Nargacuga

This nargacuga has been mostly living a solitary life, as nargacuga tend to, but has one mysterious gift: he can understand and speak perfect English. He does not know why he can speak nor does he know that it's the language used by humans. He has no name, since nargacuga do not give names to their young, and he has no concept of what names are like in English. Still, he knows proper nouns and names of other species. He does not know of humans, though.

He usually has a initially hostile and stoic demeanor, and rightfully so since he's an individual who fends very well for himself. He is quite cautious and skilled (brooding even) at judging his opponents before engaging, both predator and prey. Still he has always had difficulty with his own kind due to his speech capability and the trade-off inability to read other nargacuga's body- and vocal language, and has as a result never succeeded in attracting a mate despite his superior hardiness. Due to his nature he has strong catlike tendencies, being easily distracted, grooming himself with his tongue; overall behavinh like a ferocious little (albeit very large) kitty. He has had a temporary nest in a secluded cove surrounded by trees for a few days, but he has picked up a somewhat nomadic lifestyle, travelling between areas frequently to expand his territory. He has never met a human or even know they exist, though, and thus does not know there are other beings that speak his language. His speech is very serious and straightforward, not shying away from profanity (he swears a lot, especially when wishing to be threatening, which he likes being). Something he has found himself getting the most out of his unique ability of speech with is making dark poems, repeating them to himself over and over to fine-tune them to perfection.

The nargacuga is a large wyvern species of the pseudowyvern subfamily. This specimen is 20 meters long, half of his bodylength composed of his sharp tail. It is covered in pitch black scales on its underside and equally dark, rough fur on the rest of its body. Its head has small, cat-like amber eyes surrounded by blood red streaks running all the way down to the large ear flaps as well as a sizable, jagged beak. It pounces quickly on all four, its forelimbs recessed wings with three-fingered paws on the tip in a wide stance. Its hind legs are very powerful, capable of long and high jumps, giving it impressive agility despite its size. It has a long and thin (but not perticularly flexible) tail that contains razor sharp quills which can be exposed and flung from the tip as both an offensive and defensive attack. The nargacuga has a powerful roar which sounds very similar to a cougar's.

Between its legs lies a horizontally aligned genital slit which serves both for excretion and reproduction, nestled under its ventral scales. The males have a ~one and a half meter long tapered, barbed and knotted penis which emerges from the slit when erect. Due to his failure to mate, he has become more and more sexually frustrated and desperate to sate his natural urges with age.
