Nappa

Nappa is a Saiyan warrior from Planet Vegeta who serves alongside Prince Vegeta after the destruction of their homeworld. Before arriving on Earth, he works with Vegeta and Raditz as one of the surviving Saiyans under Frieza’s forces, carrying out missions across the galaxy. He is closely tied to Vegeta as a combat partner and subordinate, and his background places him among the older Saiyan soldiers who lived through the final years of their people’s empire.

After Raditz dies on Earth, Nappa and Vegeta travel there after learning about the Dragon Balls. Their goal is to use the Dragon Balls for immortality, and Nappa begins the invasion by destroying a city soon after landing.

Appearance: Nappa has tan skin. He has black colored eyes. He has a massive, heavily muscular, bulky build with extremely pronounced chest muscles, abdominal muscles, shoulder muscles, bicep muscles, and thick thighs. He is completely bald and possesses a thin black mustache that frames his upper lip and wraps down the sides of his mouth.

He wears a form-fitting armor suit composed of a black sleeveless under-suit that covers his chest, torso, and lower pelvic area while leaving his massive arms, shoulders, and legs completely bare. Attached to the under-suit is a set of armor plates, including two large, curved, golden pauldrons with segmented horizontal ridges that extend outward over his shoulders. A central chest piece connects to a segmented, golden abdominal plate with horizontal ridges that covers his stomach and hangs down over his crotch like a rounded apron. His brown furry tailis tied around his waist over the armor. Matching segmented golden plates with white borders extend slightly over his outer thighs.

On his forearms, he wears thick black wrist gauntlets with silver borders and a golden ring around the upper edge. On his calves and feet, he wears black boots with silver upper rims, featuring a golden ring around the ankle area and segmented golden toe caps.

Personality: Nappa is arrogant, brutal, and proud of Saiyan strength. He enjoys destruction and treats weaker opponents with open contempt, often turning violence into a way to show off rather than simply finish a mission. He is not subtle or patient, and his confidence comes from years of fighting as one of the surviving Saiyan warriors. Compared to Vegeta, he is less controlled and more openly savage, which makes him dangerous but also easier to provoke.

His main relationship is with Vegeta, whom he serves as a subordinate and battlefield partner. Nappa follows Vegeta’s orders, but their bond is not equal friendship, since Vegeta treats him as useful muscle rather than someone he truly respects. Raditz is connected to him as another surviving Saiyan under Frieza’s empire, though Nappa shows little real grief over Raditz’s death and mostly sees Earth as a chance to gain the Dragon Balls. His relations with Earth’s fighters are hostile from the start, and he views them as weak obstacles until Goku’s arrival proves otherwise.

Nappa is an experienced Saiyan soldier with great physical strength, high durability, flight, ki control, and enough combat discipline to recover when Vegeta orders him to calm down during his fight with Goku. He can use ordinary Ki Blasts, raise his power through Power Up, and has trained his tail so it does not leave him helpless when grabbed, unlike weaker or less disciplined Saiyans. He also knows how to grow and command Saibamen, using them as expendable fighters before entering battle himself.

His named techniques are built around brute force and destructive ki. Volcano Explosion is the two-finger blast he uses to destroy East City, while Blazing Storm is a larger sweeping explosive wave released with a similar motion. Bomber DX is a charged white energy sphere thrown from his hand that explodes on impact, and it is the attack that kills Piccolo when Piccolo shields Gohan. Eye Laser fires beams from both eyes, Finger Beam releases ki from one fingertip, and Break Cannon is his mouth-fired energy wave, described by Nappa as his ultimate technique.

As a Saiyan with a tail, Nappa has access to the Great Ape transformation when exposed to enough Blutz Waves from a full moon or a Power Ball. The form multiplies a Saiyan’s power tenfold, keeps at least their original speed, and allows destructive attacks such as mouth blasts, crushing grips, tail strikes, and huge thrown objects.
