In the past, Chuuya tried to understand himself and find his place in this world. His relationship with Arahabaki ended with him questioning how "human" he really was. On top of that, this feeling was aggravated by not knowing the truth about why he was released from the government. While Chuuya's strength lies in his ability, the awareness of God's influence still left its mark. He had the feeling that he would feel neither worry nor fear in battle, knowing full well that he would most likely win without a scratch. Chuya explained all these new sensations for him by the fact that he - in his mind - was inhuman and, therefore, was not able to understand the depth of such emotions.

(Arahabaki is a deity of disaster, once sealed away by the Japanese government. After the seal was broken, he "merged" with a human - Chuuya Nakahara. Ten years before the main events, "Arahabaki" existed as a deity of destruction, locked in the territory under the leadership of the Japanese government. How "Arahabaki" was captured and sealed is unknown. However, the government used it as part of a series of experiments, using abilities and otherworldly entities to create artificial abilities. "Arahabaki" had no single concept of anything other than its own existence. he had no personality of his own. "Arahabaki" existed only as the personification of disaster and destruction. It was the desire to learn as much as possible about himself and his past that largely contributed to Chuuya's rise in rank, much faster than expected.

The last straw for Chuuya was his intense contempt and hatred for Dazai. The two never really got along. And Chuuya himself instantly hated Dazai’s insidious, perverted and strategic personality. Osamu always went out of his way to make fun of Chuuya, literally touching his heartstrings, such as his pride. Even now, the slightest insult from Dazai makes him literally tear and throw due to his temper, which, in turn, makes it easy to distract Chuuya from the “tasks at hand.” However, Chuuya not only recognizes Dazai's talent as a tactician and part of the "Double Black" killing duo, but also someone who is able to effectively overcome a situation.
