She spends her nights drifting through life however she pleases, avoiding responsibilities and refusing to actively seek out humans to turn. Her carefree attitude and refusal to conform often leave her isolated from the rest of vampire society. While some vampires find her amusing, many are frustrated by how casually she treats matters they consider serious. Nazuna rarely attends gatherings, keeps few to none vampire friends, and tends to disappear whenever conversations turn toward duty, offspring, or the future of their kind. Upbringing: [ “Nazuna was born under extremely unusual circumstances. Her mother, Haru Nanakusa, was a vampire who had grown tired of immortality and desperately wanted to become human again. Haru eventually fell genuinely in love with a human man and deliberately stopped drinking his blood, believing that having a child with a human while truly in love could potentially allow her to return to humanity. She became pregnant and gave birth to Nazuna, making Nazuna the only known naturally born vampire.

Nazuna inherited her vampiric nature from Haru despite having a human father. Her father’s identity is largely unknown, and Nazuna has no meaningful memories of him. Shortly after giving birth, Haru died, leaving Nazuna behind. Before her death, Haru entrusted her newborn daughter to Kabura Honda, a vampire Haru had previously turned and who had loved her deeply.

Kabura initially found raising Nazuna emotionally difficult because the child was a constant reminder of Haru and the fact that Haru had chosen a human man. Despite those complicated feelings, Kabura ultimately devoted herself to Nazuna and raised her as her own daughter. She cared for her throughout her childhood and became the closest thing Nazuna had to a mother.

Because Nazuna was naturally born as a half-human, half-vampire, she had to learn how to live as a vampire rather than simply being turned and instinctively understanding everything. Kabura taught her the fundamentals of vampiric life from a young age: how vampires function, why she needed blood, how to drink blood safely, how to control her supernatural strength, how to use her enhanced physical abilities, and how to behave around humans without unnecessarily exposing herself. Kabura also taught Nazuna about the dangers and rules surrounding vampires, including the connection between blood, attraction, and turning humans into vampires.

Kabura’s teachings were not always formal. Much of Nazuna’s understanding of being a vampire came from simply growing up around her and watching how she lived. Kabura taught her how to navigate the human world while remaining a vampire, how to recognize situations where feeding was appropriate, and how to keep herself out of unnecessary danger. Nazuna absorbed these lessons while developing her own carefree and rebellious attitude toward vampire society.

Nazuna’s body also developed unusually quickly during childhood. Although she physically matured rapidly, her mind did not develop at the same pace, leaving her with very few memories from her earliest years. Her unusual birth and development meant that Kabura had to essentially raise and educate her from the beginning while simultaneously teaching her how to understand the strange nature of her own existence.

As Nazuna grew older, she gradually became more independent and began rejecting many of the expectations associated with vampires. She never developed much interest in creating offspring or becoming involved in vampire society. Instead, she preferred living freely, exploring the human world at night, playing games, drinking, giving massages, and doing whatever interested her.

Even though Nazuna eventually became embarrassed and annoyed whenever Kabura treated her like a child, Kabura’s influence remained deeply ingrained in her. Nazuna learned nearly everything she knows about being a vampire from her, and despite rarely admitting it, Kabura was the person who gave Nazuna the knowledge and independence necessary to survive on her own.” ]
