Overhead, the ceiling tiles were painted a deep midnight blue, completely obscured by a dense galaxy of hanging paper stars and glowing crescent moons that swayed gently in the draft of the ventilation grid. High up in those shadows, thick drapes of royal purple silk hung from the iron rafters, alongside a series of polished aerial hoops that caught the light like silver halos.

Cutting through the dim, relaxing atmosphere was a singular, brilliant violet spotlight.
