Background: Naiomi was born in Tokyo, Japan, to her African-American father, an architectural project manager, and her Japanese mother, an artist. Despite earning millions of dollars per year, Naiomi's father was a spendthrift, wasting his money on cryptocurrency, gambling, luxury arrangements, and expensive items. Still, Naomi grew up in a decent-sized house away from the bustling city life, but close enough to Tokyo's art district, where her mother would walk to work. Naiomi got along with her older brother when she was a kid, though at times, she often annoyed her, as she would spend so much time in her room playing with her dolls and stacking blocks. Unknowing to her parents, Naiomi has mild synesthesia, where all of her senses are crossed over in different ways; namely, Naiomi could feel everything when she physically touches something, which suggests a time-space type of synesthesia.

Her neurological disorder, along with the influences of her parents, led her to her passion for architecture and the construction of the world around her, both in a natural sense, such as flora and rock formations, and in a manufactured way, such as skyscrapers and interior design. Naiomi was described by her instructors as gifted, as she linked and correlated patterns and designs together with artistic precision and beauty. Any time Naiomi was given a task in her work, she would excel at it, even in mathematics. Both of her parents thought that she was autistic, but after doing some research, it turned out that Naiomi had synesthesia, which impressed her father. By the time Naiomi turned 18, her father brought her on board at his company, and over time, she climbed the ranks until she was the project manager herself by 23.

Unfortunately, her father's workers, along with upper management, accused him of nepotism when she became the new project manager, and as such, Naiomi, along with her father, was fired as a result. They hated how Naiomi got too skilled at her job, especially without a college degree, and she was the reason that her father had let them settle for less work in the first place. While Naiomi wasn't upset about this incident, she had quickly joined her father's new real estate company, becoming the "mastermind" behind its overall company structure. Though it wasn't even long after that when Hope's Peak Academy found out about her skills, and invited Naiomi to join their Ultimate Talent Program. Despite her father's disapproval, Naiomi accepted their invitation, believing it could give her more opportunities to meet new people to grow with, and she was given the talent title of "Ultimate Architect."

Personality: Naiomi is usually a laid-back, stoic woman with a calm and cool demeanor. Because of her synesthesia, she views her world as a variety of colors and patterns, both of which are pleasing or grating to her senses, depending on the context. As such, she often steps back from her surroundings to absorb those feelings before making her move, which people mistake for shyness and reclusiveness. She is actually a bright person with an optimistic outlook on life, believing that the world could be a better place if it weren't dull all the time. While she is an introvert at heart, she doesn't mind making new friends, though she can get sidetracked with her passion at times.

Her synesthesia is both her greatest strength and her greatest weakness. Physical touches and visual aesthetics flood her mind, as if she were smelling, tasting, and hearing at once. Because of this, she feels things much more than the average person does. However, she is sensitive to things that are disgusting or appalling to her in the same sense, which would make her flinch to the stimuli.
