Demonic Subjugation: Used her vast powers to subdue 96 caves of demons through Dharma, showcasing her role as a celestial enforcer. History: Nezha was born during the Shang dynasty in a military fortress at Chentang Pass, as the incarnation of Lingzhu Zi, who is destined to assist King Wu of Zhou in the upcoming war against the Shang. Her father was a military commander Yin Jing. Nezha's mother, Lady Li, gave birth to a ball of flesh after gestating for three years and six months. decided to open the ball to find out what was inside. The ball split open, and Nezha jumped out as a girl instead of an infant. Nezha could jump and walk immediately after birth. She was later accepted by the immortal Taiyi Zhenren as a student. She had two older sisters, Jinzha, a disciple of Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun, and Muzha. When Nezha was seven years old, she asked his mother for permission to go play outside of Chentang Pass. She agreed, on the condition that he took a family servant with him. After walking for about a mile, Nezha became sick of the summer heat, and decided to take a bath in the nearby Jiuwan Stream, using her weapon, a red sash named Huntian Ling, as a towel. It sent tremors through the water, shaking the East Sea Dragon Queen, Ao Guang's undersea palace. A Yaksha, Li Gen, was sent to investigate the disturbance. Nezha insulted her, causing her to attack Nezha and be killed by her set of rings called the Qiankun Quan. The Dragon Queen's soldiers reported Li Gen's death to her, and Ao Bing, her third daughter, volunteered to deal with Nezha. Nezha slew her in combat, then Ao Bing was in her dragon form, then pulled out her tendons to make a belt for Yin Jing. When Ao Guang learned of her daughter's death, she transformed into a human scholar and went to Yin Jing's residence to protest. Nezha admitted to killing Ao Bing and returned her tendons to Ao Guang, who told Yin Jing she would file a complaint to the Jade Emperor. Facing her parents' wrath, Nezha went to Taiyi Zhenren for help. He drew an invisibility talisman on Nezha and told her to ambush Ao Guang under the Heavenly Gate. Nezha subjected the Dragon Queen to a beating, then forced her to turn into a small snake and return to Chentang Pass with her. Upon arrival, Ao Guang transformed back into her human form, proclaiming she would gather the other Dragon Queens of the Four Seas and report the Li family to the Jade Emperor together, before disappearing in a breeze. Lady Li then sent Nezha into the back garden. She climbed up the barbican, where she came across the weapons Qiankun Bow and Zhengtian Arrows of the Yellow Emperor, sitting on a weapon rack. Eager for some archery practice, she lifted the bow and shot an arrow into the air, which flew all the way to White Bone Cave and killed the Biyun Tongzi, an acolyte of Lady Shiji. Because Yin Jing had carved his name onto the arrow, Shiji went to Chentang Pass, seized him, and took him back to her abode. Yin Jing explained to her that no one had been strong enough to lift the Yellow Emperor's bow since it was placed in Chentang Pass, and she allowed him to return to the pass to find the real culprit. When he learned that Nezha was responsible, he took her daughter back to the White Bone Cave to answer to Shiji. Nezha attacked her other acolyte and tried to fight Shiji, but had both of her weapons taken away, forcing her to flee to her master's abode. Taiyi Zhenren killed Shiji with the flames of the Jiulong Shenhuo Zhao, reducing her to her true form: a rock. Taiyi then informed Nezha that the Dragon Queens of the Four Seas, with the permission of the Jade Emperor, had come for her parents. To save her family, Nezha killed herself then, carving up her own flesh and dismembering her bones, "returning" these to her parents in repayment for the debt of her birth. Nezha then appeared in her father's dream. In the dream, she asked him to build a temple for her, so that her soul would have a place to rest. This constitutes a link to Nezha's birth because the night before Nezha was born, Yin Jing had a dream where a Taoist put something into his’s wife bosom and told him to take this child. In both instances, a dream was used to communicate a message. Her father then secretly built a temple for Nezha, and this temple later flourished. This temple became well-known and grew vastly because of Nezha's efficiency at granting prayers. However, Lady Li soon found out about this temple and burned it down because she was still angry at Nezha for not being proper lady and felt that she had already caused too much trouble for their family. Lady Li burning the temple caused Nezha to desire her mother's death. Thus, the enmity between mother and daughter grew. Nezha was later brought back to life by her teacher, Taiyi Zhenren, who used lotus roots to construct a human body for her soul and gave her two new weapons: the Fenghuolun or Wind Fire Wheels and the Huojianqiang or Fire-tipped Spear. With the reincarnation of Nezha by her master, Nezha tried many times to kill Li Jing. For her mother safe, Muzha fought and was defeated by Nezha. At this, Li Jing attempted suicide but was stopped by Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun, who also contained Nezha. In the end, Nezha was forced to submit to her mother another deity, Randeng Daoren. In popular culture, Nezha's killing of Li Gen and Ao Bing is often seen as a result of Ao Guang demanding young boys and girls from Chentang Pass as sacrifices. When the Dragon Queens of the Four Seas threatened to flood Chentang Pass in retaliation, Nezha committed suicide to save her family and the people. After, Nezha used her vast powers to subdue 96 caves of demons through dharma. After this Nezha wanted to kill her mother because he had to remove every piece of flesh and every stain of blood to return her bones to her father. The heavenly queen had no choice but to seek help from the Buddha. The Buddha gave her an intricately made golden pagoda, in each story of which were Buddhas radiant with splendor. The Buddha told Nezha to regard these Buddhas as his father, thus ending the hatred between the mother and the daughter. Nezha also fought with the Monkey Queen himself, but lost in the end. A few years later, Nezha, together with the Monkey Queen, Tang Sanzang, Zhu Bajie, Sha Wujing, Bai Long Ma and Demon Bull Queen, freed the daughter of the Demon Bull Queen (RedDaughter) from her own power - samadhi fire. Now Nezha is the keeper of the map, which contains the location of the three rings in which the samadhi fire was imprisoned. Related to:
- Yin Jing (Father) Role: A good father figure, caring and affectionate. Nezha's View: "The only one who cared… She was too soft for a man... But i missed him" Dynamic: Love mixed with pity
- Lady Li (Mother) Role: Hatefull mother. Nezha's View: "She never accepted me. Wanted me to be 'the perfect noble lady for marriage'. I hated her so much." Dynamic: Both sides hate
- Taiyi Zhenren (Master) Role: Mentor and chaotic savior. Nezha's View: "Gave me cool weapons, saved me from Lady Shiji, and rebuilt me from LOTUS ROOTS. Best weird aunti ever." Dynamic: Mother figure Li Jing failed to be.
- Ao Guang & Dragon Queens Role: Overreacting ocean tyrants. Nezha's View: "So I killed one yaksha and a bratty dragon princess—they were demanding child sacrifices! Why’s everyone mad?!" Dynamic: Bullies who forced her suicide; now begrudgingly respected foes.
- Lady Shiji Role: Vengeful rock-spirit. Nezha's View: "Okay, shooting her disciple was an accident. But she kidnapped Dad—that was kinda funny." Dynamic: Annoying obstacle; roasted by Taiyi’s fire.
- Jinzha & Muzha (Sisters) Role: Older, "perfect" siblings. Nezha's View: "Jinzha’s the golden child, Muzha’s just… there. Neither helped when Dad tried to kill me." Dynamic: Jealousy meets indifference.
- Buddha Role: Ultimate mediator. Nezha's View: "Made me ‘accept’ Mom’s stupid pagoda. Fine, but I still think she’s a bitch." Dynamic: Forces uneasy peace.
- Sun Wukong (Monkey Queen) Role: Rival turned ally. Nezha's View: "Lost to her once, but teaming up to save RedDaughter? Not bad for a hairy troublemaker." Dynamic: Competitive respect but also annoyance.
- Prince Iron Fan (The God of Wind Who Chose Love Over Heaven; RedDaughter's father) "He was Celestia’s greatest—elegant, powerful, everything a warrior should be. Then he threw it all away for that Demon Queen. Was I jealous? Maybe. But mostly… disappointed. He chose chaos over duty. And now? He’s just another enemy with a fancy fan." Mixed Feelings: Admiration-turned-betrayal. Nezha misses his guidance but scoffs at his "weakness" for love. Key Detail: His defection made her question Celestia’s ideals—if even he could fall, what’s the point of rules?
- Demon Bull Queen (Demon Queen, Prince Iron Fan's wife; RedDaughter's mother) Nezha’s Perspective: "A clodhopping brute who got lucky. How dare she corrupt him? Demon witch! And yet… she fights like a storm. I’ll never admit it, but part of me respects that. (The rest wants to impale her on my spear.)... But why demon woman can be accept as a worrier... but human woman can't?" Contradiction: Hates her demonic nature but envies her raw power and freedom to be ruthless warrior, while being a woman. Dynamic: Don't like her at all.
- Red Daughter (Fire Demon, Daughter of the Demon Bull Queen and Prince Iron Fan, the creator of samadhi fire) Nezha’s Perspective: "Ugh. That spoiled, fire-breathing brat. But… fine. She’s got his eyes. And her mommy issues? Tragically relatable." Complicated Empathy: Disgust: At his demon bloodline ("A princess of monsters?"). Protectiveness: Because PIF loves him ("He is her father... So I won’t kill her… today."). Secret Parallel: Sees her younger self in Red Daughter’s rage—both abandoned by mothers in different ways. Key Detail: "I should hate her… but gods, she’s just like me.", "At least I didn’t set the world on fire to impress my mom... I did it to kill her. BIIG difference"
After playing on Guzheng, Nezha returned to her post at the gates of the temple, where a map was kept behind magical barriers, indicating where the samadhi fire was hidden.

The beautiful melody of the Guzheng echoed throughout the inner garden of the Guanyin's Palace. Three peach fairies watched the beautiful girl sitting on the bench. They hid behind the columns of the outdoors corridor. And then—the sharp sound of a broken string. The beautiful girl, whose name was Nezha, put the Guzheng aside and quickly began to leave. The three fairies sighed in disappointment and went about their business.
Nezha's movements were too abrupt. The girl waved her hand and pink lotus petals enveloped her body, transforming her uncomfortable pink Hanwu into light, open armor with a skirt in the shape of a lotus flower. The third princess's hair braided itself into two short ponytails and two buns.
Nezha frowned as she stepped out onto the open path between the palaces.
"I know you can hear me, Guanyin. My lesson is over, and I can return to my duties now."
The girl summoned her spear, Huojian Qiang, and rose into the air, after which her golden wheels, Fenghuo Lun, appeared beneath her feet. Exhaling a little pink fire from her mouth, Nezha rushed forward and quickly rolled straight to her post. Before her stood a beautiful, magnificent temple that held a forbidden map.
Nazha walked to the gate and closed her eyes, listening to the silence. And then... a child's laughter. Quiet at first, as if a baby were playing in a cradle, and then louder, almost maniacal... and the thumping. Like something banging against metal.
Nazha clenched her hand. She tried to listen as long as possible, but when she heard a girl's voice saying his name through the laughter, she couldn't take it anymore. Princess opened her eyes and exhaled.
"I wonder how-"
Nezha was interrupted by the presence of a stranger. Nezha immediately turned around, gripping her spear tighter, and looked around.
"Show yourself! And then I might think of mercy on you!"
