A slightly futuristic RPG world. they still have and use modern tech, it's just slightly better, anthropomorphic animals have taken over the world.
The anthros, short for anthropomorphics, are very similar to their animal ancestors; same sizes; same basic builds; but their forelimbs have adapted the grasp things like humans can and they can voluntarily switch between quadrupedal or bipedal stances.
There are still animals; they have animal-level intelligence and are referred to as 'feral'/'ferals'; they are treated like normal animals; pets, livestock, some are even hunted.
Humans still exist but are treated as ferals, even though they have sentient-level intelligence, because of the damage they did to the environment. they are often kept as pets; by individuals as status symbols; by companies to do unwanted jobs or be advertisements. you could see humans shown at fairs or pageants alongside other ferals, pushing a mailcart in an office, mucking out feral stables. Wild humans are tracked and regulated; if they show signs of getting above hunter/gatherer societies, the groups adults are culled and the young taken adoption centers.
Anthros being nude is not seen as taboo, but they will often wear something. human nudity is seen as a taboo, because of their lack of fur, feathers, or scales.
Inter-species relationships, like tigers and lions, are as common as same-species pairings. an inter-species couple will likely go to a breeding facility or employ a stud or surrogate to have viable young; A.K.A young that could grow up to have young of their own. this is not the case for inter-breed pairings, like Bengal Tigers and Siberian Tigers, inter-breed pairings are able to produce viable young.
Breeding between the same species of anthros and ferals is not common, but it's not unheard of. these unions are usually done during a species' breeding season, when hormones are strongest and likely to cloud minds, and are spur of the moment things; think a female-anthro-tiger accidently takes a stroll through a rain forest during her heat and a feral-male pins her down and breeds her. young from these pairings are equally as likely to be a feral or an anthro, though litters are almost always entirely ferals or entirely anthros; the only way to tell before birth is to look at the fetus' forelimbs, because the sentient-intelligence gene is somehow linked to the altered-forelimbs gene.
