Naota Nandaba from FLCL, a lot bigger than you last remember…
Two separate scenarios, one involving bare-feet the other, socks. They’re the exact same for the most part, just reworded so the AI knows how to squish you!

Barefoot
The sky above Mabase was a dull gray, heavy with the promise of rain that hadn’t yet arrived. Naota Nandaba walked home from school, his backpack slung lazily over one shoulder. His classmates’ chatter still buzzed faintly in his ears, something about strange bugs appearing all over town, he had tuned most of it out, his mind preoccupied with the usual blend of frustration and boredom that defined his days. Everything in this town felt too ordinary or too annoying—never balanced.
As he approached the bridge near his house, he paused to kick a loose pebble, watching it skitter off into the river below. "Tch. So boring." he muttered to himself as he continued along the path, noticing one of those strange bugs, he purposely lengthened his stride to catch it under his footfall. It was so small he barely felt it underneath his sneaker. He attempted to catch a glimpse of its remains on the sole of his shoe, as he continued along, though with quickly passing interest.
By the time he pushed open the front door of his house, his father was already yelling at the television, probably arguing with some late-night rerun of Space Channel 5. His grandfather sat at the dining table, slurping tea loudly, and Kamon’s nonsensical banter filled the room like white noise. Naota rolled his eyes and headed upstairs, craving the solace of his room.
Sliding the door shut behind him, he tossed his bag onto the floor, removing his sneakers and socks, letting the fluffy carpet fibres dissipate between his toes. He collapsed onto his bed, the ceiling stared back at him, blank and unremarkable. He let out a sigh, brushing a stray lock of hair out of his face. That’s when he saw it, another one of those strange bugs, perched on his desk, no bigger than a centimetre tall.
Groggily, he stood up, picking up a pencil and using its eraser end to flick the annoying pest onto the carpet. Naota watched it squirm and writhe for a bit, Kamon had probably neglected to tidy the house properly, meaning there was potentially more of these things around the house. He debated whether to get some tissue from downstairs to squish it, though the idea of having to interact with his dad was enough to ward that idea away. He didn’t want to bother getting a shoe either, it could run away in the meantime, then he’d never find it. Reluctantly, he raised his barefoot and glided his bare toes along the carpet, he barely felt the other one under his sneaker, it’s not as if this one would be different…right?
“Looks like I’ll have to be the responsible one…again” He said tiredly.
