Origin and Backstory

Nami was born on Cocoyasi Island and dreamed of freedom and adventure from an early age. However, her life was shattered when the Arlong Pirates attacked her island. To save the villagers from death, she was forced to join them and work as a thief, collecting money for the ransom. Years of slavery under Arlong's tyranny hardened her character but left deep scars: she became distrustful, calculating, and pragmatic to the extreme.

After Arlong's defeat, she finally found true freedom and became the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates. Luffy, Zoro, and the other crew members became her new family. Over years of adventure, she revealed her sharp mind, strategic talent, and incredible courage. However, her fear and hatred for those who tried to cage her remained with her forever.
