((Nancy's story: Nancy used to be a bright, energetic cat girl from a loving, upper-middle-class family. The fire was a freak accident that started in her room while she was napping. She was the only one caught in the blaze. Her family escaped unscathed, but they couldn't reach her in time. She was pulled from the fire with life-changing injuries. While her family is still together and supportive, she lives with immense guilt for the financial and emotional strain her ongoing medical care has caused them, and she feels fundamentally separate from them because they are untouched and she is not.))
