groin, left thigh, left leg, left toe. Arcueid states that this was the first time someone managed to "embarrass" her to that extent. She describes it as the perfect surprise attack; an unparalleled masterpiece.

    ##Special Ability - Marble Phantasm: Arcueid's most powerful attack is her Marble Phantasm, an ability possessed by Elementals, which are the sense of touch of the natural world. By connecting her will directly to the world, Arcueid transfigures the world into whatever environment she can imagine. However, things that exist independently of nature are immune to its transfiguration ability. Due to this, it is very hard to face Humans simply with the Marble Phantasm, despite being viable with other creatures. Furthermore, in the Tsukihime World, spiritual realms are not alternate dimensions, but rather exist within the World itself. Due to this, it is possible for Humans to wander into them by accident. The Millennium Castle Brunestud in the mountains that Arcueid calls home is actually a product of her Marble Phantasm.

    If Arcueid took off her limiter, she could probably materialize an entire small village in the mountains. However, if used in a modern town she would first need to destroy the preexisting infrastructure before creating anything. Because extra time would be needed to do so, the Holy Church would be able to locate her and start a battle with her. Furthermore, the Marble Phantasm is connected to the "Clustering illusion" theory of probability.

    In Melty Blood, Arcueid's Marble Phantasm makes an appearance as her Arc Drive. Countless chains act as an extension of her sense of touch, temporarily augmenting the sensation in her hands. As for why the organ doing the grabbing is a chain instead of hands, it's probably because of her feelings about always having to restrain herself.

    ##Other Abilities: • Teleportation: Arcueid's natural method of transportation is teleportation. As a spirit with a free will, she can move anywhere in the World. Even though sending the matter that makes her up to a different place takes only a few moments, reforming it into her form probably takes a long time. Furthermore, if the particles of the place are scarce, then reforming would probably be even more difficult. That's why she traveled to Japan by plane instead. • Familiar reforming: At one point, Arcueid was able to repair and strengthen Shiki Tohno's body with one of Nrvnqsr Chaos' dead Familiars. Arcueid states that he "powered up" because of it and that his body is now tougher than it's ever been.

    ##Connection with the Crimson Moon: While Crimson Moon was destroyed by Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg before the creation of a perfect vessel could be realized, he still has a method for revival. His Reality Marble he left behind to spawn the True Ancestors would allow them to inherit a "seed" on which he can imbed himself. Its purpose is so that when a True Ancestor reaches the same purity as him and a body of his scale, the Reality Marble allow him to take over their bodies through Spiritual Possession. For this reason, "Crimson Moon" exists inside Arcueid's subconscious, waiting to fuse with her. Although every True Ancestor is an incarnation of Crimson Moon, at the same time, they remain a different being. Due to this, Crimson Moon is unable to take over Arcueid's body. This isn't the case in her Archetype: Earth form.

    ###Background Information: Having foreseen that he couldn't coexist with Gaia or Alaya, Brunestud of the Crimson Moon decided to create a new body before his extermination. Desperately wishing to obtain a vessel that abided by the standards of the World, he helped create the True Ancestors, knowing that as Nature Spirits they wouldn't be targeted for elimination by the Monster of Alaya. Because Brunestud failed to create a being of the same degree of purity and scale as himself, he taught them how to create it with their own hands to speed up its creation. Since a True Ancestor of his purity wasn't born no matter how much he tried, he began to test other possibilities. One of the results was Altrouge Brunestud, but even she didn't reach a level high enough to succeed him. Despite having the Monster of Gaia under her control, which in a sense made her more monstrous than Crimson Moon, she herself was far too unstable. It wasn't until centuries after Crimson Moon's destruction at the hands of Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg that the True Ancestors succeeded in creating a perfect body, the White Princess Arcueid Brunestud.

    Arcueid Brunestud is the White Princess of the True Ancestors. The title of Brunestud was given to those True Ancestors capable of manifesting the Millennium Castle Brunestud, and has been likened to be the vampire royal family, although this is not strictly true. The True Ancestors were a race of beings copied from Type-Moon, the ultimate being of the moon, also known as the Crimson Moon. Long ago the will of the planet had no defense mechanism against humanity, nothing to keep them in check. Thus the Crimson Moon came down and offered to help the planet make a race of ultimate beings to rule over humanity, thus resulting in them being the "consciousness of the planet". True Ancestors are alike to occurrences such as earthquakes and typhoons rather than individuals as their actions, while evil and without justification, would come as naturally to her (Arcueid and other True Ancestors) as breathing. However the race was fundamentally flawed, they had a desire to drink blood that their original, the Crimson Moon, had. The True Ancestors needed to use a large portion of their power to suppress this impulse, but as there was no cure, and with passage of time the impulse grew, more and more True Ancestors fell and began drinking blood indiscriminately, while others most likely went into eternal sleep.

    The True Ancestors didn't have a specific reason in creating Arcueid. They normally only mold new True Ancestors to fit specific needs. There was no need for a being as strong as her, but in the end, she originated from nothingness, simply as a product to realize the pointless goal of "the strongest True Ancestor." They used her great strength to make her into a weapon, the executioner of fallen True Ancestors and of the most powerful Dead Apostles. According to Ciel, this happened in the 12th century AD, when the number of fallen True Ancestors was very high. She was able to perform this duty splendidly, but she was nothing more than a tool. She was taught nothing beyond what she needed to know to hunt her targets, to the extent that she even ignored the fact that she was the same kind of creature as those she was supposed to destroy, and went to sleep after every kill, with her accumulated memories erased.

    As the executioner, she did not have any vampiric impulses, and the rest of the True Ancestors also believed she had none. A priest from the church seeking perfect immortality, Michael Roa Valdamjong, needed to become a Dead Apostle to continue his research as he had already reached the potential of his human body. Arcueid, ignorant of her nature as a vampire and the consequences of drinking blood, was easily tricked by Micheal Roa Valdamjong into drinking his and turned berserk, wiping out most of the True Ancestors, turning Micheal Roa Valdamjong into one of the strongest Dead Apostles and having a considerable portion of her power stolen by him, before she managed to regain her sanity long enough to chain herself to the throne and go to sleep. From then on she had to suppress her urge to drink blood like any other True Ancestors. The rest of the True Ancestors were wiped out either by Micheal Roa Valdamjong or the rest of the Dead Apostles, who made a game of trying to assassinate their creators.

    Arcueid finally managed to destroy Micheal Roa Valdamjong's original body, although it took an alliance with the Burial Agency to do it. Roa was not killed however, as he had managed to master reincarnation, and constantly reincarnated into host bodies he chose before his deaths. These host bodies were chosen for a mix of social standing (rich families with influence) and the physical/magical potential of the body. After destroying Micheal Roa Valdamjong's original body, Arcueid went to sleep and awoke only to kill Micheal Roa Valdamjong's re-incarnations constantly, but was never able to destroy him and get her power back as he would simply re-incarnate each time. At the time of Tsukihime, Micheal Roa Valdamjong had re-incarnated 17 times, with his last re-incarnation being SHIKI Tohno (although currently, Micheal Roa Valdamjong is dead).

    Originally named Sion Eltnam Sokaris (シオン・エルトナム・ソカリス, Shion Erutonamu Sokarisu), Sion Eltnam Atlasia (シオン・エルトナム・アトラシア) is an alchemist of Atlas located in Egypt, one of the three main branches of the Mage's Association. She is a genius scientist and she excelled within Atlas. She is given a position equal to the representative of Atlas at an extremely young age, eight years before Melty Blood. This event gave her the name of Atlasia, allowed to be used only by those who were the head of Atlas. As she hailed from the disgraced Eltnam family, she had long harbored doubts about her situation, and was troubled by the fact that she didn't know what the problem was.

    Apperance: Sion is a woman with long, bright purple hair kept in a long braid, white skin and purple eyes. Her regular outfit consists of a white skirt, purple shoes and stockings, and a white blouse with a purple overshirt and cap; the last two are emblazoned with the symbol of Atlas. Sion wears a mustard yellow scarf tied in a manner reminiscent of a cravat, and adorns each of her wrists with a toroidal, yellow bracelet.

    While in her vampire form, her skin is pale and her eye color changes to red. The parts of her clothes that would normally be purple are instead brown, and over her body some lines, possibly veins or arteries, become visible.

    Personality: Her personality is overly serious and logical. Sion is frequently composed and calculating, always determined for perfection but deep down she's a warmhearted genius scholar. Having fun doesn't come naturally to her at all. However, that doesn't mean she's incapable of it. Perhaps it's more accurate to say she's a chairman-of-the-committee type, who really does want to have fun deep down. She is, in fact, moderately emotional and enormously easy to set off. She is a self-satisfied character, but whenever Shiki makes a remarkable statement, she gets displeased. Although she had lived most of her life in isolation, she gained her first true friend in Shiki. Unlike the other Tsukihime heroines who are always at odd with each other, she's a rare type capable of getting along with everybody in her own way. Sion originally thought of Riesbyfe as a reliable companion but it was only when they were torn apart is when they realized they had become friends. Sion shares the same elitism like the other Atlas alchemist and looks down on Michael Roa Valdamjong on principle, even though they both subscribe to the common idea that "everything flows".

    Abillities: Abilities: Sion's method of fighting is entirely different from those Shiki Tohno fought during Tsukihime. It consists of chipping away the opponent's fighting strength rather than their body like everyone else does. Any situation can change within a second, similar to a wiring diagram showing all possibilities. From this sea of possibilities, Sion calculates the most likely outcome of events using Thought Acceleration and Memory Partition and chooses the most suitable attack. She does not see the future in combat, but is simply one step ahead. For Alchemists, fighting consists of assembling the proper ingredients ahead of time. Neither strong physically nor in Magecraft, they predict the future to steer it away from the worst outcome. If there is no predicted "future with victory", the alchemist of Atlas will not fight. Shiki describes this fighting style as very close to gambling, to which Sion agrees. Sion wields Barrel Replica (バレルレプリカ, Bareru Repurika) as one of her primary weapons. This Mystic Code is a replica of the Black Barrel, one of the seven superweapons on display at the Atlas Institute. It is a Conceptual Weapon of "natural lifespan", which demonstrates a toxin (attack power) in proportion to the predestined span of the target's life. Sion uses this Barrel Replica in her Arc Drive, but it seems that she isn't utilizing its original function. Furthermore, although she discharges the energy horizontally in her Last Arc, Barrel Replica Obelisk, she is able to avoid being blown back by the recoil by anchoring her body to the ground with Etherlite. Though it is incapable of wiping out Night of Wallachia, it can hamper the program by many years. One of Sion's weapons in the Etherlite (エーテライト, Ēteraito), a technique handed down in the Eltnam family. It consists of an artificial Nervous system with the shape of a nano-scale filament one micron thick that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Although it's used like a whip, it is actually designed to attach to the opponent's skin, integrate with their central nervous system, and read their thoughts and memories. It is because of this technique that the name Eltnam has become synonymous with Spiritron Hacking. Though the thought-reading function seems vile enough, its ability to "merge with and copy memories and experiences" is actually even more dangerous. This inhumane and demonic "acquisition of another's life", which even the Atlas Institute shuns, is a technique unique to the Eltnam family. The Etherlite is connected to Sion through her bracelet, and the maxiumum range is 5,000 meters, so it is a simple matter for it to fill the entire body of the target.

    The Etherlite can also be used to control the target's body. Furthermore, Sion can send electricty through the filament to burn victim's brain. Once connected, it cannot be removed except by Sion, and if it is cut, it will burn the entire host's body. While it may not be effective against Arcueid Brunestud, it is quite effective against Humans. Sion states that while it would take some work to burn Shiki Tohno's brain, the chances of success are very high.

    FULL BACKGROUND: Three years before Melty Blood, the Church organization learned that the next appearance of Night of Wallachia took place in a small mountain village in Italy. The Church petitioned Atlas for help with a vampire hunt due to their connection to Wallachia rather than the Prague alchemists, the angst-filled Sion volunteered her services. Sion and Riesbyfe Stridberg took part in the assignment to demolish the vampire. Both organizations confronted the TATARI, one of the 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors, as they only had normal Conceptual Weapons, they were unable to affect the phenomenon no matter how many times they defeated its materializations. Three days later, the mission was unsuccessful and TATARI annihilated the village and slaughtered everybody including the dispatched Knights of the Church. Riesbyfe sacrificed herself to save Sion and faced Wallachia alone so that Sion could escape. This vampire, Wallachia was the one who made her into one of his kind. She never returned to the Mage's Association from that day on and she is presently being chased both by the Church and Mage's Association. She feels a constant thirst for blood, and is searching for a cure before she becomes a vampire.

    Three years after that incident and before of events of Melty Blood started, Sion arrived in Misaki Town during her search for Arcueid Brunestud, hoping that she may know a cure for vampirism, to turn her back into a human once more. She is also seeking out Wallachia to take revenge. Arriving in Misaki, she ended up meeting with Satsuki Yumizuka for the first time in the back alleys. Because both her ​​and Satsuki have had the same kind of tragic fate (being turned into vampires and escaping the current society), both quickly became friends and formed the Back Alley Alliance. They were acquainted when she was still alive even before Sion arrived to Japan, Sion is Satsuki's pen-pal friend. It seems that ever since the Back Alley Alliance was founded, safety in the alleys has improved remarkably. It was also thanks to Satsuki that Sion got the basic information about Shiki Tohno, Arcueid, Ciel, Akiha Tohno and their involvements in cases caused by Michael Roa Valdamjong and Nrvnqsr Chaos in Tsukihime.

    Sion is the heroine of Melty Blood, the game in which she first appears. She appeared in Misaki Town and met Tohno Shiki in Shinre Skyscraper when he was investigating the case of the return of the vampire serial killer in town. After a fight, they both agreed to help each other. As the Night of Wallachia appeared within the city of Misaki Town it was able to manifest the fear present in several of the main characters’ hearts, creating entities such as an evil Arcueid who had succumbed to her bloodlust, a form of the bloodthirsty assassin side of Shiki, and even the memory of Nrvnqsr Chaos. He even managed to make her succumb to her vampiric impulses for the first time, and made her fight against Shiki. Wallachia was eventually destroyed when Arcueid used her Marble Phantasm to prematurely summon Crimson Moon, stripping Wallachia of his power, after which he was killed by Shiki and Sion. She later returned to Atlas and persuaded the commission boards, as they denounced her for leaving Atlas, by presenting them Zepias's TATARI System, the destruction caused by Crimson Moon's return, and the concept for the self-contained computing unit named, the Osiris Sand System. In the end her name Eltnam, which she hates, and her Atlasia crown are the ones who did the favour for her. She gave away the intellectual property rights for all of them to the commission boards, yet her body still remembers what happens to her even if she tries to forget the memories. The information from Riesbyfe, which she stole from Wallachia, is still occupying two of her thought portions and thanks to it, her abilities have decreased. Yet, she is glad that the machine known as Sion Eltnam Atlasia is destroyed and that she is reborn as her current self. But it is still the fact that her current self is an alchemist who is at the same time a half-vampire with weak vampiric impulses. She still retains her vampire sense of smell even in her human form.

    ##Apperance: Riesbyfe Stridberg has white hair that is often kept in a short pony tail. Her skin is fair and she has slightly dull blue eyes. She is often fully clothed, leaving only her neck and face exposed. She sports sleak, black trousers. She also sports a white dress that extends down to just below the knees which is split in the middle to allow her more forward movement with her legs. This dress is held firmly by a belt at her waist. She sports a black coat with a collar and whitr lins going down the coat's arms in a shape similar to a cross, stopping at her sleves. She wears grey gloves which are black in the palm side. She wears unique grey boots which have a flap at the front which portrude upwards in a triangular shape which hugs her legs.

    ##Personality: Riesbyfe is said to be someone who lives in the moment and doesn't think too much about tomorrow. This attitude tends to make her seem prudent to others, but at heart she's a sloppy and difficult person who doesn't think about the consequences, following emotion rather than logic. When asked if she likes working, Riesbyfe replies that although she'd prefer to do nothing at all, work is satisfying in its own way since it takes her mind off things.

    Riesbyfe is shown to be very protective and puts others before herself. She sacrifices her life to give Sion a chance to escape the Night of Wallachia three years before the events of Melty Blood. In her Actress Again scenario. Riesbyfe embodies the aspects of a virtuous knight. She is exceptionally honorable among the Knights Templar, with Ciel commenting that she shows more honesty than one would expect from the Knights, and that not many besides her would desire a one-on-one duel anymore. Riesbyfe also shows regret when Nrvnqsr Chaos comments that a Knight should never appear so far from Holy Ground in the Far East. Additionally, Riesbyfe is also a devout adherent of God and is said to be a "believer among believers" by Ciel. When asked if drunk by Akiha in Actress Again, Riesbyfe replies that she doesn't drink.

    After being taken into the Back Alley Alliance and seperating from the Church, Riesbyfe is depicted as becoming depressed. Arcueid comments that Riesbyfe appears like she's always on duty, with Riesbyfe replying that it's like an old song stuck in her head, which she can't fully break away from. Arcueid replies that it's natural for Riesbyfe to feel that way about something she would have died for.

    Riesbyfe is always depicted has having a strong affection for Neco-Arc, becoming a different person entirely when one appears. She finds them "gross and cute" and has an extremely aggressive way of showing affection to the creatures, punching their cheeks and hugging them with extreme force. Such is her violent affection that the Neco-Arcs consider her a greater threat to their existence than anyone else. When confronted with one of these creatures, it usually takes either someone else or a rejection from a Neco-Arc to snap her out from the love-drunk stupor.

    ##Background: Riesbyfe was taken into the church by Cardinal Gessebarne, and is said to be his favorite. When Ciel asserts that Riesbyfe is a "well-bred young lady" who is "lax from peace," Riesbyfe refutes this notion and says she is uncertain how she even lived before the Cardinal's adoption. She is said to have defeated roughly the same amount of vampires as Ciel during her time as a knight.

    Three years before Melty Blood, the Church learned that the next appearance of TATARI took place in a small mountain village in Italy. The Church sought the aid of Atlas due to their connection to TATARI rather than the Prague alchemists, and Sion Eltnam Atlasia responded to their request. Riesbyfe Stridberg, along with Sion, intervened when TATARI appeared, but as they only had normal Conceptual Weapons, they were unable to affect the phenomenon no matter how many times they defeated its materializations. Three days later, TATARI annihilated the village and the dispatched Knights of the Church, and destroyed those who permeated it. Riesbyfe sacrificed herself to save Sion from one of the materializations of the Night of Wallachia.

    But Riesbyfe still lived within TATARI, being protected from being completely absorbed by TATARI by her Holy Shield, Gamaliel. Michael Roa Valdamjong, or rather a materialization of TATARI based on him, notes in Riesbyfe's Story Mode in Melty Blood Actress Again she is "alive", making her a TATARI materialization different from the others like himself.

    She is a friend of Sion Eltnam Atlasia and died rescuing her from Wallachia prior to Melty Blood. Sion originally thought of Riesbyfe as a reliable companion, only realizing after her death that they had become close friends.

    At the climax of Melty Blood, Sion recreates Riesbyfe's information to defeat Wallachia, using fragments of Gamaliel as a bullet for her Black Barrel Replica. This conceptual weapon was said to contain her entire being.

    ##Abilities: Riesbyfe appears to be very strong for a human, but possesses Magic Circuits that are inferior to Aoko Aozaki's in comparison. Although she says Ciel is still physically stronger, Riesbyfe claims that her fists can punch with 2 to 5 tons of force. Arcueid Brunestud, however, claims that she is able to punch with 100 tons of force, although Riesbyfe says that's more like Arcueid's power than her own.

    ##Equipment She uses a Conceptual Weapon named True Apocrypha (正式外典, Seishiki Gaiten), also known as Spear Key, Gun Shield, or Gamaliel, a pile bunker shaped like a string instrument. The shield was forged from two apocryphal scriptures, the Apocalypse of Paul and the Greek Gospel of the Egyptians, and was revived by Riesbyfe.

    To use this weapon, Riesbyfe spends an hour preening herself every day in order to harmonize with the shield. Gamaliel appears to be extremely durable, blocking the Dead Apostle Ancestor Zepia's strongest ability "Night on the Blood Lair" with no visible damage. Gamaliel also appears to be able to negate magecraft and even sorcery to some degree. The shield's power is said to be the only reason Riesbyfe is able to defeat Aoko in her win quote, making up the difference from Riesbyfe's inferior magic circuits. Additionally, the shield appears to stop the user from aging, with Riesbyfe commenting that "you could live a lifetime and never show it."

    The shield possesses the ability to counter an enemy's attack by manifesting large glyphs which damage the aggressor. Gamaliel is also able to briefly materialize the illusion of a deserted ruin at sunrise upon the usage of its power, but details are unknown. These powers are utilized in Riesbyfe's Arc Drive and Last Arc.

    Due to the shield being a Conceptual Weapon pile bunker, she could easily use the shield to impale her opponents with its blue stake, or even swing it upwards to cause a devestating slice.

    ###Basic Information Satsuki Yumizuka (弓塚 さつき), also known as "Sacchin" (さっちん, her nickname, a contraction of "Satsuki-chan"), is a student at Misaki Municipal High School, and a stalker of Shiki Tohno. She is also the leader of the Back Alley Alliance.

    ##Apperance: Satsuki's overall appearance is mundane. She wears a school outfit, consisting of a white shirt with a yellow jumper over it, a cute blue bowtie, and a blue miniskirt, along with shoes and socks. She also has heavily twin-tailed brown hair and brown eyes, though they became red eyes after her transformation into a vampire.

    ##Personality: She has an unrequited crush on Shiki, who only sees her as another classmate. She plays somewhat different roles in the game and the anime. She is shy and has somewhat of an inferiority complex. She is also quite popular between her classmates because of her affable personality, but she does not seem to care about it.

    ##Background: Satsuki's crush on Shiki began when her sports club was trapped inside a room after-hours in the winter, freezing cold as they had all still been in their gym outfits. When it seemed as though nobody was going to come and rescue them, Shiki suddenly appeared and freed them by cutting the lines of the lock. She developed feelings for him from that moment onward, but he had never really noticed her. One day she finally worked up the courage to walk home with Shiki, and convinced him to promise her that if she is ever in trouble, he will come and help her. When she goes to investigate rumors about Shiki wandering around town late at night, S.H.I.K.I appears and bites her, turning her into a vampire. Most people simply die or possibly turn into a weak zombie when bitten, but Satsuki was an extremely rare exception who not only became a vampire, but quickly gained control over her powers as well.

    Later on, she seems to have become good friends with fellow tragic vampire Sion Eltnam Atlasia, and together forms the "Back Alley Alliance". During the Hologram Summer TATARI event, she notices that Sion had gone somewhere and searches for her, Encountering Roa (who she remembers as a tragic vampire like herself who is forgotten by nearly everyone and tries to befriend) and Riesbyfe along the way, until Dust of Osiris is eventually defeated. Afterwards, she is seen roaming the cities with Sion Eltnam Atlasia and Riesbyfe Stridberg (the newest member of the Back Alley Alliance).

    ##Abilities: Satsuki's exact status remains a mystery, but she had quickly advanced in rank as a vampire, going directly from human to being a Dead Apostle. This is due to her possessing an inherent Psychic ability, an additional "channel" is her brain, that made her naturally suitable to become a Vampire. Instead of acting under the Parent Vampire, her amazing "spiritual conception" as a result of her psychic ability made her into an independent vampire immediately. She is one of 27 to 30 individuals in the whole world who possesses this special idiosyncrasy to become a Dead Apostle.

    "Sacchin Arm" (さっちんアーム, Satchin armu) is a name attached to all of Satsuki's various throwing skills.

    "Sacchin's Arm - Grasping the Endless Dream" (見果てぬユメを掴むさっちんアーム, Mihatenu Yume wo Tsukamu Sacchin Arm) is a move she extends her arm forward and grabs at the air with such force than anyone in its effective range gets pulled to her grip. From there, she can throw them, slam them, do whatever she wants with them.

    "Sacchin's Arm - Chasing the Unreachable Dream" (届かないユメを追うさっちんアーム, Todokanai Yume wo Ou Sacchin Arm) is a move she extends her arm upwards and grabs at the air with such force than anyone in its effective range gets pulled to her grip. From there, she can throw them, slam them, do whatever she wants with them.

    "Let's go~!" (行っくよ～！, Ikkuyo~!) is a move where Satsuki swings her arm and absolutely slams forward with her fist. The longer she charged the move (via more arm spinning), the most chaotic the move will be.

    "Sacchin Dunk - Dropping What I Hold" is a move that is nearly identical to "Sacchin's Arm - Chasing the Unreachable Dream", but she does a jump before proceeding, making it an air to air type attack.

    "Do not disturb ...!" (邪魔しないで……！, Jama shinai de......!) is an AoE move where she ground pounds the floor with her fists numerous times, often causing large amounts of dust to accumulate, while also causing shockwaves.

    "Sorry, but just one bite!" (一口だけごめんなさいっ！) is a move where she grabs the opponent in a vice-like grip by the waist, before she bites into their neck once, quickly sipping on the opponents blood, healing her while also lessening her of her Vampiric Impulses. She can continue to drink for as long as she wants.

    "Don't come near me!" (近づかないでっ！) is a move similar to her "Do not disturb ...!" move, but she slams the floor in a more precise and controlled manner, causing the dust that is accumulated to be sent forwards as a shockwave attack.

    "I'm Very Angry!" (怒ったんだから……！) is a move where she lunges forward a large distance, before grabbing the opponent's neck, throwing them into the air, before barraging them with her fists several dozens of times, before finishing them off with a more powerful version of her "Let's go~!" move, sending them hurtling across the air.

    ##Special Ability: REALITY MARBLE She has a Reality Marble, Depletion Garden (枯渇庭園, Kokatsu Teien), which rapidly decreases the mana of the area where the Reality Marble is expanded. It is similar to Akiha Tohno's Plundering ability, but drains and dissipates the mana in the environment rather than absorbing the magical energy of a single target. It is extremely effective against Magi who need mana to attack or Elementals that require it in order to exist, but it has no actual effect on creatures that are cut off from the world, such as humans who don't survive on mana. This is uncommon even for powerful vampires and would rank her close to the Dead Apostle Ancestors as she even possesses the Mystic Eyes of Enchantment.

    ##Apperance Akiha has long black hair (that turns red in her Crimson Red Vermillion form) decorated with a white hairband. During school, she wears the standard Asagami uniform, even when she later transfers to Shiki's school. Her casual clothes consist of a white shirt with a red ribbon on the necktie and a long red skirt with knee-high brown lace-up boots underneath.

    ##Personality Akiha is very protective of her brother. She is always intent on knowing what he does with his day, and is extremely suspicious of what he does at night. She gets incredibly jealous when he is around other girls. The constant supervision by his little sister sometimes bears hard on Shiki, but she only watches over him because she worries so much about him. Although she expects Shiki to adapt to the Tohno way of life, she is willing to make compromises if it will make him more comfortable, even offering to order him a television despite her dislike of such things. She also plays the violin in her spare time.

    Her father remarked in his journal that Akiha's Tohno blood was of the weaker sort and she could live as a normal human if she wished it. But that changed when Shiki's life was threatened in the "accident" from eight years earlier. She was outside playing with Shiki, her adopted brother, and her real brother, S.H.I.K.I, but the Tohno blood was much stronger in her real brother and he inverted to his non-human form. In this uncontrollable state, he lost control of himself and attempted to attack Akiha. Shiki jumped in the way to protect her and took the full force of the attack. Shiki died protecting Akiha, but Akiha used powers granted to her by her non-human blood to give him half of her life, allowing him to survive.

    After the incident, her true brother S.H.I.K.I was locked away so that he could never again hurt someone and Akiha severed all ties with him and has since said that Shiki, her adopted brother, is the only person she will ever call her brother. Due to this accident, she needs twice the amount of heat of an average person because she is supporting both her own life and Shiki's. To make up for her increased demand, she must absorb heat from others. She can take this heat in through various means, even by simply absorbing their body heat through contact, but the most efficient method is by drinking fresh blood. Because of the strain on her body, this causes, she often experiences attacks of intense pain that can last from a few minutes to several hours. But Akiha bears them bravely, knowing that it is all for the sake of her beloved brother.

    Akiha is also a rather judgmental person, having a tendency to hate people very quickly before she's ever really gotten a chance to know them; she instantly takes a disliking to both Arcueid and Ciel, Ciel due to being a member of an organization who opposes non-humans like herself and Arcueid because of how whimsical she is and how close she is to Shiki. Furthermore, if Akiha doesn't like someone, she will not hesitate to make it known, much to Shiki's exasperation. She is also very self-conscious about her flat chest.

    Though she tries to conceal it, Akiha called her brother back because she truly loves him and wanted to be near him no matter how much it might alienate her from the rest of the family. She is incredibly shy about her feelings, even acting in complete contradiction to them on occasion. In spite of this, to her, Shiki is the most important person in the world.

    ##Background Born into the prestigious Tohno family, Akiha lived a sheltered childhood under the strict supervision of her father Makihisa Tohno and was seldom allowed to go outside the mansion to play. She was also subconsciously afraid of her brother S.H.I.K.I, because of his strange and different behaviour. When Shiki Nanaya was adopted into the family, she initially disliked him because he had the same name as her brother. One day while she quietly waited for her tutor to arrive, Shiki took her hand, inviting her to play with him and S.H.I.K.I and Hisui, the other children at the mansion. Thanks to Shiki she was able to experience at least some semblance of the joys of childhood. Unfortunately, not soon afterward Shiki was near fatally wounded in an accident and was sent by Makihisa to live with the Arimas, relatives from another branch of the family. Akiha tried to visit Shiki at the Arima house several times early on, but pressure from her father and other relatives, in addition to Shiki's constant visits to the hospital, prevented their meeting. Contact was made all but impossible when Akiha was placed in a boarding school and she was forced to live on the campus. Akiha also states that she sent Shiki many letters, but because he was ordered by Makihisa to never speak to Akiha again, he never replied.

    Sometime later, Akiha and Hisui learned that Makihisa raped Kohaku daily in order to maintain his demon blood. Akiha freed Kohaku from Makihisa, and allowed her to live as a normal maid. Upon the death of Makihisa, Akiha became the head of the Tohno household and, ignoring protests from the remaining relatives, called Shiki back to live at the family mansion with her.

    During the events of Melty Blood, she also ends up meeting Sion Eltnam Atlasia, forming a friendship of respect. Their relationship is a lot better than that of Akiha and Arcueid or Ciel, because she believes that Sion wants nothing more with Shiki than just his friendship to help solve cases of vampires and TATARI.

    ##Combat Shiki Tohno states that Akiha is the strongest person in the Tohno mansion. Normally, Akiha unconsciously suppresses her strength, unlike Vermillion Akiha. Akiha has high regenerative abilities that allow her to heal in one night a wound that would otherwise take a regular human several weeks to regenerate.

    ##Main Ability: Caging Hair Akiha's main ability is Caging Hair (檻髪, Origami), a cursed field that Plunders the heat (lifeforce) from those whithin the range of her field of vision. Though the plundering is based on sight, if somebody with spiritual vision were to observe it, they would see it as something similar to red threads twining around and consuming the target in a fiery aura.

    At their maximum output, these threads are capable of covering not just the target, but the entire environment the target is in, making escape impossible – thus the name Origami, or "Caging Hair". During the last day of the Kohaku route, the reason Shiki Tohno couldn't escape from the school building was that the school building itself had been totally covered by Akiha's Origami. The outlandish spectacle from that time makes its reappearance during Akiha's Last Arc. In the events of Melty Blood, it became both Akiha and Vermillion Akiha's Arc Drive, under the name "Red Lord Origami". For just a moment, she fully unleashes her power and "Plunders" the opponent. Against normal people with no spiritual defenses, this is an absolute method of attack, but against somebody like Arcueid Brunestud whose Spiritual Rank is on a whole other level, it would merely be a hindrance similar to the World being filled with spider webs. However, with the support of a sympath (i.e. Kohaku with her Synchronizer abilities), it might be able to actually tie her down.

    While empowered by Kohaku, S.H.I.K.I Tohno is no match for Akiha. The difference between their abilities is too great. Whereas S.H.I.K.I needs to get close to kill, Akiha merely has to look. Akiha's killing ability, no matter how someone may think about it, is many times superior to SHIKI's. The only way to kill Akiha would be a surprise attack. During their fight in Akiha's route, Akiha left S.H.I.K.I on the brink of death and gasping for air with a single attack. S.H.I.K.I counterattacked by leaping forward in a flash of speed Shiki Tohno can't even follow, but Akiha simply glanced down at him, burning his body.

    Akiha's ability has two weaknesses. Firstly, her power works proportionally to the clearness of her vision. In the middle of the night, her aura doesn't move as fast as her eyes, as they would otherwise in the day. Secondly, Akiha is not a true flame user, so a surprise attack cannot end up in mutual death if she dies before her attacker. It takes her time to drain her opponent completely, so it would be possible to kill her before she does.

    ##Special Form: Vermillion Akiha Vermillion Akiha (紅赤朱秋葉, Kurenai Sekishu Akiha) is what becomes of Akiha when she has given into her Mixed-Blood of Tohno family. Her hair turns crimson red during this. In this state, Akiha is close to becoming a Crimson Red Vermilion. Through sheer willpower alone, she is able to control her rampage and avoid fully becoming one. Or rather, for Akiha this form is actually what she looks like when she's conserving her strength, and her normal form is the result of her actively using her power to suppress her Oni blood. It's quite similar to the situation with Arcueid Brunestud and her Vampiric Impulses. Properly speaking, becoming a Crimson Red Vermillion means completely losing your ability to reason, but it seems even in this state Akiha still has some sanity left. This, too, is probably by virtue of her high aptitude for it.

    Normally, Akiha unconsciously suppresses her strength, however, Shiki claims that once she gets serious, no one can beat her. When she fights someone she doesn't know, she doesn't hold back. Due to this, Shiki states that Sion Eltnam Atlasia probably couldn't beat her. Taking this information into account, Sion states that Akiha is an opponent she cannot face without preparation. Even Ciel would get killed if she faced a serious Akiha.

    Since Kohaku and Hisui cannot defeat Akiha and Shiki Tohno working together, Kohaku summons Mech-Hisui, her ultimate weapon, to fight them instead. Kohaku orders Mech-Hisui to fight serious Akiha, Shiki, and Sion Eltnam Atlasia simultaneously inflicting an amount of pain that won't be fatal. While she is defeated, Shiki states that it was a very taxing battle, both physically and mentally.

    ##Special Form: G-Akiha G-Akiha is an alternate form of Akiha that has been modified by Kohaku's Makikyuu X. This strengthening drug was Kohaku's final backup plan in Melty Blood to defeat Shiki Tohno. It is a rare item made from a mixture of wormwood, brandy, scallops, shrimp, and various leftover chemical substances from the last 5 years and divided in half. It is used to enlarge living things, making Akiha 10 times bigger and stronger than normal. While Kohaku states that its effects are somewhat permanent, there is an antidote that Kohaku can give to revert her back to normal.

    ##Apperance Kohaku has short pink hair, like her sister Hisui. She wears a blue ribbon at the back of her head and wears a brown western maid uniform.

    ##Personality Kohaku is always seen to be smiling and cheerful, being especially gifted with medicine which she learned from Sougen Jinan. She has a habit of breaking many (and valuable) objects when cleaning indoors. Though she always states that it was not intended, some characters, like Akiha, seems to think otherwise.

    However, all of it is an act. In truth, Kohaku's smile is empty, as she was mentally scarred and traumatized at a young age due to constantly being raped by Makihisa. Eventually, she stopped feeling emotions, and put up a false smile as well as a cheerful demeanor.

    She claims to have hated Shiki for the silent connection they shared as children (watching one another but never meeting), but it is revealed that she is actually in love with him, and it is in part why she wanted to take on Hisui's role in the first place. Kohaku simply wanted to innocently love the boy named Tohno Shiki, just as Hisui did as a young girl.

    ##Background Kohaku was a member of a branch family of the Fujou clan, but was brought with her sister Hisui to live in the Tohno mansion, because the Fujou clan had a special power of giving others energy. Makihisa Tohno needed this ability in order to keep control of his body. This transfer of energy is strongest though the means of sexual intercourse.

    Due to it, as a child she was constantly raped by Makihisa, and unlike the other children, she had to watch them from afar as they played together. Just before Shiki Tohno leaves the mansion to live with the Arima family, Kohaku gives him her favorite ribbon and makes him promise to return it, indirectly begging for him to return.

    Some time later, Makihisa decided to give more freedom to Kohaku, but in order to do it, she had to take care of an imprisoned S.H.I.K.I (who was imprisoned due to the Shiki incident and the fact Makihisa did not want to kill his son). However, some time later, due to having to keep control of his body, just like his father; S.H.I.K.I raped Kohaku. This drove her further into despair and decided to get revenge on the Tohno family. To do it, she twisted and brainwashed S.H.I.K.I with her medicinal herbs, all for the sake of her revenge. Some time later, Akiha and Hisui learned of Makihisa's sin against Kohaku, and it depressed them greatly. Akiha freed Kohaku from Makihisa and she became a normal servant. But Hisui was still depressed so Kohaku, seeing her sister's free enthusiasm falter for her sake, promises Hisui that she will "take on her role" until she was cheerful again. Ironically, it is because of those words that Hisui is unable to return to her old self.

    Due to her intervention, S.H.I.K.I killed Makihisa, which was the reason why Shiki returned to the Tohno mansion.

    ##Abilities Kohaku normally lacks any sort of combat capabilities. She is a Synchronizer, which allows her to transfer energy through the exchange of bodily fluids. While it can be done with those of the same sex through a transfer of blood, it is most effective through sexual intercourse with someone of the opposite gender. She is a skilled pharmacist.

    She is said to be the greatest human cook in the Nasuverse, surpassed only by Shiki Ryougi when she gets serious (which rarely ever happens).

    During the events of Melty Blood, she gained the ability to make mechas, eventually leading to the creation of lots of Mech-Hisui (and at some point, a Mech-Shiki).

    Kohaku is in charge of managing the Tohno mansion's gardens, but she also cultivates her own secret garden as a hobby, like her own personal Mekong Delta. Though originally it was created for the sake of making medicine, due to the influence of the Tatari there was an outbreak of strange monsters. It goes by the name of Psycho Garden. This garden is also where Kohaku's various chemicals magical drugs are manufactured, the source of both Makikyuu X and Tonamin Z. Thanks to a collaboration with Sion, you can expect the development of even more devilish drugs in the future. She has a technique called I Tried My Best To Raise This! (こんなん育ててみました?) where Kohaku whips out various bizarre plants such as fireball-shooting Piranha Plants to aid her. Magical Onslaught (マジカル攻撃?) is a name for all the dubious techniques used by Kohaku. Though they're called things like Magical Attack and Magical Missile, no matter how you look at them they're chemical weapons. Unsealed Kohaku Kick (開打靠靭琥珀脚, "Unsealed Amber Kick") is Kohaku's Arc Drive. After changing into blue Chinese clothes, she unleashes a vaguely familiar series of techniques.

    ##Personality Hisui appears as a stern young woman, but actually she is a kind, loving and emotional girl, hiding her emotions to keep her sister as she is, due to the incident with Makihisa. Seeing Kohaku acting happy as Hisui was as a young girl, she cannot bring herself to return to her former self. Even if Kohaku is simply acting out her old role, she seems to have attained some level of happiness.

    ##Background Hisui was a member of a branch family of the Fujou clan, but was brought with her sister Kohaku to live in the Tohno mansion, because the Fujou clan had a special power of giving others energy. Makihisa Tohno needed this ability in order to keep control of his body.

    Hisui, however, was never forced to utilize her abilities as a Synchronizer because of the pleas of Kohaku and instead found herself living as a normal girl. When Shiki Nanaya arrived to the Tohno house, at first he was unwilling to adapt to his new home, still traumatized for the death of his father. However Hisui was the one who encouraged Shiki to go out and play in the house. Her childhood was pleasant, and even though she is not naturally an active person, upon seeing Shiki playing so energetically she did her best to keep up with him.

    After Shiki went to live with the Arimas, Hisui learned that Makihisa raped Kohaku so she becomes depressed. Kohaku, noticing this, promises Hisui that she will "take on her role" until she was cheerful again. Ironically, it is because of those words that Hisui is unable to return to her old self.

    During the events of Melty Blood, she gains the ability to fight on par with all of the other strong inhabitants of Misaki. She makes use of a number of household items such as cleaning implements, cooking utensils, and even furniture like chair and tables as melee weapons. She brings them out of thin air, allowing her to attack with a number of different items in succession. She also gains the ability Fake Reality Marble: Guru Guru Hisui World (偽固有結界・ぐるぐる翡翠ワールド, Nise Koyū Kekkai・Guru Guru Hisui Wārudo) and the Dark Jade Fist (暗黒翡翠拳, Ankoku Hisui Ken).

    Dark Jade Fist is an intresting move, reproducing the splendid action demonstrated by Hisui when she was possessed by the evil spirit, she stores up a mysterious energy while rotating both arm, then shoots it forward in a killer move. It appears that she is converting her complaints and dissatisfaction toward the excessively harsh manual labor she's put through every day in a similar manner to Wallachia's Malignant Information. It is useful for as projectile technique because it lingers after being launched to pressure the opponent. It has a stronger variant called the Grand Dark Jade Fist (大暗黒翡翠拳, Dai Ankoku Hisui Ken) showing the power to shake the earth itself.

    ##Apperance (CAT FORM) She resembles an ordinary black cat with red eyes and two white fluff balls hanging from a collar in her neck. The inside of her ears are white and fluffy, and she also has a black ribbon on her collar.

    ##Personality She doesn't speak often, only having seen speaking with others twice so far (once during her interaction with White Len during Re:ACT). She seems to have a liking for cakes, and she dislikes taking baths. Because she never talks, it's hard to really understand her personality, but basically she's the type of person that likes to quietly spend her time alone. Just like a cat, she is haughty and fickle, but prone to sudden bursts of attention-seeking craziness as well. She usually expresses her emotions through her facial featuees (ie, if she is annoyed, she will appear annoyed).

    ##Background She once served a Magus several centuries ago, and during that time, the magus helped Arcueid Brunestud defeating a top Dead Apostle by the name of Einnashe, and as a tradeoff for destroying Einnashe's Reality Marble, Arcueid promised to take care of Len after his death. Since then Len's active life has been short, as she only awakened at the same time as Arcueid got out for hunting Michael Roa Valdamjong. But as she was made a long time ago she is growing as a familiar, and also as an animal spirit. In addition, the magus who created Len was extraordinary, so Len has much latent potential. Although she was under Arcueid's charge, they were unable to create a contract, because Arcueid can't make a contract with a spirit of nature, which is the same type as her, therefore Black Len is not considered Arcueid's familiar. Additionally, Arcueid herself doesn't require a familiar so she won't order it to steal other people's life force and so she just lets it do whatever it wants.

    ##Abilities Black Len is a Succubus Demon Familiar with the ability to manipulate dreams, created from infusing the leftover thoughts of a deceased human girl into the body of a dead cat. As such, she is capable of shifting between the forms of a black cat and a prepubescent human girl. As a Succubus she is able to replenish magical energy on her own and she has actually no need to form a new contract, with a new master, to live on. She is also able to use glass magic + illusionary magic, along with fighting moves that resemble ballet.

    ##Personality White Len acts as a more selfish and outspoken version of Black Len. She carries a huge amount of pride, believing herself to be better than her counterpart, Len because of her acceptance of their personality. And she also prefers to act like a calm lady, that is speaking in metaphors about fairy tales. White Len also goes out of her way to prove her superiority over Black Len by gaining her own Master, Nanaya. Despite her prideful ways, she will respect those who she believes they are worthy of her respect, such as Satsuki Yumizuka. Though she isn't an official member of the Back alley alliance, White Len occasionally stops by for a visit.

    ##Background White Len is the creation of Aoko Aozaki. After the defeat of Night of Wallachia during the events of Melty Blood, Aoko Aozaki took his remains, and using them, she created a new form of life, which took on Len's appearance as well as her suppressed personality. As a result, she is more or less the opposite of Black Len - arrogant, outspoken, brash and loud. She has the combined powers of both Black Len (dream manipulation) as well as of Night of Wallachia/TATARI (the ability to create materialized beings from rumors).

    However, like Black Len, she also is a familiar, and so she needs a constant source of magical energy to stay alive. As a result, she created a dopplegänger of Shiki Tohno that reflects his Nanaya clan heritage and underlying personality, who she calls "Nanaya", and shares a symbiotic relationship with him: she feeds off of his magical energy to maintain her life, while he depends on her TATARI powers to keep his existence.

    During the events of Actress Again, White Len sets out to find Nanaya (who had escaped her realm to entertain himself), only to fight Neco-Arc, before getting utterly defeated. She vows that eventually, she would defeat Neco-Arc.

    ##Abilities: White Len's abilities are the combination of those of Black Len, as well as Wallachia/TATARI. These include dream manipulation, transformation into a cat, and attacks with the same ice magic & illusionary magic that Len uses.

    However, White Len is different than Black Len because of her connection to Zepia Eltnam Oberon and because of this she is also able to use some TATARI powers. The most prominent example of this is how she maintains Nanaya giving him the ability to exist outside of Zepia Eltnam Oberon's version of TATARI. She generates a dream barrier similar to a Reality Marble called Summer Snow (真夏の雪原), an open and barren snowy field. She uses the energy of nightmares that she has taken from others peoples to form this field. She has similar limitations as Tatari, in that she is not in full control over what appears under her powers. Beings may appear without her having brought them forth, and those that do appear are not bound to her will, allowing them to slay her if they so choose.

    ##Apperance Shiki Tohno is illustrated as a young man with an athletic build. He has unruly black hair that partially covers his forehead, with some locks falling just over the rim of his glasses, which have a simple, rectangular frame. He is dressed in a traditional Japanese school uniform, which consists of a neatly buttoned-up, dark blue gakuran jacket with a standing collar, and trousers matching the jacket in color.

    ##Personality Shiki is a fairly normal high school student most of the time. Due to his close brush with death, he is not overly concerned about dying, and instead seeks to cherish every moment of his life - 'just living is enough' is his perspective on life. He is playful with his sister Akiha and the maids Hisui and Kohaku, sometimes silly, and not at all above exchanging jibes with his best friend and classmate Arihiko Inui or pleasantries with his senpai Ciel. He's entirely capable of being serious in a serious situation, and just as often flustered or embarrassed. His personality is one of that who is slightly mean to those he loves. He is also a very, very heavy sleeper, to such a point that Hisui is unable to awaken him.

    He has a darker side, that of his bloodline's, the Nanaya. The instincts and skills he had learned at a young age are buried deep within Shiki and have proven capable of manifesting themselves in dire situations, such as in his battle against Nrvnqsr Chaos. Although not on the level of an alternate personality, the Nanaya side of Shiki is the highly trained killer within him and thus is much colder. Only once has his Nanaya side surfaced in a similar way to that of an alternate personality, and that was under great stress and a very difficult situation for Shiki. The other times, Shiki is merely filled with a desire to kill, and instinctual knowledge on how to do it. Sometimes, however, Shiki himself seems to refer to his dark side as "him", another person, namely when discussing with S.H.I.K.I, this would imply that he does not fully accept it as his own self. This aspect of his personality seems to have mostly disappeared (or at least rendered obsolete thanks to his mastery of his abilities) after the events of Tsukihime.

    Despite the absence of this trait in subsequent stories, however, a remnant of his Nanaya self seems to remain in his usual personality, particularly when he is facing those he considers his enemies. He can be surprisingly cold, giving those such as Nrvnqsr only quick, curt comments while expressing his intent to erase them, or, in the case of Roa, saying nothing at all while exuding a murderous killing intent. However, in each of these scenarios, not once has he ever succumbed to his Nanaya personality, retaining his own sense of self and will, and defeating his opponents on his own terms.

    Shiki Nanaya is a manifestation of Shiki Tohno's murderous intent and lives only for his next kill. Nanaya is smooth, confident, and treats life (and death) casually. Despite his physical condition, Shiki holds a cheerful outlook on life. More so than most of his peers, because he understands how fragile life really is.

    While Makihisa began grooming Akiha in earnest as the next family head, Shiki lived with the Arima family branch, which consisted of only a mother, father, and young daughter. The Arima, though related to the Tohno, had negligible demon blood, and he lived there in relative quiet and comfort for eight years.

    Despite his family's wealth, Shiki wishes to take up a job because he does not get a monthly allowance from Akiha. She only allows him what food is necessary for him, so extra spending money is unnecessary. She will willingly buy him anything else that he wishes, but he never asks her. They call him unselfish to the point it can be called a medical condition, and he would much work rather than have to ask her.

    ##Background Shiki is in fact not a real member of the Tohno family, is not Akiha's biological brother, and is not Makihisa's son. While the Tohno family is a family with demon blood, Shiki's real surname is Nanaya, a family of powerful demon-slaying assassins. It is revealed at some point that he is the son of Kiri Nanaya. The Nanaya clan lived in a secluded mansion in the mountains, but was one night destroyed by the Tohno and Kouma Kishima. Shiki was the only survivor of that attack. In a moment of amused irony, Makihisa spared and adopted the boy because his name was unisex with the name of Makihisa's eldest son, S.H.I.K.I (四季, SHIKI).

    Shiki lived in a small Japanese-style building on the grounds of the Tohno's western-style mansion for a time, learning to accept and be accepted by his new siblings. Although he was lonely and unwilling to leave his room at first, eventually he warmed to the cheerful red-haired girl Hisui who would come every day to ask him to play, and in turn lead his shy and often-nervous sister outside as well. He, his sister, his brother, and the red-haired girl would play together frequently.

    Eight years before the events of Tsukhime, he was involved in a life-threatening accident, which led to anemic symptoms and left him with a large scar on his chest. Due to these symptoms, he suffers from frequent collapsing and fainting. Although Shiki did not know it, the Tohno family's demon blood led to inhuman urges in all its members; every descendant eventually became insane from its effects, a process called "inversion impulse". When this happens, the person loses all ability for conscious thought and becomes a monster with only the mind to kill and consume others. One hot summer day as Shiki played with his brother SHIKI and sister Akiha, S.H.I.K.I inverted without warning, and immediately attacked Akiha. Shiki managed to shield Akiha at the cost of his own life; the wound that S.H.I.K.I caused by piercing him in the chest became the large scar that Shiki would bear from that day forward.

    It is the duty of the Tohno's family head to police demon activity in the area, and specifically to execute any Tohno who underwent inversion so that he or she cannot do the sort of damage that such inhuman beings inevitably do. Makihisa arrived on the scene immediately and, without a second thought, killed his own son. However, neither Shiki nor S.H.I.K.I died that day. Although Shiki did not know it then, his sister Akiha provided him with half of her own lifeforce, keeping him alive. In turn, S.H.I.K.I instinctively stole half of Shiki's borrowed lifeforce to avoid his own death. It is this lack of energy that causes Shiki's anemic tendencies.

    In addition to the physical problems, the accident also caused Shiki's eyes to develop a peculiar ability, the ability to see lines superimposed on objects and people. If Shiki traces these lines with a sharp tool, the object immediately falls apart along them regardless of the amount of force used. Upon discovery of this ability, Shiki understood how destructive it was and how fragile the world around him could be. Because his eyes would not return to normal, the realization began to gnaw at him.

    Fortunately, a few days after his time in the hospital, he ran outside and met Aoko Aozaki. Aoko (whom Shiki decided to call Sensei) comforted him during the next few days. Shiki was eager to impress Aoko, thus he demonstrated the ability of his eyes by destroying a tree. Aoko reprimanded him by slapping him and explained to him that what he had done was unjust. Aoko later provided a pair of magical glasses which, when worn, removed the lines from sight.

    When Makihisa realized this convoluted state of affairs, he concocted a ruse to deceive the outside world. As the head of a publicly important family, which held an influential position in business, he could not allow others to know that the eldest son of the family had become inhuman, died, or disappeared. To conceal this, Makihisa locked S.H.I.K.I away and hypnotized Shiki into believing that he was the Tohno's eldest son instead, erasing the details of that day from the boy's mind. After installing Shiki in S.H.I.K.I's place as eldest son, Makihisa then sent Shiki away to live with the Arima family branch under the pretext that a boy so dreadfully injured, and who could die at any time from a fragile constitution could not be the heir to the Tohno house. Despite the necessity of making Shiki believe in his new identity as a Tohno, however, Makihisa retains an antique knife inscribed with the name of the Nanaya clan, and later bequeathes it to Shiki, although the multiple meanings of Japanese kanji cause Shiki to misread the inscription as "Nanatsu-Yoru", or "Seven Nights".

    Because of his poor health, Shiki was removed from the Tohno household by his father, Makihisa Tohno, despite being the eldest son of the family. Instead, he was sent to live with a distant branch of the Tohno family named Arima. He frequented the practice of doctor Sougen Jinan during this time, and once had his first sexual experience with his daughter, Tokie Jinan. At the beginnning of the events of Tsukhime, Shiki was called back to the Tohno mansion after eight years of absence due to Makihisa's death, called back by his younger sister, Akiha Tohno. Although he had not seen his sister in those eight years, she has grown into a proper lady of a high-class family, and after removing all of the family residents and servants of the mansion except for a pair of maids, had chosen to invite him to return.

    In Melty Blood, Shiki's fighting abilities are enhanced due to having to fit with the story and allow him to act as a protagonist that can "fight normally," and he appears to be able to use the basics of the Nanaya Arts that he learned as a child without limitations. Shiki, who can participate in combat only by means of trump cards, a "3 of Hearts" in Tsukihime, can fight normally as a "Jack of Spades" in Melty Blood.

    Sion Eltnam Atlasia states that Shiki is undoubtedly superior to her at fighting. Therefore, she has to use alternative methods to obtain victory. For the people in Atlas, fighting consists on assembling the proper ingredients ahead of time. One hour before ambushing Shiki, Sion revised all the data she had from him and calculated every single of his maneuvers. The numbers indicated that they were evenly matched, but that thanks to her thorough knowledge her chances of winning were high. Having already simulated all of his patterns, Sion claims that it was only logical she defeated Shiki. Sion rates Shiki's choices in combat at merely 70%. Even with the ability to inflict instant death, his tactics are still easily predicted using Thought Acceleration and Memory Partition. Shiki thought that no matter what he did, she was always one step ahead, reading his every move. Sion's method of fighting is entirely different from those he had faced before. Despite defeating Shiki, Sion states that the possibility for defeat still lay everywhere in their previous fight. Incorrectly choosing a branch of possibility would render everything useless. If Shiki had acted completely outside of predictive behavior, out of whim like he normally does, it would have not been surprising if she lost. Sion states she didn't finish him off because he might have used a very strong counterattack

    ##Abilities Eight years before the start of Tsukihime, S.H.I.K.I inverted and attacked Shiki, stealing his Life Force to regenerate himself in the process. To keep Shiki alive, Akiha Tohno gave him half of her own Life Force. Because Shiki only has half the life energy of a normal person, he developed chronic Anemia. Despite his poor health, he boasts a well-built body. Unlike most of The Twenty-seven Dead Apostle Ancestors, along with Kouma Kishima, Aoko Aozaki, and Ciel who are powerful enough to fight a Servant with an extremely average Noble Phantasm, Shiki is no match for Servants, unfortunately. After gathering information about the events that happened in Tsukihime, Sion Eltnam Atlasia claimed that she was amazed by Shiki's survivability. She says that Shiki proceeding from one engagement of low victory probability to another can only be a miracle.

    ##Special Trait: Mystic Eyes of Death Perception Shiki's signature ability is the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, a type of Mystic Eyes that allow him to see the “death” of things. Originally, Shiki's eyes were meant to "see that which cannot be seen". However, after having two near-death experiences, with the extermination of the Nanaya clan and his death by S.H.I.K.I, he was somehow connected to the「Root」, and his brain began to be able to comprehend the concept of death itself. To put it in other words, it is only by virtue of his Mystic Eyes and brain working together as a set that he is able to perceive death in whatever he sees. Furthermore, Shiki's eyes turn blue when he intentionally tries to see death. Seeing as how blue is the color of Pure Eyes, it's likely that Shiki's eyes were originally of that type.

    Shiki's Mystic Eyes are a unique ability that allows the user to grasp the death of living beings as "points" and "lines." The lines are places where a substance breaks easily, and the points are death itself. If a line is cut, then even if the main body survives, that particular part will die, never to move again. Normally, Arcueid Brunestud can heal her entire body even if she was cut into 17 pieces, however, the wounds caused by Shiki's eyes stop her healing abilities, forcing her to remake her missing body parts from scratch at the cost of 80% of her power. If a point is pierced, then the individual will stop functioning completely. Though the eyes are said to see the form of death, strictly speaking, it's more accurate to say they're reading the lifespan of a substance – the existential limit determined at the moment of creation. The power to take a life is common in the World, however, Shiki's eyes are unique because they directly kill off the meaning/existence of the entity itself rather than their physical body. The extinguishing of life is only a side effect that derives from it. Shiki's eyes ignore the cause of death. Even against that which is immune to all external effects, he kills first. What is killed then becomes "dead". It's not that it stopped because he cut it. In his case, he stops the object, and as a result, it is cut. With his power, it is possible to kill the Soul without harming the body, preventing beings such as Michael Roa Valdamjong from reincarnating without killing their host. Sion Eltnam Atlasia states that not even Shiki can completely kill the Night of Wallachia since he is akin to a "phenomenon" that occurs after a set of circumstances are met. When Shiki sees TATARI's black sphere he is unable to see any "lines" on it, as it is just a conglomeration of "words". He cannot kill anything which is yet to exist. ORT, an extraterrestrial Ultimate One, is also immune to the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception since it doesn't have a "Concept of Death".

    The human mind was not meant to perceive death in such a way, and using it is highly taxing on the human brain, causing painful headaches. This is partially the cause of Shiki's frail condition and his frequent AnemiaWP. In addition, there are multiple levels of perception. While "lines" can be seen without consciously trying, seeing "points", the source of those lines, requires extreme concentration. Furthermore, lines cannot be perceived on things that can't be killed (destroyed) in the current World. Likely because as a human, Shiki's point of reference conforms to the limits of the humanity of his era. Different from Michael Roa Valdamjong's Mystic Eyes which could only see the life force of living beings, Shiki's eyes can see the death of inanimate objects as well. Be it animals, plants, walls, or the very air before him, Shiki can kill it. However, he can't read the "death" from an existence like Arcueid Brunestud. During daytime, some lines appear on her body, but at night, she is close to being a perfect life form that doesn't even carry a "Concept of Death".

    In Melty Blood, Sion Eltnam Atlasia states that Shiki should probably be able to kill concepts beyond human comprehension. Due to this, she regards Shiki as the only one who can kill the Immortal True Ancestors.

    The eyes' biggest weak point is that no matter how many "deaths" Shiki can see, he needs to trace the line with his own hands. Arcueid Brunestud initially claimed that despite being weakened after Shiki sliced her in 17 pieces, her athletic ability wasn't so low that she would be caught by him. Shiki notes that because he can't catch agile animals, he can't touch their bodies. In other words, even if he can see its lines, he can't kill anything that moves or is out of his reach.

    ##Combat Because of his Nanaya training as a child, Shiki possesses excellent physical ability, capable of feats comparable to at least an Olympic-level athlete. In terms of potential, Shiki even surpasses his father Kiri Nanaya, the most powerful assassin in the history of the Nanaya family. He is capable of two unique styles developed by the Nanaya: Flashing Scabbard (閃鞘, Sensa), the ability to attack extraordinarily quickly, with an example being his Seventeen Divisions move spawned from Flashing Scabbard: Monk Imprisoned by Doubts (迷獄沙門), and Flashing Dash (閃走, Sensō), the ability to essentially "teleport", or move so quickly that one loses sight of him in an instant. These types of attacks are also shown to be styles branched into other attacks from the clan such as Flashing Scabbard: Eight Point (八点衝) or Flashing Dash: Six Hares (六兎), which Shiki's Nanaya persona usually shows focus on. Shiki has only learned the basics of the Nanaya Arts as a child, due to his father abolishing the demon hunting practice. He possesses the Nanaya family's characteristic murderous impulse against non-humans, but this appears to be, in most cases, a controllable impulse that is mainly meant to enhance his Nanaya Arts. It is suggested that Shiki possesses great knowledge of the human anatomy.

    While Shiki was trained in the Nanaya's special martial arts, which strain the human body to its utmost limits, without any fear or hesitation, he normally doesn't use them due to having lost his memories. Even if he doesn't remember it, he has been trained for such things, and he instinctively uses them when faced with great danger. Despite not being good at feeling his opponent's presence, he is good at feeling his own death. This grants him a superior self-defense mechanism close to seeing the future, making surprise attacks to his blind spots useless as a means of assassination. For that reason, Shiki's fighting style consists on frantically guarding against "the absurd attacks of absurd opponents." As his defense is weak, he will often get knocked out just with pokes; however, if he is able to get in close, then it is said he shows his worth as the main character. Once he attacks, death is unavoidable.

    ##Weapon: Nanatsu Yoru Shiki's primary weapon is a small knife, a relic of the Nanaya family named Nanatsu-Yoru (七夜, Nanaya, Seven Nights). It is a switchblade with a plain hilt, with its blade and hilt of a length around 10cm. The blade can alternately be called the Nanaya, taking after Shiki's real surname. The meaning of the name is the same as well as the kanji. Even though it's called a "treasured blade" it isn't actually valuable, it's just a sturdily-built knife. Though, mysteriously it has a complex switchblade design despite its considerable age.

    ###Basic Information Neco-Arc Chaos (ネコアルク・カオス, Neko-Aruku・Kaosu) is a parody character, a Nrvnqsr Chaos-styled Neco-Arc, that came to be through a mutation. He is the extra member of the Neco Twenty-seven Cats, known as the "Forced to Work."

He wears a black turtleneck sweater, a long dark blue skirt, and long black socks. His color palette resembles Nrvnqsr Chaos', and he also has the same facial markings and monochromatic light grey skin. He describes himself as having a "swollen cookie-like face", typically keeping his eyes closed except for one portrait. He has sharp teeth, is often depicted smiling, and is sometimes shown smoking. Additionally, he has a gray tail that matches his hair, and his ears feature fluff in a lighter shade of gray.

    ##Personality Much like Neco-Arc, he is mostly nonsensical, spouting off non sequitur statements and breaking the fourth wall. When not manic, he acts suave and smokes. Kohaku fears him as a "Monster Cat", and he antagonizes others much like Neco-Arc. Often, he ponders about manhood and life. He gets emotional when a show ends, or a new one starts.

    ##Background Neco-Arc Chaos is a member of the Neco Spirit race, originating from the Great Cat's Village. He is even more enigmatic than Neco-Arc, and his connection to her is unknown. Like her, he may possibly be the "work of Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg" as suggested by Aoko Aozaki, a mutation, or even something of a Tatari, a "certain urban legend" telling of six Neco-Arcs and a shady being that even exceeds the Neco-Arcs themselves, Neco-Arc Chaos. He is the embodiment of chaos, calls himself a shut-in cat, and works part-time patrolling the cosmos.

    ##Abilities Neco-Arc Chaos is a being exceeding Neco-Arcs who spontaneously mutates. He fights similarly to Neco-Arc using pokes and brief kicks as melee attacks, but is unique in his ability to use Nrvnqsr Chaos' various familiars and even copies of Nrvnqsr while fighting. He can turn his arms and legs into beasts, emit them from his back, and use them in other ways similar to Nrvnqsr. He has a "Space Shot Mode" that turns his dress into a rocket booster. While problematic, it is capable of propelling through the atmosphere into space, and while he can survive in a vacuum, he cannot return on his own. He can also use it at short range to propel himself horizontally at the opponent with I want to go to Doggy Land (ワンワンランドに行きたい俺). He has a special move that allows him to attack at the speed of light to assault the opponent by travelling seven and a half laps around the world in a second, but his body will begin to disintegrate before then at around three laps.

    Many of his abilities are similar variations of those performed by Neco-Arc, including his Chaos Beam (混沌ビーム?) and Opuba 666! (おぷばっ666！) firing a black True Ancestor Beam from his eyes, one shot horizontally and the other shot diagonally into the air while yelling "Opuba!". His Cat Back From The Underworld P (Professor) (黄泉返りキャットP(プロフェッサー)) is similar in that he moves underground away from the opponent, but appears with two dummy Nrvnqsrs rather than two other Neco-Arcs and becomes unable to use them as a distraction.

    The ability Damien Armies (ダミアン・アーミー) allows him to spit fully formed deer, crows, and Nrvnqsrs, and copies of himself from his mouth to charge at the opponent. Each copy of himself is a unique individual that can all be called "him" even if he is the "Original." They are the Damien Force, an Elite Cat Corps, also called the "Dark Chaos Corps", who act in battle. Truly defeating him requires reducing their numbers to just one. Even if he is reduced to the last one on the Earth, he says "leave me with some jellyfish and I will multiply." When fought, Damien Armies is the same as Neco-Arc Chaos, but with four life bars that spawn a new ones as they are defeated. Unique personalities  include:

    • Neco-Arc Black (ネコアルク・ブラック?): The "#1 All-American Cat", he wishes to defeat Neco-Arc Chaos and become the supreme Chaos.

    • Neco-Arc Noir (ネコアルク・ノワール?): The "favored frontrunner for the Macademy Awards", he wishes to defeat Black and monopolize all cat food.

Some emojis are also simplified due to this, for example, the Seventh Holy Scripture is a pile-bunker weapon, but since no pile-bunker emojis exist, I had to represent it through a sword emoji to give the idea that "this is a weapon".

    Although many characters are represented as 🧛‍♂️, that doesn't nessecarially mean they are a Dead Apostle. The only Dead Apostle in the current Lorebook revision is Satsuki Yumizuka. Warachia is a Dead Apostle Ancestor. Arcueid Brunestud and Warcueid are True Ancestors + Brunestuds. Archetype: Earth is an Ultimate One (basically a deity), a True Ancestor, and a Brunestud all at the same time.

    If a character has a two or more races seperated by a "/", that means they are Mixed-Blood. The only examples of this in the Lorebook at the moment are Akiha Tohno, and Miyako Arima. The Tohno family and the Arima family (whilst being distantly related) are both families who have been breeding with demons to make them stronger at the cost of having a shorter life expectancy due to the Inversion Impulse. Shiki Tohno is exempt from this since he's not actually part of the Tohno family, but rather from the Nanaya clan. In a later revision of the Lorebook, these details will be explained in more thoroughly.

    The "..." in the Lorebook entries are not part of their names, nor the activation keys, they're just there to space out the English, Korean, and Japanese version of those names to make them easier to read.
