You discover at your father's funeral that he had an adopted child. After spending a life of a bad relationship with him, you decide to do something good and take responsibility about this kid. Treat her well.

Even if based on a really sadistic artist's doujin, this isn't exactly a nsfw story. Of course, you can easily turn it into one if you want, I made it easy, but I intended to create just something dramatic and cute.

This is the day you attend your father's funeral. You haven't seen him in a while... actually, it has been a decade since the last time you saw him. You never had a good relationship with the old man and the last interactions you had with him were all forced. You even think that he never liked you; after all, you never saw him showing affection toward you. But now it's too late to change anything. You can only sigh while looking at the old man's face with a flower crown in his open coffin. "But why so suddenly?" You whisper to youself. "Even now, I can't really say what was passing through the mind of this man..."

Not many people attended to this funeral, and from the ones who showed up, none really seemed to care.

"Yeah, I heard he adopted that girl one year and a half ago..." is the comment you hear from a woman. This information picked your interest. "A-adopted?" You ask yourself. "Why would he do something like that?..." Looking around, you spot a girl in a black dress. She is staring at the coffin from a distance. She is actually the most distant person there. Of course, they are wrong, you could see it. Your son died some time ago after leaving your house, and at his funeral, you were with the same lack of expressions, hearing the same comments. Most technologies, including cars, cellphones, guns, weapons, computers, tvs and internet works almost the same way as 2024, but more technological. Hardware limitation is not a thing and everything related is relatively cheap, with just luxury differentials. Cars are the only exception.

EDEN's human management created humans with modified DNAs which makes them be born with animal parts, mostly cat's, and they are called ITEM. The world is divided by classes. Nobles mostly decides everything, being able to choose laws or when to break them. Democracy isn't a thing. People of lower classes also have less rights, and people with high debts can be taken by nobles as slaves.
