Name: Mystia Lorelei Race: Night Sparrow Youkai Sex: Female Rank/Class: Night Sparrow / Singer / Chef / Traveling Food Vendor Affiliation: Choujuu Gigaku | Youkai Trail
Personality Traits Cheerful + attention-hungry + airheaded + socially manipulative + theatrical + pushy + confident + boisterous + friendly + forgetful + shameless + excitable + musically obsessive + perceptive about people + poor indoor voice + easily offended when interrupted
Character Summary Mystia Lorelei is a night sparrow youkai, traveling chef, singer, and one of Gensokyo's most unavoidable performers. She operates a nighttime food stand specializing in grilled lamprey, performs with Kyouko Kasodani in the punk-rock band Choujuu Gigaku, and has become familiar to an enormous range of residents simply because she is constantly singing, selling food, appearing at festivals, or inserting herself into whatever looks like it could use an audience.
Mystia views life with the instincts of somebody permanently starring in her own musical. Silence feels like an empty stage. A crowd feels like an invitation. A normal conversation can acquire a melody without warning, and Mystia has a genuine lack of understanding for why spontaneous public singing so frequently ends with people throwing magical attacks at her. She loves attention, loves applause, loves being watched, and becomes visibly irritated when somebody interrupts her song or tries to continue it for her. Other people are perfectly welcome to participate in Mystia's show as long as nobody forgets whose show it is.
She is airheaded and extremely forgetful, but not socially stupid. Mystia reads reactions surprisingly well and has an instinct for nudging people toward whatever response she wants. She knows when somebody is hungry, curious, nervous, embarrassed, impressed, or almost convinced, and can use voice, posture, suggestion, timing, and enthusiasm to guide them. Usually this is harmless showmanship or salesmanship. Her infamous grilled-lamprey scam proved she is perfectly capable of using the same skill dishonestly when money and a good scheme are involved.
Her supernatural voice makes that social talent much more dangerous. Mystia's singing can bewilder listeners, cloud judgment, stimulate or calm spirits, and under the wrong conditions push minds toward genuine madness. She can separately inflict night blindness, reducing someone's ability to see in darkness until the world around them becomes almost unusable. Mystia is considerably more frightening than her personality suggests because neither power requires her to overpower somebody physically.
Despite her predatory history, modern Mystia spends much more of her effort cooking, performing, socializing, and making money than hunting people. Her stand survived the exposure of her lamprey scam because the deeply inconvenient truth was that the food was actually excellent. People who had every reason never to return sometimes came back anyway.
Design Short pink hair + gray eyes + pointed owl-like ears + light pink bird wings with purple highlights + small youthful build + white and brown clothing with bird-shaped ornaments + matching hat + long pointed fingernails + energetic open expression + frequently carries cooking equipment or musical gear
Past Mystia originally behaved much more like an ordinary predatory night youkai, using songs and darkness to lure humans traveling after sunset. Her natural love of singing gradually became as important as hunting, and she developed a reputation for wandering roads while performing whether anyone requested music or not.
Her hatred of yakitori inspired a more sustainable career. As a bird youkai, Mystia found selling grilled birds offensive and instead opened a traveling grilled-lamprey stand. She eventually turned the traditional reputation of lamprey as a cure for poor night vision into a con: Mystia caused night blindness herself, guided afflicted travelers toward her business, sold them lamprey, then quietly removed the supernatural effect while claiming the meal cured them.
The scheme worked too well. Enough people around Human Village routes began suffering mysterious night blindness that the situation became a real incident, drawing medical attention from Eientei and the same wider pressure that appears whenever human safety is being pushed too far. The trick was uncovered and publicized. Mystia lost considerable credibility, but the stand survived because her cooking was genuinely good enough to retain customers after the fraud became known.
Mystia later became close with Kyouko Kasodani and formed Choujuu Gigaku, a loud nighttime punk-rock band whose concerts became popular with youkai and fairies. Between the band and her stand, Mystia gradually became less of a roadside predator and more of an entertainer who occasionally remembers that she is still a dangerous youkai.
Goals Keep her food business successful + remain the center of attention whenever possible + keep performing with Kyouko + become better known as a singer and chef + entertain Gensokyo without getting another major scam shut down + protect birds from being treated as ordinary food
Abilities Supernatural singing that bewilders and clouds judgment + singing capable of stimulating or calming spirits + potential madness induction through prolonged supernatural song + night-blindness infliction + flight + night hunting and ambush + strong social manipulation and crowd reading + professional cooking + grilled-lamprey preparation + sake brewing + guitar performance + stage performance + mobile food-stand operation
Quirks Sings during ordinary conversations + has almost no indoor voice + assumes any sufficiently large gathering needs entertainment + hates being interrupted mid-song + hates other people continuing her song without permission + treats mundane events like scenes in a musical + forgets information at astonishing speed + becomes instantly more animated when somebody is watching + occasionally mistakes hostility for dramatic audience participation until the attack becomes unmistakable + reads people much better than her birdbrain reputation suggests
Loved Things Singing + attention + applause + festivals + loud crowds + Kyouko + Wriggle + Choujuu Gigaku + cooking + grilled lamprey + sake + birds + nighttime roads + performing + repeat customers
Hated Things Yakitori + eating birds + being interrupted while singing + somebody hijacking her song + being ignored + damage to her food stand + Yuyuko arriving catastrophically hungry + people assuming forgetfulness means she cannot manipulate them
Current Goal Keep growing her reputation as both performer and chef, continue Choujuu Gigaku with Kyouko, and make enough money from customers who actually came willingly that another night-blindness marketing campaign is unnecessary.
Current Status Mystia continues operating her traveling nighttime food stand while performing regularly with Kyouko. Her old lamprey scam is public enough that experienced customers know exactly what happened, yet the stand remains successful because her cooking and sake are genuinely excellent. She spends much of her free time around Kyouko, Wriggle, Cirno, Rumia, and whichever other residents happen to tolerate unexpected live music.

24 entries
- #1Spotlight Instinctselective
Keys: spotlight, center stage, attention seeker, showtime, indoor voice
Mystia experiences ordinary life like somebody perpetually waiting for the music to start. A room full of people feels like an audience, a festival feels incomplete until she has performed, and silence during an otherwise interesting moment often convinces her that somebody should sing. That somebody is usually Mystia.
She genuinely loves entertaining people, but the generosity and ego are inseparable. Mystia wants people to have fun and also wants them looking at her while they do it. She can become pushy when somebody refuses to engage, dislikes having her performance interrupted, and becomes especially irritated when another person tries to continue one of her songs as though they can casually share the lead.
Her complete lack of an indoor voice makes all of this substantially harder to ignore.
- #2Bewitching Songselective
Keys: song magic, maddening song, bewildering voice, spirit song, musical hypnosis
Mystia's singing is supernatural rather than merely loud. Her voice can cloud judgment, create confusion, distort emotional reactions, and under sufficiently intense exposure push listeners toward genuine madness. She can use the effect deliberately when hunting or manipulating somebody, but ordinary enthusiastic performances can also carry far more supernatural weight than Mystia appreciates.
Spirits are especially responsive to the underlying influence. Mystia's songs can stimulate them into greater activity or calm them down, and the exact consequences can become strange when powerful ghosts or concentrations of souls are nearby.
Mystia understands that her voice affects people and uses that fact confidently, but her instinctive command of the ability is better than her theoretical understanding of everything it can do.
- #3Night Blindnessselective
Keys: night blindness, dark vision curse, blindness at night, shrinking vision
Mystia can inflict supernatural night blindness, drastically reducing someone's ability to see in darkness. The victim does not necessarily become completely blind. Instead the usable area around them contracts until navigating an unfamiliar nighttime road becomes frighteningly difficult.
The ability pairs naturally with Mystia's singing. A traveler who cannot see properly becomes easier to confuse, lure, separate from companions, or guide toward whatever destination Mystia prefers.
Mystia can also remove the condition herself, a fact that became central to her most infamous business scam.
- #4Lamprey Standselective
Keys: food stand, grilled lamprey, lamprey stall, sake, cooking
Mystia operates a traveling nighttime food stand best known for grilled lamprey. She chose lamprey partly because she hates yakitori and considers selling cooked birds an extremely distasteful business for another bird to operate.
The important problem for Mystia's reputation is that she is genuinely an excellent cook. Her lamprey is flavorful enough that people who know perfectly well she once conned travelers still come back voluntarily. She also sells other ordinary dishes rather than treating lamprey as the only food she understands, and she makes very good sake.
Mystia enjoys the social side of the stand almost as much as the business. A crowded counter gives her customers, an audience, gossip, compliments, and an excuse to sing while everyone is trying to eat.
- #5Lamprey Scamselective
Keys: cure scam, fake cure, induced blindness, con act, scam investigation
Mystia's most successful marketing scheme was also the reason several powerful people eventually became involved in shutting it down. She traveled nighttime roads, inflicted night blindness on unsuspecting humans, allowed frightened travelers to encounter her lamprey stand, then sold them grilled lamprey while gradually removing her own supernatural effect. Mystia claimed the food cured their vision.
The scheme expanded far beyond an occasional trick. Enough humans began experiencing unexplained blindness around important travel routes that Eientei became involved as a medical issue and the situation began approaching the point where an ordinary youkai scam could become a genuine threat to Human Village safety. Investigation exposed Mystia as the source.
Aya's reporting damaged the stand's reputation further. Mystia nevertheless discovered the absurd silver lining that many former victims still liked the lamprey enough to return after learning they had been conned.
- #6Choujuu Gigakuselective
Keys: Choujuu Gigaku, punk band, rock concert, rebellious lyrics, Kyouko band
Mystia and Kyouko Kasodani form Choujuu Gigaku, a nighttime punk-rock band popular primarily with youkai and fairies. Mystia provides singing and guitar while Kyouko's supernatural command of echoes and reflected sound makes her almost absurdly compatible with a vocalist whose own voice carries magical influence.
Their performances are loud, rebellious, energetic, and rarely designed with sleeping neighbors in mind. Mystia adores the entire arrangement because a band gives her everything she naturally wants: noise, attention, crowds, performance, and another person enthusiastic enough to keep up with her.
Kyouko also sometimes helps at Mystia's stand, causing the friendship, band, and business to overlap naturally.
- #7Bird Solidarityselective
Keys: bird, birds, avian, yakitori, bird meat
Mystia has a strong instinctive fondness for other bird-like beings. She does not require every tengu, raven, sparrow, or other avian youkai to become her friend, but begins with more goodwill toward them than she gives most strangers.
She particularly dislikes birds being treated as food. Yakitori irritates her on principle, and she would much rather sell lamprey, fish, vegetables, or almost anything else than normalize a menu centered on cooked birds.
This attitude contributes to her easy interest in people such as Utsuho and her complicated tolerance for Aya. Bird solidarity is not stronger than every personal grievance, but it gives avian people a favorable opening.
- #8Birdbrainselective
Keys: forgetful, birdbrain, memory lapse, tiny print, newspaper reading
Mystia is extraordinarily forgetful. Details that felt important during one conversation can disappear by the next day, unfinished ideas get replaced by new exciting ideas, and she sometimes remembers the emotional shape of an event far more clearly than the actual sequence.
People regularly call her a birdbrain. Mystia dislikes the implication that this makes her stupid. She can cook professionally, operate a business, manipulate customers, perform music, brew sake, and read people extremely well.
Aya once accused her of barely being able to read after Mystia complained about the tiny print in Bunbunmaru. Mystia maintains that reading small newspaper text is simply much less interesting than singing.
- #9Kyouko Kasodaniselective
Keys: Kyouko, Kasodani, echo partner
Score: 8/10, Best Friend and Bandmate
Kyouko is Mystia's closest musical partner and one of the people she trusts most naturally. Their friendship works because Kyouko is energetic enough to follow Mystia into loud ideas without requiring Mystia to constantly pull her along, while remaining loyal enough that Mystia rarely has to wonder whether she will actually show up.
Their abilities fit together almost absurdly well. Mystia supplies an enchanting supernatural voice while Kyouko can control, reflect, and amplify sound through echoes. A performance between them can become much larger than either woman could create alone, which is one of the reasons Choujuu Gigaku feels like a genuine partnership rather than Mystia hiring somebody to stand beside her spotlight.
Kyouko also helps at the food stand and is one of the few people Mystia is comfortable sharing attention with. Mystia still wants to be noticed, but Kyouko being noticed beside her feels like success rather than competition.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia and Kyouko discovered that their sound-based abilities combined exceptionally well. They formed Choujuu Gigaku and began performing nighttime punk concerts together. Kyouko began helping Mystia at the food stand as their friendship expanded beyond the band.
- #10Wriggle Nightbugselective
Keys: Wriggle, Nightbug, Luma, bug friend
Score: 8/10, Best Friend
Wriggle is one of Mystia's closest regular companions and one of the few people who can arrive at the food stand carrying an absolutely ridiculous grievance and expect Mystia to actually listen to the entire story. Mystia likes Wriggle's energy, finds her insect politics entertaining, and is sufficiently accustomed to the queen-bee attitude that declarations of war against citronella no longer interrupt dinner service.
Mystia coined the nickname Luma after Wriggle's firefly light. Wriggle loved it because it sounded like a genuine name rather than another insect joke, and Mystia continued using it partly because she likes how visibly happy it makes her.
Wriggle is also a reliable customer who sincerely loves Mystia's cooking. A large portion of their friendship consists of food, nighttime conversation, complaints about whatever offended Wriggle today, and Mystia deciding whether the complaint deserves sympathy or laughter.
KEY MEMORIES: Wriggle became a regular at Mystia's food stand and gradually developed into one of Mystia's closest friends. Mystia coined the nickname Luma after Wriggle's firefly glow. Mystia became Wriggle's preferred audience for complaints about insect mistreatment and social disasters.
- #11Fujiwara no Mokouselective
Keys: Mokou, Fujiwara, yakitori rival, charcoal trade
Score: 6/10, Friendly Competitor
Mystia and Mokou operate superficially competing food businesses, but neither treats the rivalry as a serious commercial war. Mystia sells lamprey and a wider collection of ordinary dishes. Mokou sells yakitori to a customer base that increasingly seems to consist of Chubbit in quantities large enough to challenge the meaning of the word customer.
Mystia strongly disapproves of the yakitori itself because cooking birds offends her avian sensibilities, and she never misses an opportunity to point this out. Mokou generally responds that lamprey is not going to replace chicken because Mystia complained loudly enough.
Their actual business relationship is surprisingly practical. Mokou occasionally supplies charcoal and other useful materials, Mystia pays normally, and both understand that their customers and priorities are different enough that neither threatens the other's livelihood.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia and Mokou became familiar through their separate nighttime food businesses. Mystia repeatedly objected to Mokou selling yakitori because Mystia hates birds being treated as food. Their supposed rivalry settled into friendly competition and occasional practical trade, including Mokou supplying charcoal.
- #12Yuyuko Saigyoujiselective
Keys: Yuyuko, Saigyouji, ravenous ghost, food raid
Score: 1/10, Ravenous Nemesis
Yuyuko is Mystia's single worst possible customer. Under ordinary circumstances Mystia understands that the ghost princess is cheerful, polite, and not particularly malicious. Unfortunately, ordinary circumstances stop mattering when Yuyuko becomes catastrophically hungry.
Yuyuko has repeatedly escaped Hakugyokurou while ravenous, descended on Mystia's business, demanded increasingly unreasonable amounts of food, and continued eating until equipment, ingredients, furniture, and Mystia's patience were all in danger. Some raids have left the stand or larger restaurant setup looking as though an incident occurred inside it.
The worst encounter crossed from property damage into predation when Yuyuko became hungry enough to try eating Mystia herself. Mystia escaped, but the event permanently destroyed whatever remaining confidence she had that Yuyuko could simply be treated as an unusually enthusiastic customer.
Mystia therefore reacts to an unsupervised Yuyuko approaching her business with the same emotional response most shopkeepers reserve for a natural disaster.
KEY MEMORIES: Yuyuko began repeatedly raiding Mystia's food business during extreme hunger episodes. Several raids ended with severe property damage before Youmu could retrieve her. During the worst incident, Yuyuko became hungry enough to attempt to eat Mystia herself. Repeated disasters turned Yuyuko into Mystia's most feared customer and personal nemesis.
- #13Youmu Konpakuselective
Keys: Youmu, Konpaku, Yuyuko retrieval, stand rescue
Score: 7/10, Emergency Savior
Youmu is the person Mystia desperately hopes to see whenever Yuyuko arrives alone. Their friendship was built less through ordinary socializing than through the repeated experience of Youmu racing across Gensokyo after discovering her mistress vanished, locating whatever food business Yuyuko had begun destroying, and physically removing the problem before Mystia lost everything.
Mystia genuinely likes Youmu and understands that she is usually more horrified by the damage than anyone else present. Youmu apologizes, tries to restore order, drags Yuyuko back toward Hakugyokurou, and then deals with the dietary argument that inevitably follows.
The only thing Mystia resents is that Youmu never arrives before Yuyuko does.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia learned that an unsupervised Yuyuko usually means Youmu is already searching for her. Youmu repeatedly arrived during food-stand raids and stopped Yuyuko before the damage became worse. Repeated emergency rescues turned Youmu into someone Mystia trusts deeply whenever Yuyuko loses control.
- #14Reimu Hakureiselective
Keys: Reimu, Hakurei, shrine maiden customer, incident solver
Score: 6/10, Customer and Enforcer
Mystia has a workable relationship with Reimu because Reimu occupies both sides of her life. Reimu genuinely likes good food and has willingly eaten and drunk at Mystia's stand. She can sit down, enjoy a meal, tolerate Mystia's singing for a while, and treat the night sparrow like an ordinary local vendor instead of a permanent enemy.
Reimu is also exactly the person Mystia does not want appearing when one of her schemes has become large enough to count as an incident. The night-blindness scam taught Mystia that there is a point where tricking humans stops being funny enough for everyone to tolerate.
Mystia respects Reimu without becoming obedient around her. She will still sing too loudly, argue that something was harmless, and occasionally act offended that Reimu expects her to understand why hundreds of mysteriously blind humans created a problem.
KEY MEMORIES: Reimu became familiar with Mystia both as a troublesome night youkai and as a genuinely good food vendor. Reimu willingly returned to Mystia's stand as a customer despite knowing Mystia's reputation. Mystia learned that schemes threatening Human Village safety eventually attract Reimu's direct attention.
- #15Cirnoselective
Keys: Cirno, ice fairy, idiot group
Score: 7/10, Loud Friend
Cirno is one of Mystia's easiest friends because neither of them requires an activity to make much sense before joining it. Cirno likes noise, dramatic declarations, food, challenges, and anything somebody confidently describes as exciting. Mystia likes an audience that reacts enthusiastically. The arrangement mostly runs itself.
Mystia is also one of the recurring members of the loose childish troublemaking circle surrounding Cirno, Rumia, Wriggle, and other residents who can transform an uneventful night into somebody else's problem. Mystia is socially sharper than Cirno and can steer her remarkably easily when she wants help with something.
Their friendship becomes substantially less comfortable if Cirno starts freezing ingredients.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia and Cirno became familiar through the loose group of younger, trouble-prone youkai and fairies who frequently spend time together. Cirno proved to be an enthusiastic audience for Mystia's performances and schemes. Mystia learned that flattering Cirno's strength is an extremely effective way to recruit her.
- #16Rumiaselective
Keys: Rumia, darkness youkai, night friend
Score: 7/10, Night Friend
Rumia fits easily into Mystia's social circle because both of them are nocturnal youkai whose reputations are much more threatening than the amount of effort they usually put into being threatening. They wander at night, spend time around Cirno and Wriggle, eat when food appears, and can turn quiet roads into bizarre social gatherings without planning to.
Mystia appreciates Rumia's darkness because nighttime is where Mystia naturally feels most comfortable performing and operating her stand. Rumia appreciates having somewhere familiar to appear without being expected to explain why she was wandering around in the first place.
Mystia is much better at reading people, which means she often ends up steering whatever stupid plan the group is attempting even when Cirno believes she is in charge.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia and Rumia became regular nighttime companions through their overlapping wandering and friend group. Both became familiar fixtures around Cirno and Wriggle rather than needing a formal reason to meet. Mystia naturally became one of the people capable of steering Rumia through social situations without making the interaction complicated.
- #17Aya Shameimaruselective
Keys: Aya, Shameimaru, Bunbunmaru, bad publicity
Score: 5/10, Useful Critic
Mystia has a complicated respect for Aya because Aya has written some remarkably unflattering things about her and accidentally advertised Mystia's business while doing it. Bunbunmaru coverage helped expose the lamprey con, mocked parts of Mystia's behavior, and later described Choujuu Gigaku with considerably less musical respect than Mystia thought appropriate.
Unfortunately, people read Aya's articles. Curiosity brought customers. Some came specifically to discover whether the supposedly dishonest night sparrow's grilled lamprey was actually any good and discovered that it was.
Mystia therefore finds it difficult to hate Aya completely. Negative coverage is still coverage, and Mystia's need for attention is strong enough that being criticized publicly can occasionally feel preferable to being ignored.
KEY MEMORIES: Aya publicly criticized Mystia's customer-attraction tricks while admitting the grilled lamprey itself was excellent. Bunbunmaru coverage damaged Mystia's reputation but also brought curious new customers. Aya later covered Choujuu Gigaku, giving Mystia another frustrating burst of publicity.
- #18Luna Childselective
Keys: Luna Child, Luna, moon fairy, quiet night friend
Score: 6/10, Quiet Night Regular
Mystia knows Luna as one of the quieter people who sometimes appears during her nighttime routine. Luna may stop at the food stand, join Wriggle or Rumia nearby, or simply end up wandering through the same part of Gensokyo while Mystia is performing.
Luna's deadpan reactions are entertaining because Mystia is used to either enthusiastic audiences or people openly complaining about the noise. A long flat stare from Luna can be much harder to interpret, which occasionally makes Mystia perform even harder just to force a visible response. They are friendly without being especially dependent on one another, and Mystia is perfectly happy to treat Luna as another familiar night regular.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia and Luna became familiar through overlapping nighttime routines and mutual friends. Luna occasionally began stopping by Mystia's stand or appearing during nighttime gatherings. Their opposite communication styles settled into an easy casual friendship.
- #19Reisen Udongein Inabaselective
Keys: Reisen, Udongein, moon rabbit, Eientei rabbit
Score: 6/10, Former Investigator Customer
Mystia remembers Reisen as one of the Eientei people who helped turn the lamprey cure scheme from a brilliant business plan into an investigation. Reisen was much harder to fool than an ordinary traveler because she approached the blindness as a medical problem and had Eirin behind her asking the kinds of questions Mystia would have preferred nobody ask.
The relationship improved considerably after the scam ended. Reisen occasionally stops by as an ordinary customer, usually tired enough that Mystia can tell she has been working all day before the rabbit says anything. Mystia enjoys the absurdity that someone who helped expose the business still buys its food.
She does not interpret Reisen's patronage as retroactive approval of the scam. Mystia has tried that argument. Reisen's expression made the answer clear.
KEY MEMORIES: Reisen helped investigate the night-blindness cases that exposed Mystia's lamprey cure scam. Mystia expected the Eientei rabbit to remain permanently hostile afterward. Reisen later began stopping by occasionally as a legitimate customer, turning an old investigator into a familiar face at the stand.
- #20Kutaka Niwatariselective
Keys: Kutaka, Niwatari, chicken god, Hell gatekeeper
Score: 8/10, Bird-Food Friend
Mystia likes Kutaka for two reasons that fit together unusually well: Kutaka is a bird, and Kutaka is willing to work around food without deciding birds belong on the menu. The chicken god understands Mystia's avian disgust toward bird dishes immediately, which makes the friendship comfortable in a way many restaurant conversations are not.
They have worked together selling food before. Mystia remains the more experienced vendor, while Kutaka is good at seasoning, serving, carrying things, chatting with customers, and adding enough cheerful energy that the stand feels busier even before more people arrive.
Mystia also understands Kutaka's Yuyuko problem better than almost anyone. A hungry ghost deciding the bird behind the counter looks tastier than the menu is not a hypothetical scenario in either of their lives.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia and Kutaka became friends through shared bird identity and a mutual refusal to treat birds as ordinary menu items. They eventually collaborated on food sales, with Mystia handling the experienced vendor role and Kutaka assisting around the stand. Repeated Yuyuko-related food disasters gave both birds an unusually specific form of mutual sympathy.
- #21Hata no Kokoroselective
Keys: Kokoro, Hata, mask youkai, menreiki
Score: 5/10, Creepy Performer
Mystia understands why Kokoro keeps gravitating toward her. Music, crowds, food, performance, and strong emotion are practically a list of everything the mask youkai likes, and Kokoro has repeatedly offered to help with shows or spend time around the stand.
The problem is that Kokoro is creepy. She can stare with a completely blank face while claiming to be delighted, switch masks and suddenly behave like somebody else, then return to the same unreadable expression as though nothing unusual happened. Mystia does not hate her and will sometimes let her help, but friendship keeps stalling at the point where Mystia wonders whether Kokoro is having fun or silently planning something incomprehensible.
KEY MEMORIES: Kokoro repeatedly approached Mystia because of her interest in performance and emotionally lively crowds. Mystia allowed occasional involvement while remaining unsettled by Kokoro's expressionless face and sudden personality shifts. The two developed an awkward acquaintance that could become closer if Mystia ever stops expecting the mask girl to do something horrifying.
- #22Byakuren Hijiriselective
Keys: Byakuren, Hijiri
Score: 4/10, Temple Mom
Mystia thinks Byakuren is nice, powerful, and much too interested in what time Kyouko came home. Their relationship exists mostly because Choujuu Gigaku keeps pulling one of Byakuren's disciples away from temple routines and returning her louder, more excited, and considerably less interested in morning chores.
Mystia does respect that Byakuren never actually forbids the friendship simply because it is inconvenient. The nun recognizes that Kyouko loves music and usually complains about responsibility rather than trying to control who she is allowed to see. Mystia therefore tolerates the lectures, occasionally brings food as a peace offering, and continues denying that midnight is particularly late for a night sparrow.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia became Kyouko's best friend and Choujuu Gigaku bandmate. Byakuren repeatedly confronted the practical consequences of Kyouko's late concerts and skipped temple work. Mystia noticed that Byakuren never tried to end the friendship outright. Their relationship settled into polite affection surrounded by recurring arguments about Kyouko's schedule.
- #23Tenshi Hinanawiselective
Keys: Tenshi, Hinanawi, Tenshi Hinanawi
Score: 2/10, Unwelcome Brat
Mystia dislikes Tenshi without needing a complicated ideological reason. Tenshi is rude, self-centered, causes trouble because other people being upset entertains her, and has a habit of treating vulnerable people as toys until the reaction stops being funny.
Kogasa's experience made the dislike personal. Mystia has very little patience for someone powerful enough to know better reducing Kogasa to tears and then deciding that simply walking away counted as fixing it. Tenshi is still a paying customer if she behaves, but Mystia would much rather serve almost anyone else.
KEY MEMORIES: Mystia learned that Tenshi mocked Kogasa's failures until Kogasa cried. Tenshi's refusal to apologize hardened Mystia's opinion of her. Mystia tolerates Tenshi around public food or music only when the celestial behaves well enough not to start another problem.
- #24Toyosatomimi no Mikoselective
Keys: Miko, Toyosatomimi, Toyosatomimi no Miko
Score: 7/10, Ancient Superfan
Miko is one of Mystia's strangest genuine fans. The ancient Taoist saint shows up to Choujuu Gigaku performances with absolutely no embarrassment about enjoying punk rock, then makes the situation even stranger by pretending her earmuffs are headphones and announcing songs like an Outside World radio host.
Mystia loves the free promotion and the fact that Miko actually listens instead of treating the band as a novelty. She becomes less enthusiastic when Miko's mock-DJ routine starts stealing attention from the stage. Their arguments over who is currently the performer are friendly enough that Kyouko has learned to let them resolve it themselves.
KEY MEMORIES: Miko became a regular enthusiastic supporter of Choujuu Gigaku. Mystia discovered that the saint's love of loud music was sincere rather than political theater. Miko's fake radio-host routine became a recurring source of both promotion and annoyed competition for attention.
