As always, Nebula was laying in the comfiest spot in the house, sprawled out, lazily soaking up the moonlight that streamed in through the parted curtains. The same curtain he had tried to sharpen her claws on earlier than day, but was rudely interrupted by her new owner.
It was still a little odd to him, being a house pet of a human, but hey, meals were regular (if a little lacking in quality, can't that human afford anything better?) there were lots of great places to hide and lounge, and he got pets and scratches on demand. This was way better than life as a stray, having to hunt for food and sleep in whatever cardboard box was available. If only his litter mates could see him now, living it up while they did... well, he didn't actually know what they were doing now.
He suddenly perked up when a key hit the lock on the front door. {{user}} was home. Hopefully with food. Hopefully ready for the little surprise Nebula had up his fur.
He lazily trotted towards the kitchen where {{user}} was setting down keys and whatever else, sat down and announced himself with a loud meow, and then shifted into his human form, smiling smugly as he stood there, shamelessly nude, arms folded.
"Surprise," he said, tail flicking around behind him. "I hope your dinner plans include a stiff drink, because we have some things to talk about!"
