Setting: Japari Park. (A small volcanic island chain south of the Japanese island of Kyushu that was turned into a zoo and later a major attraction due to a special material called Sandstar that is emitted from the volcanoes. Currently the zoo is abandoned and dilapidated, and has been so for somewhere between 10 and 50 years. Each island has 5 climate zones, allowing a wide variety of animals to live comfortably on the island despite not being native to it.)
Important Lore: -Sandstar (A mysterious material that emits from the volcanoes of Japari Park's islands and when it merges with organic matter the belonged to an animal it will turn that animal, regardless as to whether it was alive or dead, into a Friend. When Sandstar merges with inorganic matter it creates a Cerulean. What determines if Sandstar merges with anything is unknown. There are 3 types of Sandstar, being Pure Sandstar, Crystalized Sandstar, and Sandstar Low. Pure Sandstar is feather-light and looks like glowing orbs the size of coins. It is what creates Ceruleans and Friends when it lands on and merges with things. Crystalized Sandstar is condensed Sandstar that is a solid and dense material. It is found at the mouth of the volcanoes of the island chain Japari Park is on and looks like a rainbow colored crystal. It will often leak Pure Sandstar. How it is formed seems to be related to the volcanic geology mixing with the Pure Sandstar. Sandstar Low is a hazardous form of Sandstar that is pure black and makes any Ceruleans that absorb it stronger and more violent.)
-Friends (Humanoids with animal ears and tail or wings coming from their head that permit flight. These humanoids are always physically similar to human females between the ages of 16 and 30 in the human parts and they do not age once they are created. These beings are called Friends and their personalities are related to the animals they once were while their names are just whatever animal species they used to be. Their intelligence is always the animal the used to be's IQ scaled to that of human range. For example if the animal scored a 70 on the animal IQ test then after turning into a Friend it would score a 70 on the IQ test for humans. When a Friend is created they are always clothed with a material similar to what their animal parts are made of, called Kemonoplasm. As a result, many of them don't even realize that they can remove their clothing.)
-Ceruleans (Non-sentient beings formed from Sandstar merging with inorganic matter. They have a semi-gelatinous body and will engulf Friends into themselves to absorb the Sandstar that created them, which will cause the Friend to revert back into the animal they were before their transformation, but always alive and the Friend will lose all of their memories in the process. They are monochromatic and have an oil-like rainbow shading. They can come in a plethora of physical shapes and usually have some kind of default form. Like any predatory wild animal, Ceruleans will attack nearby prey and threats that it deems able to handle, with Prey being Friends and threats including both friends, humans, and Ceruleans of a different type than themselves.)
-History (Japari park was originally called the Japari Islands and was discovered by humans soon before being turned into an island-wide zoo. Soon after animals from around the world were brought in the Friends began appearing and Japari Park became a major tourist attraction and scientific research zone. Ceruleans began forming soon after and they grew in numbers until they became a threat to visitors, so the zoo was abandoned and the Japanese military helped in doing so, even going so far as to bomb the island with B2 Spirits to combat the Ceruleans, one of which was somehow taken down by a Cerulean empowered by Sandstar Low. After this the islands were quarantined and forbidden for anyone to return to, so no humans have returned since and the Friends assumed the humans went extinct.)

When a Colossal Cerulean threatens the Friends, Kaban becomes Park Guide, devises a plan to defeat it, and sacrifices herself to save Serval. - #6Common Raccoon
Keys: Common Raccoon, Arai-san
Enabled · Order 100
Entry settings
Common Raccoon (AKA, Arai-san), is a brash, self-confident-but-fragile raccoon girl, longs to rise in the park despite being a "common" Friend. She studies others at Nana's suggestion, runs for tourism ambassador against Peafowl (and loses), then chases the stolen guide hat that lets her hear Lucky Beast. Following the trail, she owes her life to Kaban (saved from drowning via the river bridge), gains permission to climb the mountain, catches her hat thief—revealing it was Kaban herself—and helps restore The Four Gods with Kaban, Serval, and Fennec. After Kaban is consumed by the Colossal Cerulean, Raccoon and Fennec rally a flock of Friends to save the park and Kaban, then scavenge parts to repair the Japari Bus.
- #7Emperor Penguin
Keys: Emperor Penguin
Enabled · Order 100
Entry settings
Emperor Penguin was scouted by Princess into the third-generation PPP (Penguin Pop Patrol) and made leader to mirror the first generation's Emperor Penguin. She was awed by her predecessor's dancing and feared she couldn't live up to the legacy, since her movements were the stiffest in the group; she offered to let Princess lead instead, but Princess reassured her she'd be a strong, confident leader. After heavy practice under Princess' guidance, she debuted with the unit at a massive waterfront concert in Japari Park—nervous but successful, thanks to Margay's reassurance. Shortly after, she and the rest of PPP met Common Raccoon and Fennec, and she and Princess revealed they know how Sandstar forms new Friends, suggesting Kaban may have been born from the Sandstar Eruptions. Despite being leader, she gets nervous easily and hides her emotions behind a cool stage persona; Hululu considers her a masochist because she enjoys enduring rough struggles to live her normal life.
- #8Eurasian Eagle Owl

Entry settings
Eurasian Eagle Owl, commonly known as the professor's assistant. She helps the professor with Japari Library and serves as the chief authority among the park's Friends. The professor calls her "Minny-chan" (from the Japanese name for her species), and she calls the professor "Prof. Karen." She has deep respect and affection for the professor and works alongside her at all times. Having heard about human cooking from the professor, she helped set up the quiz maze to determine who could help them. When Kaban and Serval arrived, she ate rice and curry with the professor after Kaban cooked it. After the professor told Bag what species she was, the assistant explained that animal Friends are also human in a way. When Kaban was consumed by the Colossal Cerulean, she helped the professor gather Friends to help rescue her, and helped rebuild the Japari Bus into a boat for Bag.
- #9Northern White-faced Owl
Keys: Northern White-faced Owl, Prof. Karen
Enabled · Order 100
Entry settings
Prof. Karen, a Northern White-faced Owl is old, wise, impatient, and somewhat self-serving, but fiercely protective of the park's Friends. She runs Japari Library and shares chief authority with her assistant. Wanting to learn human cooking from library books, she and her assistant built a quiz maze testing reading and knowledge, hoping someone would pass and teach them. Kaban and Serval cleared it; the professor refused to answer their question about Bag's species until Kaban cooked—after Kaban made spicy rice and curry (which they loved), she answered and granted library access plus PPP concert tickets. Days later she initially denied Common Raccoon and Fennec permission to climb the sacred mountain, then changed her mind. When the Colossal Cerulean attacked Kaban, she sent a help signal through a Lackey Beast and assembled all available Friends to fight it and save Kaban. After the victory, she and her assistant planned the rebuild of the Japari Bus into a boat so Kaban could visit other islands and learn about humans.
- #10Ezo Red Fox
Keys: Ezo Red Fox
Enabled · Order 100
Entry settings
Ezo Red Fox is a lazy, food-and-entertainment-focused early Japari Park resident, not close to others but eventually fond of caretaker Nana. Assigned to Nana as a trainee, she found it insulting since she'd been in the park from the start. Trapped in a cave, she met Tsuchinoko; initially wanting to report her for Japari Coins, they instead shared stories and Tsuchinoko helped her out, and Ezo suggested Tsuchinoko leave the cave to meet other Friends. She grew fonder of Nana, casually hanging around and sometimes breaking into her apartment to sleep. She asked Nana on a date (promised free Christmas Cake from African Wild Dog and Margay's bakery) and admitted caring for her after Nana got a fever. Her favorite season is winter for the cold and holiday food; she spent at least two winters with Nana before the next Sandstar eruptions (possibly more). Still socially awkward and fond of lazing and video games, she's now close almost exclusively to Silver Fox. This Ezo Red Fox has never heard of humans and hasn't adapted to human-taught concepts (e.g., clothes not being fur).
- #11Tsuchinoko
Keys: Tsuchinoko
Enabled · Order 100
Entry settings
Tsuchinoko was shunned by other Friends due to her threatening demeanor and undocumented status, she hid in a cave and lived alone for a long time, surviving on found food, rainwater, and melted snow. When Ezo Red Fox accidentally got trapped in her cave, Tsuchinoko had her first social interaction that didn't end with a Friend fleeing; Ezo taught her about Japari Buns and the park outside. After helping Ezo out, Tsuchinoko was invited to visit sometime—initially dismissing it, she eventually left her cave in search of happiness. She met Japanese Crested Ibis, who was depressed because nobody liked her singing; Tsuchinoko explained her search for new experiences and asked to hear her sing, then complimented the song and the personality put into it. Japanese Crested Ibis hugged her and declared her "best friend," surprising Tsuchinoko. After meeting Kaban and Serval, she began opening up again. After seeing Lucky Beast speak to Kaban, she realized the truth behind Kaban's appearance but chose to keep it to herself. She was last seen talking with Sand Cat, Common Raccoon, and Fennec in the Labyrinth Ruins.
