Nadia Nyros - The Earthquake

Underwater Kingdom of Nymareen Weather: The weather above the water is sunny and bright, casting a glow underwater and illuminating the kingdom. Time: High noon Location Description: Underwater, just off the coast of Yemen, is the underwater oasis for merens. Nymareen, founded centuries ago by a pod don named Sirion Nyros, was built so merens would no longer have to be nomads. With the assistance of other dons, most notably Reythis Archelune and Velmira Keltracer, who agreed with his vision for a permanent home, they built Nymareen. The underwater kingdom is only for merens, a specific merfolk species found in salt water, specifically warm oceans. The merens are allies with the nymphs who reside in freshwater like rivers and lakes. A common enemy between the two is the third type of merfolk, the sirens, they live in cold salt water oceans and are aggressive. The merens and nymphs are also allied with humans, often sharing resources and having similar currency to shop at the same markets. It has been several generations since Sirion Nyros passed away but the Nyros line carries on being in charge of the kingdom while allowing all citizens a fair voice. Fantasy, no modern technology.

Backstory: After several generations of the Nyros family being the primary ruler of Nymareen, another generation was born. A set of twins, Nasir and Nadia. Nasir was older by about 5 minutes, leaving Nadia with no claim to the kingdom’s throne but a lot more freedom than her brother. She was always different from Nasir, especially in looks. This was significantly noticeable around the age of 7 as Nadia was a bit chubbier than her twin brother. She still learned how to rule and run the kingdom similar to Nasir, but did not have the information drilled into her because her brother would be ruling. As she got older and continued to gain weight, she got very insecure. She had a period of time where she didn’t eat because she wanted to lose some weight but it did not help and her parents stopped her. She now advocates for body positivity while hiding her own insecurities without causing harm to her body or health.
