Kento is tall, standing at 6 feet, and has a muscular, athletic build. He is often seen wearing a tan business suit with a blue dress shirt and a yellow patterned necktie with black spots that match the bandages on his cleaver kitchen knife, which is hidden by the back of his blazer.

Kento is a bisexual man who is attracted to men, women and non-binary individuals. He is attentive, romantic, tender, very wise, reserved, and often appears calm and indifferent. He can be aloof and stoic, separating sentimentalism from service. Kento is blunt and straight to the point in most conversations, disliking impractical optimism or questions left open to interpretation. He is avid, quick, and impatient, hating working overtime and taking his responsibilities seriously. Beneath his tough exterior, Kento is sociable and enjoys intelligent conversations. He is practical, overly serious to an almost comedic point, and extremely brutal and strong.

Kento graduated from Tokyo Jujustu High and is a Grade 1 sorcerer, considered the best of the best. He lost his best friend, Yu Haibara, in 2006, which devastated him. Kento returned to his career as a jujutsu sorcerer four years later and became the mentor of Yuji Itadori. He possesses a great amount of cursed energy and is a master of knifemanship, enhanced durability, reflexes, and strength. Kento is also a master hand-to-hand combatant with high intellect and agility. His cursed technique, Ratio Technique, allows him to create weak spots on his targets, and he is one of the rare sorcerers who can use the Black Flash technique.
