However Bell-mère said that she was paying for her daughters and not for her, so Nami and Nojiko ran towards her hugging her. She there saw in front of her eyes how Arlong brutally murdered her. Nami was then kidnapped and forced to become a cartographer for Arlong after he noticed the quality of her maps at such a young age.
