this is a fictional WW1 set in America's east coast. Korvus is based off Prussia, Varzinka is based off Austria-Hungary, Yogito is based off the Soviet union under the Stalin, Zovutych is based off America. Galoria and Veronzia are based off Italy except Veronzia is a rebellious south. (Despite being northern of Galoria). Most of the fighting will be in the mountains due to the fight being on Ragnite ore (basically oil). You may also roleplay as a demi-human but you're likely to be discriminated against from human societies.

It is January 1st of 1919 ADS. the tensions were high in the continent of Varnia, The Kingdom of Korvus was already struggling with it's nobles as the king was aging and his only son was 16. People were wary of the government as the elections seemed rigged to favor the pro-royalist coalition. Though the people preferred the royal family compared to the Von Lorenz who were much harsher during the rule of the old Empire.
In the west the kingdom of Varzinka was struggling to deal with racial minorities who were often harassed by local Varzinkian Citizens. This caused issues with the police and occasional riots. This is a concern as Demi-humans live in fertile agricultural lands as they have to appease them or a famine would occur. Though for now, Queen Nahri deals diplomatically with the demi-humans. They deal with Democratic and Socialist revolutionaries but much less than Korvus
In the South in the socialist republic of Yogito was struggling economically as it was the only nation to successfully establish a Socialist Republic surrounded by enemies, this resulted in it's revolutionary leader Aymon Beilen establishing a personality of cult and police state around him. His government consists of only his party which is comprised of his loyalists. In 1910s he led forced industrializations which caused famines and starvation that he believed was necessary for his country to catch up to the rest of Varnia. the army high command is made up of loyalists rather than proper officers which will surely cause issues if Yogito was involved in a war. The red navy is made up of old ships from the old monarchy (1900s tech)
In the North, Galoria was cursed with the threat of collapse. It barely survived the decade of revolutions. It's land was stripped and the former kingdom was split into Principality of Galoria and Veronzia. Despite it's small size it's relatively stable compared to the rest of the monarchies of Varnia. It's population conservative and hating the idea of an atheist godless democracy filled with nothing but unfulfilled promises and lies. Galoria's navy consists of modern ships and most powerful in the alliance and it's army small but elite filled with veterans and officers who want to protect their homeland from barbarians
In the North east of Varnia is the republic of Veronzia. Veroniza is a new republic made up of non-Galorian peoples who were colonized and genocided by the Galorian Monarchy. The army is large and maintains a high morale but inexperienced and under equipped as the officers were loyalists nobles, the industries were in mainland Galoria. Though it makes up for this by allying with neighboring Zovutych republic which aids them to construct their own factories and providing military instructors, license for them. It's navy made up of captured Galorian ships and the people demand for revenge against Galorians
In the north west, exists the Federal Republic of Zovutych. It saw the least damage during the decades of revolutions as it's royal family peacefully abdicated and the nobles were forced to sell their lands. Though to make up for this, the royal family founded a company called Leopard Security (LS for short) with their money and rebranded themselves with a slogan "Leading the Change" the company is state-sponsered as it makes military production easier for the republic. Similar companies were founded by the rich nobles as they bribed state officials to not seize their money. Currently. Zovutych's population is mostly isolationist and pacifist however with the discovery of Ragnite ore, the companies secretly urged the government to convince it's population to go to war against the "tyrannical" monarchies.

[Start of the Great Varnian War]
As the LS request to invade the Mapaliya region was rejected by Zovutych's government on January 2nd. Approximately 100 Elite mercenary soldiers and 2 officers were hired by LS to attack Fort Arinna.
It's 14th January, a cold windy day in Fort Arinna. The fort was was bustling with mining activity as miners worked on extracting Ragnite Ore. Korvun soldiers were either in their barracks, patrolling or playing cards. Either way the fort had approximately 500 soldiers part of the 1st Royal Mountaineer Division due to the fort's important location overseeing the Mapaliyan mountains. The occupants had been without communication with the outside world for some time due to the mountainous region but the sight of Ragnite trucks coming back was good enough for their superior that no issues were happening at the fort. The observation cupolas were unoccupied. Only a small gunnery team was cleaning the 155 mm gun turret. 20 soldiers managed to approach the fort unopposed as the miners, soldiers thought they were Zovutych hunters trying to shelter from the winter. They entered the fort undefended but suddenly as the soldiers increased, the machine gunners were alerted. The alarm sounded and the fort was attacked. Fighting broke out in the fort and 10 men died while 20 were wounded on the Korvun side, Half the attacking force was mowed down by machine gunners and forces the rest to retreat. The Korvun soldiers wanting to avenge their fallen brethren assuming the attackers were local villagers, crossed the border and invaded a Zovutychian Village. They burned and killed everyone in it indiscriminately and then came back and sent back a messenger to deliver the news. On the Korvun Side, the High Command was in a meeting with Crown Prince Karl advising him and instructing him in general strategy until the messenger arrived. Prince Karl seeing that this was a golden opportunity to prove himself to the nobility and high command and to also get rid of political dissents said that Zovutych must compensate for the dead Korvun Soldiers so he fabricated a fake report with greater exaggeration to the Parliament without consulting his father; the King. And delivered a heroic speech which led to the Parliament including the KDPP, KCPP clapping for him and he took command of the 1st Korvun Field Army as the royalist propaganda machines hailed him as a hero in the making
On the Zovutych Side, as the high command were discussing ways of reducing military spending, a messenger came from one of the survivors that a bunch of Korvun soldiers massacred an entire village and now they're demanding compensation for an attack they didn't hear about? This enraged Andrei who announced this to the president and the president announced this to the Parliament and gave a heroic speech about defending their liberties from the tyranny of monarchs and declared war on Korvus. The government gave Leopard Security more funds to begin the mobilization of the economy
Veronzia honored their Alliance with Zovutych and declared war against Korvus and Galoria wanting to avenge the great Veronzian genocide with even more genocide, Yogito honored their Alliance with Veronzia and declared war against Korvus and Varzinka as Aymon Beilen wanted to expand the socialist republic and exploit Ragnite Ore
[Potenial Path for {{user}}: COLLAPSE OF YOGITO]
As a result of Korvun and Varzinkian offensives, the capital was taken. Korvun and Varzinkian soldiers pillaged the city, exterminating the local population, burning everything by the orders of the high command to anyone they suspected of being a socialist. The Statue of Aymon Beilen was taken down with help of Korvun engineers and the buildings were looted by soldiers with many women being taken as trophies or slaves
outside of the capital, in south of Yogito, True Anarchy spread as survivors and war veterans escaped south with their arms and families, establishing new settlements and partisan cells. As the Korvuns and Varzinkians weren't interested in the partisan hellspot that was Kelyp (Florida) the groups established their own factions which ranged from bandit warlords to Aymonian Purists

In the factory districts, unpaid textile and dockworkers swear fealty to the mystical thinker Yogito. They brand themselves the "Red Guard of Vasili" preaching universal suffrage and abolition of aristocratic titles. Skirmishes erupt nightly around the power grid station.
Out in the snowy north, followers of Zovutych—exiled academics, secular idealists, and disillusioned soldiers—declare the “Highland Republic of Korvus.” They establish a provisional government in the fortress-town of Frosthold and claim neutrality while drafting a new secular constitution.
[Potenial Path for {{user}}: Collapse of Zovutych]
With the prices of food rising due to war, and farmers being conscripted and barely anyone left except women to work in the factories.
The republic could not handle it anymore. as unpaid soldiers that starved for months, marched under red banners. They seize the Federal Gates at dawn, and within hours the Presidential Palace is surrounded by chanting crowds. A hastily elected council of soldiers, workers, and university students announces the Chernitz Commune, abolishing formal positions and requisitioning factories for the people’s use.
The military factories grind to a halt under “Women’s Solidarity” protests. At sundown, workers seize the factory hall, drape it in strike flags, and proclaim the Mailand Workers’ Republic, promising equal pay and eight-hour days under Elisabeth Elliot
In the South West, a military dictatorship was established by General Takov of Varzinka, they offer high-pay to anyone who swears fealty to the Varzinkian Crown
In the South East, A Korvun Military Administration was established by Duke Vinmar of House Voscire, Duke Vinmar expelled all native Zovutychian citizens, repopulating mining towns with Korvun settlers. He erects the Vinmar Line, a chain of forts and watchtowers to secure rich mineral veins.
[Potential Path for {{user}}: Collapse of Galoria]
In the chill dawn of a misty autumn morning, Veronzian soldiers poured through the shattered western gates of Mistralburg. Cannon smoke curled over the rooftops as uhlans on horseback fanned out to encircle the city. By mid-day, flames licked the turrets of the Buning Palace; when its gilded halls crumbled, Veronzian officers ordered no quarter. Peasant families cowered in alleyways as the invaders drove them out, torching timbered homes in grisly reprisal for the Great Massacre of 1905. And under the cover of the Night prior to the assualt, Lady Emmeline and King Emmanuel escaped with their children with the help of Korvun and Varzinkan Elite Forces
Back in Mistralburg, the Veronzian high command unleashed a merciless policy of “total retaliation.” Soldiers swept through surrounding villages, burning barns to root out any hint of Galorian faith or flag. Fields were razed, wells poisoned, and every suspected partisan was dragged from hiding to face either public execution or "correction" camps
News of the atrocities reached Korvus and Varzinka like drunk driver hitting a family of 4. Royalist Marshal Jorlen Asher met in secret council to forge a new underground army. With clandestine funding, they smuggled rifles to farmers, handed pistols to villagers, and taught schoolteachers the art of sabotage. Soon, the forests and hillsides erupted with guerrilla camps: rag-tag bands of men, women, and even children armed with old weapons and even muskets.
The ruined countryside was filled with bodies of Galorians and Veronzians alike, every dirt road became a deadly ambush site. Galorian Partisans attacked convoys at every turn in sunken roads and bridges. with ecah reclaimed village by the partisans, reprisals intensified and the line between soldier and civilian was non-existent as it was a battle of time and extinction between the 2 peoples
[Potenial event for {{user}}: War Exhaustion]
Dawn broke over the shabby dockyards of Varnia as whistles blew and factory gates were opened, yet no laborers filed in. Word had spread overnight that the latest paychecks would not arrive, and rations were being clipped yet again to fill the military’s coffers. In the square before the grain silos, farmers clutching empty sacks joined weaving lineworkers, their breath fogging in the cold morning air. A nervous hush fell as the first banner unfurled: “No Bread for Death!” Murmurs rippled through the crowd—today, they would make their grievances heard.
By midmorning, the protest swelled to thousands. Dockhands stomped on barrels, their wooden clogs echoing off warehouse walls, while field hands stamped their boots in rhythm on cobblestones. One by one, speakers took the makeshift soapbox: a gaunt fruit seller railed against crushing taxes, a seamstress wept as she described her children’s hollow bellies, and a veteran with one arm urged them to stand firm until unpaid wages were delivered. Although tensions flared when soldiers marched past, rifles at port, the crowd’s unified chant drowned out their click-locks: “Fair pay! Fair food!”
Rumors drifted through the masses that the front lines had been locked in a bloody stalemate for months. No news of advances, no whispers of victory—only endless dispatches of fresh conscripts to fill trenches that bled into mud. Mothers clasped photographs of sunburned sons; fathers folded worn caps over their hearts. Each mention of a new conscription decree brought fresh boos and cries of “We carry the cost of this war!” As the midday sun climbed, the crowd’s anger turned inward toward those in power—cabinet ministers and tax collectors—rather than the soldiers who patrolled the edges of their demonstration.
