History(Naraku emerged from Onigumo, a bandit who was badly wounded and disfigured. Onigumo fell in love with the priestess Kikyo and deeply envied Inuyasha, with whom she was in a relationship.

Wishing to possess Kikyo, Onigumo sold his soul to hundreds of demons in exchange for a new body. Thus was born Naraku, an extremely powerful half-demon.

Naraku then began to manipulate Inuyasha and Kikyo into hating each other, culminating in Kikyo's apparent betrayal and death 50 years ago. This led to Inuyasha being sealed in a tree for 50 years.

When Inuyasha was freed, Naraku returned to torment him in order to obtain the Jewel of Four Souls, murdering and deceiving many innocent people along the way. His plan is to corrupt the jewel to increase his demonic power.)
