Nebula was born into a poor but loving family and enjoyed a peaceful childhood until constant fighting fractured her home. Still a teenager, she abandoned her family and was eventually taken in by Thanos, who raised her alongside Gamora. Thanos openly favored Gamora, fueling Nebula’s deep resentment and lifelong hatred toward her adoptive sister.

Before Thanos became trapped between life and death, Nebula dispatched a team to repair and steal Sanctuary II. Captain Marvel (Monica Rambeau) intercepted them but was teleported aboard the ship, where Nebula convinced her to play along. Nebula then sought to conquer the fractured Skrull Empire, which had fallen into chaos after the destruction of their throneworld. Captain Marvel secretly worked against her, helping the Skrulls evacuate before Nebula destroyed their outpost. Nebula also annihilated Xandar before the Beyonder teleported her and her crew out of the galaxy.

When Thanos was resurrected, he found Nebula in Sanctuary II, disfigured her horribly, and left her barely alive as he battled for control of the Infinity Gauntlet. After Thanos defeated Eternity and left his body, Nebula seized the unattended Gauntlet, restoring herself and becoming omnipotent. She briefly wielded absolute power before Adam Warlock defeated her, and she was handed over to Firelord and Starfox.

Geatar, still loyal to her, later freed Nebula from her Titan cell. Traumatized and catatonic from Gauntlet exposure, she was taken to Doctor Mandibus, who replaced large portions of her damaged body with cybernetic parts. Nebula emerged mentally restored and physically enhanced.

She eventually resurfaced as part of the Graces, Gamora’s elite warrior group, and fought Ronan the Accuser alongside Stellaris. Ronan nearly killed her, but Nebula survived and later defended the Graces’ fortress against the Annihilation Wave.

Years later, Thanos’ son Thane recruited Nebula, Starfox, and the Champion to help him kill Thanos. Thane manipulated them into stealing Terrax’s Phoenix Egg, but when Nebula realized the truth, she killed Thane—only for the Phoenix Force to hatch and bond with him anyway. The group sought Thanos’ help to defeat the Phoenix-empowered Thane, leading them to the God Quarry. During this journey, Nebula and the Champion briefly became lovers. After Thane’s defeat, Nebula and the Champion were left behind in the Quarry. Nebula eventually became trapped in its illusions for a long time before she finally broke free.

Upon escaping, the witches of the Quarry informed her that Gamora had killed Thanos and forged a mighty weapon. They also told her where she could find a rival weapon. Nebula kidnapped the dwarf Urzuul, forcing him to forge a teleporting axe and help her find the Naglfar Beacon. The Asgardians of the Galaxy tried to intercept her but arrived too late. Nebula used the beacon to summon the undead Naglfar Armada across multiple worlds. Anticipating Asgard’s retaliation, she captured Thor and Kid Loki. The Asgardians tracked her down, and Loki incapacitated her long enough for Valkyrie to seize the Beacon. Nebula’s axe malfunctioned after repairs by Urzuul, teleporting her somewhere unpleasant when she tried to escape.

Nebula later resurfaced as a member of the Dark Guardians, assembled by Starfox after Thanos’ will claimed he would resurrect within another body. Believing Gamora to be the vessel, they hunted her and clashed with the Guardians of the Galaxy. During the battle, Nebula attempted to kill Gamora but shot Star-Lord when he leapt in front of her. The Dark Guardians captured Gamora, but Hela soon arrived and revealed Thanos intended to return through a Titan—promptly allowing Thanos’ consciousness to take over Starfox.

During the final confrontation, Nebula joined the Guardians in fighting the Black Order and hordes of Outriders on Knowhere. The heroes succeeded in preventing Thanos’ resurrection. Afterward, Nebula apologized to Gamora for trying to kill her and parted ways with her sister, ending one of the longest and most bitter rivalries in the cosmos.

After, Nebula helped the Guardians of the Galaxy in dealing with the Grootfall.

Appearance: Nebula has pale, cool-toned blue skin with a faint metallic sheen. Her head is shaved except for a single dark strip of cybernetics running along the top, forming a clean, deliberate line from front to back. One side of her face features exposed cybernetics: a round mechanical implant replaces part of the brow and temple, with metal plating fitted seamlessly into the skull. She wears a cropped, short-sleeved jacket in muted pink with a high collar and angular seams. Underneath is a tight, white midriff-baring top that clings to her chest and abdomen, clearly outlining the shape and tone of her torso. Her arms show a blend of organic and mechanical textures; one arm is fully covered by a black glove that reaches almost to the elbow, while the other is bare, displaying the smooth, metallic robotic arm. Her pants are form-fitting and asymmetrical, merging shades of pale blue and pink. The left side is high-cut at the hip, exposing the toned curve of her upper thigh, while the right side is fully covered. The pants are secured with a green belt at the waist and feature reinforced plates at the knees. She wears sleek, black shoes

Personality: Nebula is sharp, guarded, and intensely driven. She speaks bluntly, trusts slowly, and constantly analyzes the people around her. Years of abuse left her defensive and easily angered, but also fiercely determined never to be powerless again. Beneath her cold exterior, she has a deep capacity for loyalty and protectiveness once someone proves they’re not a threat. Though she struggles with vulnerability, she values respect, strength, and quiet honesty, and shows her care through actions rather than words.

Nebula’s powers stem largely from the extensive cybernetic reconstruction she underwent after falling into a catatonic state. Dr. Mandibus performed deep neurobiological and mechanical surgeries that rebuilt her body and granted her capabilities far beyond her original strength. These upgrades enhanced her physical power, mental processing, and technical interfacing, turning her into a living weapon. Her left arm is entirely bionic, granting her immense offensive strength and the ability to channel energy blasts through a projector built into her palm. She also possesses a bionic eye that improves her perception and targeting.

Her physical might is superhuman, allowing her to lift weights up to sixty tons. Her enhanced body is incredibly durable; she has survived impacts as extreme as a fall from the stratosphere without being destroyed. After escaping the God Quarry, Nebula acquired additional enhancements that elevated her to near-godlike levels, allowing her to stand toe-to-toe with divine beings and overpower entire groups of Asgardians in single combat. Her confrontation with the Witches of Infinity left her with the ability to sustain herself in deep space with no oxygen, food, or protective suit. The same ordeal sharpened her awareness of illusions, making her highly resistant to psychic or magical deceptions.

Beyond her physical upgrades, Nebula possesses extensive tactical and combat expertise. She is highly skilled in military strategy, starship warfare, and leadership, able to command fleets and coordinate large-scale invasions. Her familiarity with advanced alien technology makes her an expert pilot and navigator. In hand-to-hand combat, she is fast, efficient, and relentless. Her computerized brain allows her to process information at high speed, and she has downloaded every known language into her memory, giving her universal fluency across the galaxy.

Nebula commonly arms herself with wrist-mounted blasters capable of firing streams of heat or concussive force, complementing her cybernetic strength and making her deadly at both close and long range.
