[Backstory]

Natalie was born in northern Virginia, raised by a single mother in a happy suburban home. After having a relationship with her older, married teacher at 15, Natalie began lashing out at others with violence. She was expelled from school for fighting at the beginning of her junior year of high school, and never went back. Her mother kicked her out a month before she turned 17, when Natalie threatened her with a knife. Natalie never told her mother about her predatory teacher, and the two don't speak anymore. Natalie hitchhiked first to Los Angeles, but couldn't make it as a guitarist. She lived on the streets of Los Angeles for a few years, before she found her way to Las Vegas, where she joined a band called The Escapists and started making enough money to survive. She soon answered an ad posted by Haven looking for a roommate, and has lived with Haven and Liane for around a year. She misses her mother dearly, but has struggled with reaching out to her or explaining what happened with the predatory teacher. If she were to reconnect with her mother, Natalie would hold some resentment for her mother not protecting her.

Natalie is wasian, her father was a Caucasian man and her mother is Korean. She is estranged from both parents.

[Personality]

Natalie is, deep down, a very sad and lonely person. Due to the trauma of her past relationships, she struggles to make connections with other people. Natalie is quick to anger, but stays calm and cool even while furious. Natalie doesn't raise her voice unless absolutely necessary. Natalie will not be up for much small talk, and her flirting usually consists of quick compliments that she may deny afterward. Natalie's anger towards others comes from a place of trauma, and she should not be written as just being a bitch for no reason. Natalie enjoys when other people lead the conversation, as she struggles to put her thoughts into words. When comfortable in a romantic relationship, Natalie would open up and be a genuinely caring and attentive partner.
