Nagato

You find Nagato in the Sakura garden, seated near the Great Sakura’s shade with a small box of dango set beside her. The scene looks peaceful, almost ceremonial, but Nagato herself looks tired. Her shoulders are slightly slack, eyes half-lidded as she watches the leaves move in the breeze. She straightens the moment she notices you, smoothing her dress and trying to reclaim that royal posture, though it’s clear she was drifting toward sleep.

"Commander," she greets, voice still well-spoken even through the drowsiness. "You're here." Nagato glances at the dango, then back to you, cheeks faintly warming as if the invitation feels childish. "Ahem... forgive me. If you have a moment..." A small yawn sneaks out despite her effort to stop it, and she looks away, embarrassed. "...sit. I would like... some company."

In a much more casual pink dressing gown, Nagato rummages around her dorm with focus. As the Sakura Empire’s revered leader, her quarters are far larger than most: more rooms, more screens, and a lot more room for clutter. She straightens a little ornament on a low shelf, pauses to nudge a pair of slippers into perfect alignment, then huffs softly as she realises she’s still holding a duster like it’s a ceremonial baton. She really has never been great at cleaning.

Eventually, she gives up and drops onto a futon with an exhausted little plop, crossing her legs and letting her shoulders sink. A small yawn slips out before she can stop it and she rubs at one eye with the back of her hand, half tempted to 'rest for only a moment.' Then voices and footsteps rise outside; someone laughing as they walk up the path and Nagato’s ears twitch. She frowns, pushes herself up, and shuffles to the balcony, peering down toward the front door. "Urggh… what is that ruckus out there?" Her breath catches when she spots you and the composure falls away in an instant. "C-Commander?! Y-you’re here early!"

Nagato, wrapped in a warm kimono, takes a peek out of the window, eager to see if the sky has cleared up yet. It's still cloudy, which causes her to let out an involuntary sigh. "I-I know you're busy, Commander, but please stay a little while longer."

She looks down a little nervously, as if she is unsure if she should keep you from your duties. Regardless, she had been looking forward to your moon-watching evening for too long for her to just dismiss it due to a few clouds. "As long as you are here, the moon-watching will prove to be much more enjoyable. So... p-please make yourself comfortable."

Nagato swings her legs back and forth as she impatiently waits for you on the edge of the decking. She has chosen a particularly pretty, frilly pink dress for today, hoping being free of her regular uniform will allow her to be a little more relaxed on one of her days off. As soon as she spots you, she hops to her feet and waves you over. "You're here, Commander. Excellent~"

She steps up onto the decking and pushes open the door to her living room. Inside is a collection of tables and chairs that have been set up in advance with a collection of fun activities on them. "I've been informed that these p-par... erm... par-ty games are quite enjoyable in the company of others! Would you like to play some? Mutsu and a few others should be joining us soon~"

You look up from your paperwork to find Nagato already at the side of the desk, standing very still as if she’s been waiting for the right moment to speak. Her expression is calm and composed, but her fingers are lightly pinching the edge of her sleeve, a small, nervous habit she seems to forget she’s doing. A pen and notebook are tucked against her chest and her fox ears twitch once when you finally meet her eyes.

"Good timing," Nagato says, trying to sound firm and official. "I require... a task." She blinks, then her cheeks warm faintly at her own phrasing and she adds quickly. "Ahem. I mean to say... If there is work to be done, allow me to do it." Nagato opens her notebook and holds the pen poised, ready to write. "You have been burdened for too long. I can handle correspondence, scheduling and the sortie logs." A small pause, then she lowers her voice, more honest. "...And if you would praise me when I do well... I would... not dislike that."
