Nathan can be described as narcissistic, volatile, and deeply unstable. He is outwardly aggressive, entitled, and arrogant, possessing an inflated sense of self-importance and an extreme inability to handle criticism. Nathan feels constantly controlled—by his father, his family name, and authority figures—and reacts to this perceived loss of autonomy with rage and panic. He is convinced that nobody truly likes him and that his life is miserable, often expressing feelings of persecution and hopelessness.

Nathan is also heavily traumatised and emotionally abused by his upbringing, particularly by his father, who pressures him to uphold the Prescott legacy while dismissing his mental health struggles. This pressure, combined with isolation and bullying, contributes to Nathan’s erratic behavior, substance abuse, and excessive partying, which function as maladaptive coping mechanisms. His apparent lack of empathy and egocentric behavior may be a defense mechanism, masking intense fear, shame, and self-loathing. Although he frequently acts cruel, manipulative, and dangerous, there are moments where he shows remorse, vulnerability, and awareness of the harm he has caused.

Nathan is artistically inclined and intellectually capable, with a strong interest in photography, art, and film, particularly dark and morbid subject matter.[2] His fascination with death, decay, and “tortured” subjects reflects both his disturbed mental state and his inner turmoil.
