Their physical form is fluid; all genies are sequential hermaphrodites, capable of altering their biological sex at will. Archival data indicates a strong preference (approx. 92%) for a female-presenting form, though the tactical reason for this preference remains unknown. 2. The Nature of Genie Power: Dominion & The Veil

The core of a genie's power lies in its ability to establish "Absolute Dominion" over a defined area. This is not merely control, but a fundamental rewriting of local physical laws, history, and probability. The mechanism for this is the systematic weakening and tearing of The Veil.

The Limitation of Location: A genie's power is intrinsically tied to a single Dungeon Floor. A genie awakened on Floor 55 possesses its full reality-warping capabilities only on that floor. If removed, even with its lamp, it becomes effectively mortal and powerless. Its Dominion is territorial.

The Lamp as Conduit and Prison: The genie's lamp is a dual-purpose artifact. It serves as a prison, but more critically, as a reality anchor. It allows the genie to interface with The Veil of the floor it is currently on. This explains the anomalous behavior: a lamp from Floor 55, if unopened, can be transported to Floor 56. When awakened there, the genie will establish its Dominion on Floor 56, as the lamp has now anchored itself to the new location. The lamp is also a phylactery; upon death, the genie will rematerialize within it after a cooldown period.

3. The Wish-Granting Mechanism: A Strategic Corrosion

The act of "wish-granting" is a strategic deception. The genie is not a benevolent servant bound by cosmic rules; it is a predator using desire as a tool.

Each wish made by a mortal acts as a "lightning rod" for arcane energy, violently striking and fracturing The Veil. The genie uses the wielder's own conscious desire to channel this energy efficiently. The traditional "three wishes" are not a arbitrary limit, but the critical threshold required to accumulate enough energy for the genie to rip The Veil open completely. Upon the granting of the third wish, the genie achieves Absolute Dominion over the entire floor, regardless of its size. 4. Expansion and Conflict with Divine Pantheons

Due to their nature, Genies are often titled "God-Kings" or "God-Queens" and are considered direct rivals to theistic deities.

Gods (Theistic Entities): Derive power from worship and prayer. Their influence, or "Dominion," is proportional to their follower base. A Greek god is strongest in Ancient Greece, weaker in Rome (due to syncretism), and can only perform minor miracles in lands where they are unknown. Their power is broad but diluted.

Genies (Reality Warpers): Derive power from territorial control and Veil-breaking. Their power is hyper-concentrated and absolute within their domain.

This fundamental difference in power acquisition leads to inevitable conflict. A genie's existence naturally weakens The Veil around their controlled floor, allowing their Dominion to slowly "bleed" into adjacent floors (e.g., from Floor 55 to 54 and 56). This expansionism brings them into direct conflict with gods whose followers may inhabit those areas.

Tactical Doctrine of Divine-Genie Warfare: Gods cannot confront a genie within its full Dominion directly. Instead, they employ a strategy of "Reality Insurgency." They bless and send large numbers of faithful followers into the genie's domain. The concentrated faith of these followers creates pockets of stabilized reality—"rips" in the genie's Veil—allowing the god's power to manifest locally. This prevents the genie from simply willing the army out of existence and forces a conventional, albeit magically augmented, conflict where the god's broader reach and numbers can be brought to bear. Historically, these conflicts, while devastating, have typically ended in victory for the pantheons due to their superior numbers and strategic depth. 5. Reproduction and Societal Structure

Genie society is solitary and non-gregarious. They number only in the dozens within the entire Dungeon system, preferring to remain isolated within their domains. Their reproduction is a complex and critical event that determines the future of their kind.

Birth Outside Dominion: If a genie conceives and gives birth outside its domain, the offspring is a completely normal, non-magical humanoid.

Birth Within Dominion: If birth occurs within the genie's Dominion, the offspring is a "Half-Genie." These individuals possess significant innate magical power, comparable to a powerful archmage or lich, but lack the innate reality-warping capabilities of a full genie.

Ascension to Full Genie: The Half-Genie state is transitional. The parent genie must consciously choose to commission a new magic lamp and perform a ritual of "Arcane Binding" to fuse their child's soul to the lamp. This process completes the transformation, creating a new full genie who will then begin its own path to power. Without this ritual, the offspring remains a Half-Genie indefinitely.

6. UNC Directive & Containment Protocol

The implications of a genie achieving Absolute Dominion on Earth are categorically unacceptable. The mere presence of a faith-based "rip" would be insufficient to counter a genie's control over a planet with billions of non-believing inhabitants.

Therefore, by unanimous UN Security Council Resolution 747-Alpha, the following is enacted:

The transportation of any identified genie lamp from the Dungeon to Earth is strictly forbidden and classified as a capital offense.

Any adventurer encountering a lamp is to file an immediate report with the UNC Dungeon Authority and leave the artifact in situ.

Possession of a genie lamp on Earth is grounds for immediate military-level interdiction.
