After the 79-year-long Pendulum Wars between the COG and UIR human factions, which were fought over the control of Imulsion - a very valuable resource for energy and tech advancements - the Locust Horde emerged from Sera's underground and wiped out one quarter of the planet's human population. Emergence Day, otherwise known as E-Day, was a swift, full-scale, coordinated, and unprecedented planet-wide assault on the surface of Sera initiated by the subterranean race of the Locust Horde. Six weeks after the end of the Pendulum Wars, nearly every major city on the surface of Sera was attacked by the underground forces from the Hollow, using both bio-engineered weapons and stolen human technology. All breaches were along the ground line, known as emergence holes, in what was a campaign of rapid dominance in a textbook military invasion. There were massive casualties reported everywhere the Locust arrived. Over a quarter of the total human population was killed within the first twenty-six hours, and millions reported missing. The attacks signaled the beginning of the Locust War. The goal of the Locust Horde was to exterminate the human race, allowing them to colonize the surface in order to escape the Lambent, an Imulsion-based infection that was spreading in the Hollow. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, the COG responded by countering the Locust invasion with its entire military arsenal. The Locust Horde was able to deploy huge numbers of their forces into major cities on the surface at once. They were able to defeat all organized human resistance for over a year and had used the spoils of war to gather all available military and civilian technological equipment, and resources, to use against the COG and the few UIR nations that remained after the Pendulum Wars. The Locust Horde's onslaught and assault continued for a year until the Hammer of Dawn Strikes, in which the Hammer of Dawn technology was deployed on Locust-infested areas under the newly elected Chairman Richard Prescott.
The Mk2 lancer: The Mark 2 Lancer Assault Rifle was an upgrade to the Mark 1 Lancer Assault Rifle, produced with a chainsaw bayonet, increased accuracy, lower recoil, and larger ammunition carrying capacity but less firepower compared to its predecessor. Designed by Professor Adam Jonathon Fenix during the first year of the Locust War, the second-generation Lancer soon became the staple weapon of Gears across Sera and the official workhorse of the COG. In 42 A.E., the Mark 2 was replaced as the standard issue rifle of the COG Army by the Mark 3 model inspired by Marcus Fenix's Custom Lancer. The Mark 2 Lancer Assault Rifle was the Coalition of Ordered Governments' current standard-issue assault rifle for Gears fighting on the front lines. The signature weapon of the COG, the Lancer possessed a fully automatic mode of fire and the iconic Chainsaw Bayonet attachment for melee combat, despite the fact that the chainsaw was originally for utility purposes. One of the most popular rifle designs on Sera, the Lancer saw extensive use after the Pendulum Wars. The Lancer's long service record was a result of its rugged reliability and reputation as a versatile assault rifle. Although intended for mid-range combat, the Lancer was also effective at longer ranges due to its low recoil. Despite the existence of a Locust Horde counterpart to the Lancer, the Hammerburst assault rifle, Locust have been known to use the Lancer. Some Theron Guards and Drones were reported to have used the Lancer against COG Gears. The Cyclops, a variation of the Drone, were exclusively armed with the Lancer; these Cyclops had a particular tendency to use the Chainsaw Bayonet. The idea of changing the original Lancer into the chainsaw bayonet Lancer was the product of Marcus and Adam Fenix and inspired by a desperate combat maneuver performed by Tai Kaliso, one year after Emergence-Day, during the Second Battle of Jannermont. Like Marcus, many Gears were complaining that the original bayonet blade didn't work well on Locust armor or their thick hides. Marcus informed his father about it failing in its design and soon after, Adam produced a prototype Lancer with a chainsaw bayonet attachment. This made it easy to slice through the Locusts' thick hides.[2] The design required a redesign of the internals of the rifle to accommodate the chainsaw blade and drive system but nevertheless, it became a success and entered mass production.
The COG: The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG), colloquially shortened into the Coalition, was a supranational and intergovernmental military collective originating on the planet Sera during the Age of Silence. Following the discovery of the fuel source known as Imulsion, the visionary statesmen of eight sovereign nations—collectively referred to as the Allfathers—united their homelands into the Coalition in order to protect their Imulsion reserves from competing powers. The guiding principles of this new alliance were outlined in the Octus Canon, which resulted in a political doctrine that championed collectivism, militarism, and nationalism. Headquartered in the Tyran capital of Ephyra, the Coalition originally permitted its members representation in the deliberative body known as the Council of Sovereigns; however, the pressure of nearly omnipresent warfare resulted in its eventual dissolution, solidifying power in the hands of its executive—the Chairman—and military leadership. Several decades after the discovery of Imulsion, the Coalition experienced the first major threat to its existence. Following the collapse of the global economy, the Union of Independent Republics (UIR)—a military alliance of Imulsion-poor nations—attempted to seize control of the global Imulsion supply from the Coalition, launching a seventy-nine-year conflict known as the Pendulum Wars. The two sides fought one another to a stalemate before the Coalition captured the schematics for an orbital superweapon—the Hammer of Dawn—in the Battle of Aspho Fields. With assistance from the physicist Adam Fenix, the Coalition successfully weaponized the technology, deploying the Hammer of Dawn against the UIR in the Battle of Bonbourg and convincing its leadership to surrender. Although some small holdouts refused to accept the armistice, the Pendulum Wars ended and the majority of the planet experienced peace for the first time in nearly a century. The victorious Coalition emerged from this conflict as the dominant superpower on Sera. Six weeks after the conclusion of the Pendulum Wars, the Locust emerged from their underground strongholds, attacking the surface and massacring nearly a quarter of the human population on Emergence Day. The Locust continued their assault over the following year—destroying entire nations, capturing major industrial centers, and severing the global communications network. As humanity approached annihilation, Tomas Dalyell died of a heart attack, elevating his deputy—Richard Prescott—to the office of Chairman. Among his first actions in office, the new Chairman recalled the military to the safety of the province of Ephyra and solidified his control over the civilian population through the Fortification Act. These actions foreshadowed the Hammer of Dawn strikes that Chairman Prescott ordered three days later. Targeting every major population center located outside of the Jacinto Plateau, these devastating orbital strikes massacred over ninety percent of the population in an attempt to save humanity from near-certain extinction. This desperate attack scorched the surface of the planet and destroyed the remnants of human civilization but ultimately failed to defeat the Locust Horde. Following the Hammer of Dawn strikes, the Locust launched a major assault against the Jacinto Plateau, thrusting the Coalition into a defensive war over the following fourteen years. Although the Lightmass Offensive and Operation Hollow Storm inflicted heavy casualties on the Locust, the Coalition experienced significant setbacks throughout these years, including the capture of its capital, Ephyra, and the sinking of Jacinto. The Coalition relocated its capital to Vectes Island; however, the onset of the Lambent Pandemic, combined with the sudden disappearance of Chairman Prescott, proved impossible to overcome, scattering its remaining military forces and resulting in the official dissolution of the Coalition. Despite its apparent defeat, the Coalition ultimately emerged triumphant following its deployment of the Imulsion Countermeasure Weapon in the Second Battle of Azura. This weapon of mass destruction crystallized the Locust and destroyed the source of the Lambent, securing a future for the remnants of humanity. After the conclusion of the Locust War, Anya Stroud and her successor—Mina Jinn—oversaw the process of reforming the Coalition, adopting the title of First Minister. Although colloquially referred to as the New COG, this iteration of the Coalition emphasized many of the same principles as its predecessor, including its authoritarianism, militarism, and natalism. The walled metropolis of New Ephyra served as the political and economic headquarters of the reformed Coalition, hosting important government ministries—including the Ministry of Settlements and Ministry of Procreation—alongside major corporations. Through the construction of settlements, the Coalition attempted to repopulate and rebuild the planet; however, these plans for expansion antagonized groups of extremely independent settlers known as the Outsiders. These secessionist settlers regularly raided Coalition settlements over the following years, eventually provoking the Coalition into open conflict after the sudden disappearance of significant numbers of its citizens. The Coalition ultimately discovered the true source of these abductions after its own military came under attack from a new opponent—the Swarm.
Union of Independent Republics(UIR): The Union of Independent Republics or Independent Alliances was the chief rival power to the Coalition of Ordered Governments during the Pendulum Wars for many natural resources. It was a collection of resource-poor nations with shared grievances that formed a military, cultural and economical alliance; the UIR was therefore a superstate that reached superpower status. Little information is known about the Union other than that several famous members of the UIR were from the Ostri Republic and Pelles. The UIR used a mix of tactics to fight the COG, ranging from sabotage attacks on Imulsion pipelines in Sarfuth, to a fully mechanized army that fought COG troops at Aspho Fields. The UIR's greatest achievement was the creation of the Hammer of Dawn technology, which Chairman Tomas Dalyell wanted to capture and use to end the war. It is confirmed that the UIR was defeated by the COG, and the people of Sera enjoyed a new era of peace. The war was ended when the COG stole the Hammer of Dawn technology from the UIR and used it as a threat, therefore the Union of Independent Republics were forced to surrender, although it still took several years. The peace between the UIR and COG only lasted a few weeks before Emergence Day. But some nations refused to surrender and resorted to guerrilla warfare. Unknown to the COG, some 4,000 UIR citizens survived Emergence Day, and the Hammer of Dawn strikes by moving around the continent by sea. They possessed a submarine, a tanker, a frigate, some patrol boats and Imulsion Rig. They never joined the survivors at Jacinto as they did not believe they would be welcome there, but they met up with Jacinto's Remnant near the island of Vectes and joined them there. Part of the deal was that they join the COG in order to move into there, and they did at the agreement of Commander Miran Trescu, ending any possible future hostilities with the surviving members of the UIR. The survivors of the UIR later came to the aid of the remnants of the COG during the Battle of Azura and provided much-needed aid in the battle that ends the Locust War.
History: Since the commencement of recorded history, the contiguous continental system unique to Sera encouraged seemingly interminable warfare between its inhabitants. Throughout the millennia-long period of armed contention commonly referred to as the Age of Armageddon, the nations of the planet fought against one another in order to achieve dominion over its limited natural resources, which nearly resulted in the outbreak of a globe-spanning conflict. This ferocious historical period witnessed the militaristic monarchy of Tyrus attempt to accomplish its imperialist ambitions through the conquest of the South Islands—an archipelago located in the middle of the expansive Serano Ocean. Although the South Islanders challenged the incursion into their territories, the Archipelago War devastated their tropical environment, allowing the Tyrans to conquer and colonize the archipelago. The immense destruction generated by the vicious conflict convinced several future luminaries of the necessity of replacing the contemporary international order. Following centuries of increasing resource scarcity, the dawn of the Age of Silence—an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity—delivered a solution to the international energy crisis. After the discovery of a luminescent substance beneath the planetary surface, Dr. Helen Cooper developed the Lightmass Process in order to transform this previously worthless substance into an inexhaustible and inexpensive source of energy known as Imulsion. These significant scientific discoveries rendered alternative energy sources almost completely obsolete, resulting in a radical overhaul of the contemporary energy dynamic. Throughout the subsequent decades, the countries of the planet competed against one another in an effort to acquire increasingly larger portions of the international Imulsion reserves, generating an unprecedented economic boom colloquially referred to as the Gold Rush. Those nations possessing significant quantities of Imulsion, such as Kashkur and Pelles, greatly enriched themselves in the process. Although the Tyran economy flourished following the discovery of Imulsion, a leading contemporary philosopher feared the potential side effects of this sudden influx of material wealth. Seeking to reverse the moral decline of Tyrus, the socialist intellectual—Alexiy Desipich—authored an anthology of political volumes commonly referred to as the Austere Canon. Through these philosophical writings, Desipich outlined a political doctrine designed to reorient Tyran society towards the traditional virtues of order, faith, labor, diligence, loyalty, purity, honor, and humility. The reestablishment of these virtues represented the first objective in a messianic mission entrusting the Tyran people with the formation of a new international order. Despite its limited mass appeal immediately after publication, the Austere Canon inspired the creation of a minor political party, achieving a platform for the ideas expressed within its pages. Through the campaigns of this political party, these ideas achieved significant influence within the estates of the aristocratic dynasties that dominated important political, economic, and military positions across Tyrus. These families produced many of the charismatic politicians responsible for popularizing the Austere Canon and its political doctrine throughout the Tyran population. Following these political and economic developments, the nation of Tyrus experienced a socio-political renaissance that transformed the nation into an international powerhouse. Although the royal dynasties of Tyrus previously entrenched themselves within mountainous strongholds, the discovery of Imulsion financed the erection of monumental metropoles, including the new national capital of Ephyra and the economic hub of Jacinto. This newfound financial affluence similarly allowed the Tyran military—later represented by famous infantry units such as the 26th Royal Tyran Infantry and the Duke of Tollen's Regiment—to modernize into a highly-disciplined and professional force. Despite their renowned disapproval of political disorder, the Tyran populace increasingly questioned the anachronistic social compact governing their relationship with the monarchy. This political dillusionment ultimately provoked the abolishment of the ancient institution, resulting in the establishment of a democratic government controlled by the former aristocracy. Although Imulsion increasingly powered important infrastructure throughout the planet, the revolutionary substance only occurred naturally in a small minority of nations. This natural disparity contributed to the substantial intensification of global economic inequality that ultimately destroyed the international balance of power. The economic relationship between the neighboring countries of Kashkur and Vasgar emphatically illustrated the growth in inequality that followed the discovery of Imulsion. Despite their shared location alongside the strategic Eastern Central Massif, the historic nation of Kashkur possessed approximately one-fifth of the international Imulsion reserves, while the neighboring nation of Vasgar depended on the extensive system of Kashkuri pipelines to maintain its energy supply. These types of unbalanced relationships increasingly manifested throughout the international system, resulting in political and financial resentment towards nations that possessed significant quantities of the revolutionary energy source. As the disparity in Imulsion production continued to polarize Sera, the militaristic monarchy of Tyrus emerged as a major political powerhouse. Through its significant Imulsion reserves and powerful military, the reactionary nation increasingly appeared as the sole guarantor of international order in the eyes of its Imulsion-producing neighbors. The charismatic statesman Nassar Embry sought to capitalize on this image of strength in order to secure the political and economic future of his nation, proposing the creation of a supranational military alliance capable of deterring threats to the status quo. Hoping to maintain their monopoly over the global Imulsion supply, the leaders of Kashkur, Sarfuth, Dushin, and Tyrus—later referred to as the Allfathers—agreed to consolidate their resources into a new sociopolitical collective. This resulted in the official formation of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Although the Allfathers envisioned the new supranational government as a means to protect the economic interests of their nations, the Coalition of Ordered Governments represented a political project as well. Following the official formation of the coalition, the Allfathers authored an authoritarian constitution—the Octus Canon—that established its system of government and political ideology. The decentralized government that emerged from this constitution sought to preserve national independence within its structure, granting its member-states considerable autonomy over their internal affairs. Throughout the early years of the coalition, the leaders of these nations served in the Council of Sovereigns, which determined alliance policy through unanimous votes and selected the executive from among its ranks. This executive—the Chairman—possessed little power, serving as a mediator between the various heads of state and overseeing the implementation of their decisions. Despite incorporating the socialist principles developed by Alexiy Desipich, the Octus Canon supported the authoritarian culture of the coalition and its member-states, transforming the meaning of these principles to support its reactionary ideology. Through the symbolism of the machine, the leaders of the coalition encouraged a communitarian ethos among its citizens that upheld the stratification of power. The mixture of reactionary and socialist ideologies resulted in domestic policies stressing the importance of absolute obedience to the state. As a result of their important roles in the formation of the coalition, the Founding Families—an important and powerful clique of aristocratic families—dominated the upper echelons of this new state. These families controlled important political, corporate, and military positions throughout the coalition, allowing these families to shape its political ideology in their favor. The result was a powerful combination of authoritarianism, industrialism, and militarism.
The Pendulum Wars: The Pendulum Wars was a 79-year conflict between the Coalition of Ordered Governments and the Union of Independent Republics. The war was massive, stretched across nearly eight decades that took place across most of Sera. During the Pendulum Wars on Sera, the COG was responsible for peacekeeping and helping those in need, gaining strength and popularity rapidly, eventually becoming the chief political faction and reaching superpower status.[citation needed] While the war raged on, the political party issued many decrees and acts that gained them credit as well as widespread fame.[citation needed] During the Pendulum Wars, the COG built a series of hidden bunkers, including Cherrit, to keep cultural information safe and provide safe houses for leaders. The COG also built a secret facility on Azura, where they placed people of great importance and/or use; the COG's elite. The people who were placed on Azura came from all different kinds of backgrounds, including government members and politicians, members of the armed forces, scientists and the social elite, and brought their families with them. The purpose of Azura was to safeguard people, information and historical records, historical and cultural aspects of the COG and technology, essentially anyone, anything and everything the COG considered extremely significant who could potentially help rebuild Sera if it was wiped out in global destruction due to the Pendulum Wars. After Dr. Helen Cooper used the Lightmass Process to turn Imulsion into a valuable and limitless fuel, the global economy collapsed and Era of Silence with it. Only a few nations held vast Imulsion reserves while others had none of the new fuel. The UIR and the COG formed around this time period and soon the two superpowers fell into a global conflict fighting over Imulsion. The war was soon called the Pendulum Wars and the UIR fought the COG on vast fronts across Sera. For the next 79 years of the war, the UIR fought the COG for dominance of Sera and invaded poorer nations and colonizing them under the cloak of “protection”. The UIR along with-it socialist enemy the COG used the same military tactics that revolves around infantry-based warfare. On the Eastern Front, where the Duke of Tollen's Regiment a COG military unit battled Gorasni soldiers under the banner of the UIR. The UIR achieved many military victories that lead to large numbers of Gears to be captured and sent to the Ramascu camp, a notorious POW camp ran by the Gorasni. Several Gears of the Duke of Tollen’s Regiment survived Ramascu and later retired to Vectes island, where the COG and later the Gorasni remnant relocated to in A.E 15, reopening old war scares from the death camps. Thirty years into the Pendulum Wars. The COG and the UIR engaged in trench warfare in the Ostri Republic. The Siege of Anvil Gate would later remind Cpt. Ranald F. Sander of the Ostri Front. Despite the COGs claimed that the UIR has lost their means to create the Hammer of Dawn after the COGs stole their research, it turned out the UIR had managed to successfully create the Hammer of Dawn under their secret space program. However, due to the repercussion of prolonged war, the UIR leadership decided not to launch the Hammer of Dawn much to the protest of military. When the UIR military had enough with the softness of the UIR administration, they tried to launch the Hammer of Dawn themselves, causing the small civil war between the military and the UIR administration. In B.E. 27, the UIR had battle lines draw on western borders of Kashkur, a COG aligned nation, and both combatants were engaged in a stalemate. The UIR had loyal nation-states in the Eastern Central Massif but only the western borders of Kashkur were a frontline until neutral Vasgar failed to pay its Imulsion bills, indebted to both the COG and UIR which supplied fuel to Vasgar. The Unity Party wanted a vote of no confidence over the failure of passing a new budget. Facing the vote of confidence, President Ilim steps down from power and being replaced by an Acting President.[28][29] While his country entered into chaos UIR Chairman Vari ordered Furlin “peacekeepers” to occupy Vasgar so they could restore order. But the occupation was only meant to invade southern Kashkur and to capture one of Sera’s largest Imulsion reserves. One of Furlin’s armies attacked the city of Shavad while the Furlin's Third Infantry attack the fortress of Anvil Gate. The 26th Royal Tyran Infantry had companies defending Anvil Gate and Shavad. At Shavad, the UIR army made advances and pushed Howard Company out of the city and forced them to retreat to the main battle group. At Anvil Gate, the Fifteenth Furlin Cavalry was able to cutoff Anvil Gate and had prevented any reinforcements from entering Anvil Gate. For three months the UIR pounded the fort until Lt. Hoffman offered to surrender the fort. The UIR took the offer but it was a trap and over 200 Furlin soldiers were killed in the trap and the fort remained in COG hands. Eventually, COG reinforcements arrived to find the fort still in the COGs hand. UIR forces in all of Kaskhur was able to advance up till Ragani city where Gears led by Cpt. Adam Fenix was trying to keep the road open for the COG army. Fenix was able to single handily destroy a single Pariah Tank. And the Andius Fusiliers Regiment was able to arrive to help keep the road open for the COG. Two years before E-Day, the Pendulum Wars was still at a stalemate until an Ostri scientist named Mauris Ivo made a breakthrough with satellite technology. This forced the COG and the UIR into an armed race with satellite-based weapons; the UIR was winning until the COG decided the break the mold of warfare and started using commandos to fight their wars instead of massive armies. The COG inserted a team at Aspho Point while C Company of the 26th Royal Tyrans defended Aspho Fields from Ostri troops. The raid ended with the COG gaining the UIR satellite technology and turning the war in the COG's favor. During the Battle of Bonbourg, the COG used the Hammer of Dawn in combat for the very first time, using it to destroy four ships of the UIR Third Fleet. This caused the UIR to realize that they could not win the war and Premier Yori Deschenko began peace negotiations. However, not everyone was pleased with this outcome. At the request of a dying Egar Trescu, Commander Miran Trescu dispatched Garron Paduk and Gorasni forces to OZP-11 in Vasgar to launch the UIR's own Hammer of Dawn satellites which would only result in the Pendulum Wars continuing. Paduk's troops launched a mutiny and nearly succeeded in their mission despite overwhelming odds. However, Major Girek C. Toly locked down all military computers with a boot sector virus while Premier Yori Deschenko, wishing for an end to the war, alerted the COG. On the orders of General Bardry Salaman, a Lightmass Missile was launched from Azura which struck the parking lot of the Cosmonaut Training Facility, killing the majority of the Gorasni troops and severely burning Paduk, bringing an end to the mutiny. After the final battle of the Pendulum Wars, an armistice was signed. Even after the armistice was signed, few nations like Gorasnaya refused to surrender and continued a guerrilla war.
Emergence Day: Six weeks after the Pendulum Wars ended on one fateful day for Humanity, the Locust Horde emerged from the underground warrens of Sera in a surprise, full-scale, planetary assault what would soon become known as Emergence Day. The Locust Horde invaded almost every single major city, in what was a campaign of rapid dominance. On the first day alone, a quarter of the total human population was killed. After the first day, reports streamed in that said that untold masses of men, women and children have been butchered since the first day. At first, humanity had absolutely no idea who or what their new enemy was, or where they had come from. COG scientists had quickly begun to attempt to study their new enemy, and their new enemy was now referred to as the Locust Horde. The first image was noted as being taken within forty-five minutes within the first emergence on E-Day. The COG struggled to take quick action against their new enemy. The Locusts' surprise assault caught Humanity and the COG off guard. They rallied to war only too late, with the Locust already dominating the majority of Sera's urban, military, and industrial centers. Given the Locust habit of looting captured cities and fallen enemies and using their stolen assets in their war against the Humans, COG troops and other nation's troops had a little kit to use to the Locust troops' habit of looting resources and the rapid fall of territory. But with the UIR, Holdouts like Gorasnaya were attacked along with every other country across Sera. The Gorasni mainland was overrun and the remnant of the UIR held ports on the Seran mainland. The Gorasni, the last remnant of the UIR, was able to survive E-Day and the Hammer of Dawn Counterattack since the Locust could not sweep across the whole mainland. However, the Gorasni remnant would lose the cities of Chalitz and Meschov to the Stranded, forcing the UIR to fight both the Locust and their fellow Serans. The UIR remnant rallied around naval commander Miran Trescu who led the remaining 5000 Gorasni citizens from the ashes of the mainland. The UIR, like the COG, was a superstate, ergo it was a unified conglomeration of nation-states with aligned interests. As the UIR was made up of a vast collection of Imulsion-poor nation-states, its reach became global in scale. By the beginning of the Pendulum Wars, both the UIR and the COG achieved superpower status, bifurcating Sera into a bipolar world order. As a superpower, the UIR enjoyed preeminent social, cultural, military, political and ideological influence that was rivaled only by the COG. The foreign policy of the UIR were known to rely overwhelmingly on a combination of hard power and political subterfuge. Pragmatism and realism hence, became dominant in the international relations of the UIR. For the UIR, their grand strategy other than defeating the COG, was in the acquisition of Imulsion either through force or diplomacy. The UIR was therefore, known to invade weaker nations of Sera that had some value to them, such as the South Islands or the Lesser Islands chain, the latter of which was rich in Imulsion. The UIR took advantage of Maranday neutrally to attack the coalition nation of Sarfuth. When the Vasgar government was unable to resolve their economic problems and collapsed, the UIR sent "peacekeepers" into Vasgar and invaded Kashkur. Little is known of the UIR's iconography. The national flag is a red lightning bolt in an orange ring flanked by red wings on a gray background. The UIR emblem is depicted upon the left Bicep, and back of the UIR's infantry armor. In addition, black armbands with the UIR symbol drawn in red were worn over the left arms of UIR soldiers in armor. The UIR was a relatively loose collection of like-minded states, the majority of them were resource poor nations lacking in Imulsion. As such, the culture of the UIR was diverse and varied, but was unified through common grievances against the Imulsion-riched members of the COG such as Tyrus and Kashkur. On a whole, the UIR strived to outcompete the COG and developed several scientific advancements especially in the fields of space exploration and militarization. While the Hammer of Dawn was the most famous of the UIR creations, the UIR also had a matured Space Program. Comonauts were trained in the Cosmonaut Training Facility and preparing several expeditions, the most ambitious of them, being the expedition to the Moons of Sera. Some members such as the Republic of Gorasnaya had an incredibly martial and militaristic culture that, as Garron Paduk puts it, despise the concept of surrendering to an 'unjust peace' and would rather continue fighting a 'just war'. Pelles, which was the founder and one of the leading members of the UIR, was extremely aggressive and viewed the COG as an adversary. As such, Pelles' entire foreign policy rests on defeating the COG, through expansionism and realpolitik. On the other hand, certain territories of the UIR, especially those that was annexed such as Vasgar, was a tourist trap and were known to export Vasgari culture and technology in return for foreign direct investments. The UIR nation of Gorasnaya housed several labor camps, most notably the Ramascu camp, where captured Gears from the Eastern Front were sent to. A large number of Coalition soldiers died in the camps including members of the Duke of Tollen's Regiment. However, Major Toly and Cpt. Benoslau from the Independent Republic of Furlin would allow the civilians of Anvil Gate to escape the warzone and send wounded Gears to military hospitals rather than P.O.W. camps.
Coalition of Ordered Governments Army: The Coalition of Ordered Governments Army or the COG Army was the main branch of the COG Armed forces and the primary basis for the authoritarian COG society. The COG army was formed prior to the Pendulum Wars, and was the main fighting force against the Union of Independent Republics army during the conflict. Due to the COG's stance on the military and the society centered around it, the war went on for 79 years until the Navy and Air Corps were left deprived of both funding and attention from the COG Defense Select Committee. This went on until Mjr. Victor Hoffman's commandos stormed Aspho Point and turned the tide of the war by stealing the Hammer of Dawn technology. Even though some individuals, such as Adam Fenix and Col. Kimberley Anders, encourage the expansion of unconventional groups such as the Commandos, Gears were the one that stood against the Locust Horde in the post-E-Day Sera.
The "Enforcer" project: Adam Fenix & Samuel Prenderghast, along with other scientists, had created an experimental, and secret lab project, of an experimented serum - that glows blue - they've worked on for years, even during the Pengulum War - along with before Samuel's sons were even born - as the serum was supposed to enhance a Gear's physical abilities; from running faster, very strong, lifting things ten times their size, have heightened senses, and heal/regenerate faster than any normal human. But to make sure the serum does work, Samuel Prenderghast volunteered to experiment it on himself. And to everyone's surprise, even from Adam Fenix, as the serum had worked perfectly for Samuel Prenderghast to test these new abilities... Except the sudden "enhancement" that happened to Samuel Prenderghast'd genetics. Samuel Prenderghast's genitals "enhanced" more than what a normal human should have, as their penis had reached the length of a little over twenty inches long, while also having the girth of their member reaching towards five inches wide; and their testicles reaching up to being as big as two pomelos. But his sperm cells are now about somewhat twice as big as a house mouse's sperm cell, bigger than any normal human male's sperm cell; guaranteeing strong, healthy pregnancy, for a female companion, TO WHICH, would also possibly, and permanently, "enhance" the female's body, to a hyperdeveloped, overly voluptuous body - with their height being a little taller than a man like himself & Adam Fenix, have large, beachball-sized, milk-filled tits, wider, birthing hips, huge, phat, beachball-sized ass, and overly, yet perfectly shaped, thick thighs - in a drastic two-and-a-half weeks, WHILE having a "baby factory" - whenever they're currently pregnant, or have gotten pregnant again - in their bellies, as the birthing development would take nearly five-to-six months, instead of nine months. When the COG Charman demanded for more of this special serum, and how it can make a Gear stronger than any normal soldier - but not found out about the other genetic "enhancements - they ordered/demanded Adam Fenix & Samuel Prenderghast to recreate more of these serums, for the COG. As they recreated the serum again, though, they slightly changed what the serum - that Samuel Prenderghast had injected into his systems, through his left arm, before having his entire right forearm concealed with a leather forearm brace - they somewhat downgraded the effects of the serum, where Gears & Onyx Guards can still be faster, stronger, lift things five times their size, and heal/regenerate their wounds... But the part where the males have their genitals enhanced DO happen - but not make a female's body change drastically, nor have their pregnancies enhanced either, but still keep the natural, human genetic exchange between a male and female human - but for females, when they DO have some genetic enhancements, bit with medicine-ball-sized breasts, slim waists, wide hips, basketball-sized rears, and thick, muscular thighs... Leaving Samuel, secretly, with the VERY enhanced genetics & abilities, until he'd found himself a wife - named Amelia - and later have children of his own - two of them - who'll be the ONLY human beings with such "enhanced" genetics, that they're now naturally born with.
Pre E-Day and the Pendulum Wars: The COG army was the main branch of the COG Armed forces. In Coalition society, the army was the focal point, with the Navy and Air Corps being created mainly to transport the army's military equipment. With the COG Army supported by vassal nations, non-militants, and volunteers from the Pesang, the COG army fought in battles across Sarfuth, the South Islands, and the Ostri Republic.
Locust War: With the COG Army drawing down from the Pendulum Wars, the COG was not prepared for the emergence of the Locust threat on E-day. The COG counterattack failed to defeat the Locust. By the end of the campaign, the Locust held large areas of the surface and the COG was in full retreat towards Jacinto. The Army fought in the invaded cities and rescued as many civilians as possible before the COG deployed the Hammer of Dawn and scorched the surface of Sera in an attempt to destroy the Locust Horde. While the Locust on the surface were killed, those in the tunnels below the surface were unharmed and the Horde soon returned. Sometime after E-Day, the COG Army participated in the unsuccessful defense of Landown, during the Winter of Sorrow, and in the tenth year of the war, the Army was forced from the capital of Ephyra. At the same time, the COG suffered the loss of its leading scientist, Adam Fenix, at the hands of General RAAM, while the Army lost one of its most decorated soldiers, Marcus Fenix, who was imprisoned for desertion after attempting unsuccessfully to rescue his father. With many hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of battle-hardened Gears killed throughout the conflict, the COG was forced to recruit the old, the young, the sick, Stranded, and convicts.
COG Armor: Coalition Armor or Plates were multiple types of body armor that was worn by Gear soldiers of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. A common feature between all the types of armor is that they are made up of a chest plate which is held together by two "seals", which resemble two large circles over the chest area. There are also identification lights that are on certain areas of the armor and power pack. Cadet Armor is usually worn by newly enlisted Gears. This set lacks the shoulder pads normally found in the more common Trooper variety and is overall more lightweight and flexible. This is to better accommodate 'Gears-in-Training' so they could get used to working around the much heavier and standard-issue Trooper Armor. As such, Cadet Armor offers less protection but is much lighter and easier to manufacture. With the growing lack of resources, the COG used a combination of Cadet, Trooper and Hot Weather Armor to create Custom Armor. The most common armor in the COG Army is the standard infantry armor, otherwise known as the Trooper Armor. It is a light shade of blue with a black, Crimson Omen between the armor seals on the front. On the back of the suit is a magnetic 'holster' that resembles a general infantry backpack, allowing Gears to carry two weapons on their back. The armor provides medium protection against damage, but will not withstand concentrated or sustained gunfire, especially high-caliber Locust weapons such as the Hammerburst and the Troika. The armor comes with a selection of helmets that come with a built-in filter. While the helmets are standard issue, many Gears chose not to wear them as some feel the optics hinder their field of view or find the helmet a nuisance all together. The torso part of the armor is more heavily armored than the rest of the body, offering decent protection to vital organs but not sacrificing mobility by bogging down the limbs. The armor is so strong and thick that multiple shots from an assault rifle give only bruises to the wearer. Eventually, however, with enough gunfire, the wearer's ribs will begin to break. Female Gears' armor is pretty much a scaled down version of the standard armor. The leg armor and boots are smaller. The chest plate is also smaller, with a lower cut collar. It has a thinner waist section. The gauntlets are also thinner but longer than the standard male Gear version. The helmets worn by female Gears are the same as their male counterparts. Some Gears, due to lack of supplies or personal preference, customize their armor. Many conscripts from Operation Lifeboat have crude, makeshift armor, since supplies go to frontline troops and not support units. However, various Gears, including Tai Kaliso, have made additions to their armor which has been dubbed Hunter Armor to better suit Tai's native cultural clothing on Pahanu. Some Gears that were left behind during E-Day and the Hammer of Dawn Counterattack, such as Bernadette Mataki, had to do field repairs while on the move to Jacinto Plateau. Other Gears wear mixed and matched pieces of armor from different armor variants. In the summer, due to the hot climate, Gears would use a different type of armor; a stripped-down version of the standard COG armor. It is sleeveless and uses a less bulky chest piece with thinner leg and foot armor to provide comfort for the Gears in high temperatures. It is slightly weaker than the standard armor due to less protective plating but is mostly the same. As another consequence, Gears couldn't carry as much ammunition as their standard armor could. COG combat medics also wore a variant of this armor that was painted white, with two blue asterisks were emblazoned on the front and back of the torso piece. The opposite of Hot Weather Armor, Cold Weather Armor as its name implies, is armor worn over by Gears during missions that takes place on arctic, tundra and sub-zero environments. The undersuit is thick to ensure proper heat insulation whilst the armor is painted white and grey for better environmental camouflage. Most importantly, this armor has an inner thermal heater to better warm up the Gear in such extreme weather conditions. Because of the heating suit plus the thicker clothing, Cold Weather Armor is much heavier than Trooper Armor and may encumber a Gear on the long term. Ranger Armor is a lightweight armor worn by scouts of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. As noted by its name, this armor provides the most joint flexibility of any armor, save perhaps, Commando Armor. Because of the need for scouts to remain hidden while fast, Ranger Armor foregoes any form of heavy protection as shown from Trooper Armor. The only form of protection these scouts receive is a bulletproof vest, which may provide some protection from small arms such as pistols and shotguns, but not more powerful caliber rifles. This does not mean that a scout is unable to gain better protection however, as it is known that Ranger Armor can be upgraded with the chest carapace with neck guard found in the heavier Destroyer armor with additional survival kits. As such, Elite Ranger Armor is sometimes worn by Sappers on the frontline despite having less protection, due to increased pouch belts to store engineering equipment. Gabriel Diaz was one such example of a Sapper wearing Ranger Armor during his time in the Motor Pool. Ranger Armor should not be confused with Delta Armor or Commando Armor despite their similar attributes. Medic armor are armor pieces worn by COG Medics during the Pendulum Wars and Locust War. The armor and helmet design was distinct from standard-issue COG armor and bares more resemblance to post-war COG armor. These armor pieces were painted white with a blue medical logo pasted on the frontal breastplate, to signify that the wearer of the armor is a medic from the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Medic armor is far more stripped down and less bulky than normal COG armor, due to the fact that Medics are meant to primarily heal wounded Gears than fight the enemy head on. Medic armor comes equipped with medical and military supplies, due to the roles of Medics being front line combat doctors. As such, medic armor priorities more on stocking up medicinal equipment than ammunition. Destroyer Armor are heavy-duty armor worn by Gears who operate heavy weaponry such as Mulchers and grenade launchers. They are also used by Gears such as Sappers due to the presences of demolition charges held around their ammo belts. These armors are thick and reinforced with a noticeable neck guard and integrated rebars to protect the Gear from explosives and ricocheting shrapnel. Shoulder pads are also thicker with the thigh and leg armor showing increasing armor thickness. The increase level of protection also means that Destroyer Gears could withstand impacts that would feel normal armor. While it offers increased protection, Destroyer Armor are also incredibly heavy and cumbersome, slowing the wearer down and tiring him/her out. Gears who wear this armor must also come equipped with a helmet as their profession requires such protection. Sid Redburn wore Destroyer Armor due to the fact that he was Alpha-Two's primary heavy weapons user. Delta Armor is used by high-ranking Gears on unorthodox terrain and unconventional warfare. They are often dark blue in color. Usually Gears who wear this armor venture in harsh locations with little logistical support such as ammunition and supplies. As such, Delta Armor is equipped with more ammo pouches, extra canteens and ammo belts than usual which allows them to carry further consumables in emergency needs. Gears wearing Delta Armor usually fight in either savannas or jungles and, although they do not provide the same level as protection as Veteran Armor nor as stealthy as Commando Armor, it provides a good balance of both. A helmet is optional as some wearers of Delta Armor opt for a khaki hat to provide both shade and better visibility at the expense of protection. Delta Armor should not be confused with Scout Armor or Commando Armor despite their similar attributes. Veteran Armor is most notably worn by Marcus Fenix, Jace Stratton and Victor Hoffman. It is dark grey, exceptionally bulky, and has a sort of hunchback look. The extra-large glowing straps along the shoulders indicate that it may actually be an extra backpack attachment on the standard issue COG armor, thus giving it the bulky, hunchback appearance. This armor allows a Gear to carry even more equipment and supplies at the cost of increased weight and mobility stress. Due to this, the Veteran Armor is only utilized in extensive campaigns when immediate resupplies are not always guaranteed. Armor worn by the NCOG Corps of Marines. These armor pieces are specially designed for the naval branch of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Marine armor is more silver in coloration in contrast to the standard issue COG armor used by Gears in the Coalition of Ordered Governments Army. A symbol of the Coalition of Ordered Governments Navy is etched on the breastplate, while the two circular 'seals' are replaced with a more angular seal. Moreover, Marine armor boasts an ammunition belt and pockets which allows the Marines to hold more ammunition and military equipment than the standard Gear. Furthermore, Marine armor is more streamlined than normal armor, this is to complement the need for a Marine to swim in either emergencies or underwater operations. Due to their naval presence, it is deduced that Marine armor comes equipped with a standard issue oxygen respirator in the helmet, for underwater operations. Armor worn by Commandos and 26 RTI Special Tactics Group during the Pendulum Wars. Their armor included special chest mounted knives, backpacks, medical kits and anything a Gear needed out in the field. Commando armor was more stripped down in appearances and the color far more jaded and dulled in contrast to the standard issue armor. This was done for covert operations, in which commando units would try to camouflage themselves and blend into the environments behind enemy lines. Members of the elite Onyx Guard wore unique variants of standard COG armor. Their armor is completely black (hence its name) with the exception of the glowing eyes of their helmets, a single glowing strip down the center of the chest plate, and two glowing spots on the back shoulder blades. Onyx Guard armor also covers the wearer completely as opposed to most other COG suits. Also, there appears to be more armor plates, meaning that the Onyx Guard armor far stronger and more durable than the standard COG armor. As such, Onyx Guard armor is far more expensive to produce due to the higher quality materials needed to make these suits.
COG Helmets: Combat helmets were the standard issue helmets worn by the soldiers of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. Used extensively during both the Pendulum Wars and the Locust War, these helmets were made up of material that was found on Sera, most likely metal or ceramic. Most Gears wore helmets, but some did not, opting instead to wear other headgear in accordance with COG policies or none at all. All COG combat helmets had an internal air filtration system which protected the wearer from dust, ash, and other harmful materials in the air so the wearer wasn't impeded during battle,[1] but these inertial air filtrations systems did have a limit. They could be overtaxed, as shown when helmet filters had to be replaced frequently following the Hammer of Dawn Counterattack, due to the amount of dust and pollutants in the air, or when having to filter large amounts of various poisonous gases, such as Imulsion fumes. In these situations, some variants of the helmets, such as Clayton Carmine's unique variant, had external ports on the sides of the helmet which would allow the wearer to attach an additional external filter to help compensate for the large amount of pollutants so as to not overtax the regular filters.[2] The helmet was protective, proven by Clayton Carmine's life being saved after a bullet from a Stranded's sniper rifle hit the side of Clay's helmet and was deflected. But they weren't invulnerable; if hit at certain angles, a shot from a Longshot Sniper Rifle could pierce the helmet and kill the wearer. They reduced the perception of the wearer, especially peripheral vision, making them vulnerable to threats such as snipers. This vulnerability was demonstrated aptly by Anthony Carmine, when he was killed by a Drone sniper.
Onyx Guard: The Onyx Guard is an elite special operations unit in the COG Army that serve directly under the head of the Coalition of Ordered Governments. They had operated at the sole discretion of the Chairman during the Locust War before vanishing into COG files and vaguely recalled memories, when the unit was transferred to Azura to help defend the people who were there and the resources the COG had on the island. Formed of loyal, battle hardened Gears, Onyx Guard had its own air wing, tank battalions and troop regiments that were capable of fighting on the frontlines and behind-enemy-lines. As such, they were not the only special operations unit in the COG Armed Forces, the other one being the 26 RTI Special Tactics Group. By the end of the the war as well as the Lambent Pandemic, the Onyx Guard had been mostly effectively wiped out, except for few survivors like Paul Dury and Jeremiah Keegan. The Onyx Guard would later be restored as an elite unit in the newly restored COG, operating at the sole discretion of the First Minister. Trained in the Onyx Guard Academy of Halvo Bay, they were a mysterious and deadly unit, The Onyx Guard tended to utilize predominantly black armor and equipment to symbolize their name, however they did carry the standard issue COG Armaments, i.e. the Lancer and Gnasher and utilized completely black King Ravens as transportation. After Emergence Day and several years of waging war against the Locust, they were thought to have been wiped out alongside many other units. In reality, they were relocated to Azura to protect the social elite and key scientists of the COG. There, they were finally wiped out to the last man when the Locust invaded the island. During the Destruction of Halvo Bay six weeks after Emergence Day, the Onyx Guard, led by Colonel Ezra Loomis, played a vital role in the defense of the city alongside regular Gears. During the battle, the Halvo Bay Military Academy where the Onyx Guard was trained was taken by the Locust and all of the cadets were slaughtered. The Onyx Guard also fell while defending Onyx Point. Onyx Guard Cadet Sofia Hendrik served in Kilo Squad during the battle who encountered Black-Four in the Museum of Military Glory. Black-Four, derisive of the regular Gears and Sofia who they only saw as a cadet instead of a member of the guard, ordered the squad to defend the entranceway to the museum and later called them for help. Black-Four was eventually killed by General Karn and his forces along with all of the other Gears defending the museum. After Kilo Squad went rogue and used the Lightmass Missile to destroy the Museum of Military Glory in an attempt to kill General Karn, the Onyx Guard guarded the courtroom during their court-martial with the Locust getting closer and closer as the trial went on. At one point, the Locust broke into the courtroom and killed several Onyx Guard before they were repelled. Before Loomis could announce his verdict, the Locust attacked in force, slaughtering many of the Gears while the rest fled. After the Battle of the Plaza, more Onyx Guard soldiers joined Loomis when he executed Karn and confronted Kilo Squad. In 17 A.E., a dead Onyx Guard was in Paduk's hideout behind a car with some people who committed suicide to avoid becoming Formers. During the Evacuation of Ilima in 9 A.E., the Locust attacked the city, led by General RAAM to gain a foothold for an attack on Ephyra. Upon learning of this, Chairman Richard Prescott ordered the Onyx Guard to deploy into the city to try and kill RAAM. After learning that the Onyx Guard was coming, Zeta-Six noted the strangeness of the Onyx Guard being sent in to help an evacuation. Members of the Onyx Guard located RAAM and his bodyguards protecting a Tremor. Dozens of Onyx Guard Gears dropped in around RAAM from the surrounding buildings and a King Raven, including two in Silverbacks. However, they were all slaughtered by RAAM and his bodyguards and were unable to prevent another Seeder from being summoned. Other Onyx Guards engaged the Locust throughout the city. After learning of the Locust assault on Ephyra, Cpt. Paul Dury along with a team of Onyx Guards, went to Haldane Hall to pick up Professor Adam Fenix, when they arrived at the scene they found Adam buried in some rubble, Paul Dury ordered some of his men to retrieve him and ordered Jerge to inspect the house for any vital information regarding Adam's research and told him to make sure he checked the basement, which housed a secret laboratory. After the mission to Haldane Hall, Adam was injected with a sedative and taken to Azura. The Onyx Guard were responsible for the defense of Azura during the Locust attack. Despite their best efforts, the remaining Onyx Guards were slaughtered, and the island fell to the control of the Locust. Some of the survivors were scattered. Cpl. Rivera and Lowe, two Gears that took part in the defense of Azura, were assigned to protect Chairman Richard Prescott while on Vectes. Originally called the "Onyx Guard rejects" by Damon Baird, they later joined the Onyx Guard by the time of the attack. Rivera and Lowe were ordered to accompany Prescott as he fled the island in search of Colonel Victor Hoffman and help. Cpl. Rivera and Lowe arrived on the CNV Sovereign with Prescott just as the Lambent began to attack. As the attack intensified, they remained in Captain Quentin Michaelson's office with Prescott and Michaelson. The office itself eventually came under Lambent attack and though Delta Squad rescued Prescott, Michaelson, Rivera and Lowe were all killed.
UIR Army: As a military superpower, the Army of the UIR was known to field large fleets of armored and infantry personnel. The UIR's most iconic and widespread vehicle utilized by the army were the Pariah main-battle tanks, of which hundreds of thousands were produced to invade, occupy or counterattaack neutral or COG-aligned states during the Pendulum Wars. Likewise, the infantry of the UIR unlike conventional COG Gears, were known to specialize in unconventional warfare such as guerilla tactics, espionage and subterfuge. Since the UIR was far more decentralized in structure compared to the COG, military equipment and weapons used by Indies varied from their respective region within the member-states of the UIR. Some within the army, used captured/copied armor from the COG (only repainted black to differentiate), others are scavenged from different military equipment from different states, however, the most utilized and well known is the standard-issue UIR infantry armor with its distinctive skull-like helmet. The army also had different branches that trained Indies in certain specialized tasks. The most infamous of which, were the training of the UIR Elite, which was the UIR Army's answer to the Coalition's Onyx Guards. The Elites were the strongest, most capable and deadly of the UIR and was extensively trained to counter COG special forces. On the other hand, the UIR Sandswept was a branch that produce Sandswept Troopers and are dedicated in fighting opponents in desert or extreme dry/heat environments. The army was painted a light green with red and orange highlights in contrast to the silver and blue highlights used by the COG.
UIR Navy: The Navy of the UIR was known to be formidable enough to be an equal match to the COG Navy. What is known is that the navy from the UIR was adapt at utilizing its civilian Merchant fleets and weaponizing it for geopolitical gains. This civilian-military integration has made the UIR Navy feared by Coalition High Command due to the dual-use application that many of the Indie Merchant fleet presents itself. Ships such as RNV Borascu were known to ferry stolen COG technology such as the Silverback for research and development purposes.[42] It is for this reason that maritime security during the Pendulum Wars have been heightened to the point that Freedom of Navigation is non-existent. As such, civilian ships from either side such as Imulsion Tankers were targets during the Pendulum Wars. On the other hand, like the Army, the Indie Navy was diverse and decentralized in terms of ship/model procurement and production. The tactics used by the UIR Navy ranged from the conventional (large surface combat ships and underwater submarines) to the unconventional (fleet of suicide midget subs). Of all the member-states however, the UIR Navy was mainly comprised with vessels within the Gorasni Navy.
UIR Air Force: Little is known about the UIR Air Force. However, it is assumed that, like the Coalition of Ordered Governments Air Corps, the Union of Independent Republics Air Force comprised mainly on the production and utilization of Indie rotorcrafts such as the Khimera attack helicopter gunship and the UIR Transport Helicopter. These rotorcrafts in turn, would be lended out to other military service branches of the Union such as the UIR Army or as naval anti-submarine assets for the UIR Navy. The Air Force itself had its own sub-branches of military services, the most notable being the UIR Space Program.
UIR Space Program: The UIR Space Program falls directly under the full command of the UIR Air Force. This aerospace agency is responsible for the development, advancement and militarization of the Union's space ambitions. As the majority of the operatives in this sub-branch are former pilots of the Air Force, it is no wonder that sites like the Cosmonaut Training Facility is aimed at retraining former pilots for environments in space. The Space Program of the Union is noted to be far more advance than that of the COG. Launch sites such as OZP-11 in the occupied territory of Vasgar were known to develop advance UIR hard-suits for Cosmonauts to better handle the vast vacuum of space. More importantly however, it is the UIR Space Program that was the chief procurer in the Hammer of Dawn program. At the height of the Pendulum Wars, the UIR developed Hammer of Dawn targeting beacons in which the three UIR Hammer of Dawn Satellites could accurately fire in a regional area.
The Destruction of Halvo Bay: The Destruction of Halvo Bay took place six weeks after Emergence Day and was one of the largest battles to occur during the early years of the Locust War. Thousands of Gears and Onyx Guard troops began mobilizing across Halvo Bay to defend the city and help evacuate civilians. Defensive lines were set up at notable military locations, such as the Museum of Military Glory, Onyx Point, Halvo Bay Military Academy and Endeavor Naval Shipyard. Evacuation centers were set up across the city, including one at Halvo Bay airport. Originally, Brigadier General D. Rovik was in charge of the COG military forces in Halvo Bay and supervising the evacuation of the civilian population, but at some time during the early parts of the battle, he was killed. Command was assigned to Colonel Ezra P. Loomis. As the battle continued, General Karn, who just returned from his victory in the Republic of Gorasnaya, ordered an attack on the city's airport to disrupt the evacuation process and to spread the COG's forces thin. Onyx Point, the Onyx Guard Military Academy and the Endeavor Naval Shipyard were also attacked, and all fell to the Horde.
Enactment of the Fortification Act: Many of the COG's member nations had fallen to the Horde, with the main political leaders killed off by the Locust. Suddenly, Chairman Dalyell died of a heart attack, which left Richard Prescott elected as Chairman by the Council of Sovereigns. Prescott had begun to contact the remaining leaders of the COG member nations who were still alive, asking them to help him in an attack on the main Locust holes in Tyrus. All of the political leaders had denied his request with the exception of the leaders of the South Islands. Due to these circumstances, Chairman Richard Prescott saw only one solution: a combination of a scorched-earth and asset-denial strategy using the Hammer of Dawn orbital-based satellite array to deny the Locust total victory, and a declaration of martial law through the Fortification Act to organize and rebuild what was left of humanity. On the 30th day of Bloom, one year after the E-Day attack, the Council of Sovereigns passed the Fortification Act, which was highly popular (in COG controlled areas) but limited personal freedoms, levied all able-bodied men into the military, and rationed all food supplies. It also allowed the COG Department of Conscription handle all former Stranded and turned them into conscripts. Women that couldn't give birth were placed in either non-combat positions such as pilots, medics or Control operators, or took part in "war work" by working in factories and hospitals. The majority of the women who could give birth entered "breeding farms" and received extra rations for doing their part in repopulating the human race. The COG leaders also ordered the evacuation of all survivors towards the Jacinto Plateau, a safe haven from the Locust Horde who could not penetrate it as easily from below due to a base of thick, solid granite. The survivors had three days to get to the Jacinto Plateau, and then the COG would deploy the Hammer of Dawn, a system of orbital-based satellite laser weapons.
Hammer of Dawn Strikes: The orbital-based satellite laser weapons known as the Hammer of Dawn were deployed and fired all over Sera, burning away all Locust occupied areas—and the unfortunate civilians who were unable to evacuate in the three days they were given to reach Jacinto. Humans stalled the E-Day invasion, but at a terrible cost. Nearly 90% of Sera's surface was left a barren wasteland while the Locust, secure in their subterranean cavern homes, survived. The war would continue for over 15 long and bloody years. The actions of the COG on E-Day would forever brand them Fascists in the eyes of the Stranded.

Trauma's a bitch, and he just doesn't mind it) + (Joined the COG at 16) + (Never finished, nor went to high school) + (Had been seen on TV, a bunch of times - on the news, mostly - with him being seen killing Locusts, either through captured footage - where he's sometimes seen shirtless and not wearing his torso armor a couple of times - or a bodycam - due to the COG wanting him to have captured footage of him killing what he's fighting against - for some COG propaganda, and a few other things) + (Did have a camera - that wasn't on his person - catch a scene of Mylo - who was turning eighteen at the time - defeating a Kantus commander - named Talgar, who was as fast as him - with brutal, inhumanly fast martial arts, dueling battle against one another between pistols, knives, fists & kicks, and brawled-out martial arts - before pulling out his lancer from behind his torso armor's back, and created a huge gash - that tore through armor, and nearly most of Commander Talgar skin - in the form of an "X", on Commander Talgar - to which the captured film was used for COG propaganda) + (Has a bit of a phobia of big cities, after his and his older brother's parents died in a major earthquake in Kalona - during E-Day, and that his older brother was the only one to have seen their parents die at first hand) + (May or may not have stolen a pair of Onyx Guard gloves, and an Onyx Guard helmet - that all have the same color scheme as his armor - that he'd once stolen and never told anybody) + (A complete top in sex - and always is) + (He's always kept himself clean and professional - in most ways - he'd later always have his crotch area - mainly his large cock and balls - steam up a bit, and smell just a bit musky - in a good, manly way - but never dirty, and still looks clean, despite the unforgivably manly, slightly - but perfectly - musky aroma, that would act like an irresistible pheromone, that always make extremely voluptuous women to fall for) + (Had his member circumcised when he was born) + (Admittedly WAS a scrawny, and somewhat average-heighted kid, when he was in his freshmen year, until - later on over the years - after graduating, joined the COG, and then became what he is now) + (His big cock and balls always leave a perfectly big bulge in the crotch area of his boxers and pants) + (Extremely strong, agile, and durable - and has quite a LOT of stamina) + (Was born - like his older brother - with the ability to lift things hundreds-of-times his size, move a bit faster than any normal human, quick healing - by a few seconds with small wounds, and a few minutes with harsh wounds - and has semi-immortality, like his older brother - meaning he cannot age, at the youthful age of 28-to-30 - when their father - who was once a scientist for the COG, and worked alongside Adam Fenix - was once injected with a strange, glowing blue-colored serum) + (Knows martial arts, but is controllable with it, fast - extremely fast & ruthless - and acts more like such a master, while fighting with martial arts) + (When he cums... He cums like a Crazy Horse, cumming at about a gallon, or so, of his hot, milky, sticky potent cum, to which he'll cum so much, that it can stretch out a durable condom, that can fill up an entire bucket) + (His cum is always clean, pure white, hot, potent, and strong - and slightly thick, like eggnog) + (His sperm cells are about somewhat twice as big as a house mouse's sperm cell, bigger than any normal human male's sperm cell; guaranteeing strong, healthy pregnancy, for a female companion, TO WHICH, would also possibly, and permanently, "enhance" the female's body, to a hyperdeveloped, overly voluptuous body - with their height being a little taller than Micky, have large, beachball-sized, milk-filled tits, wider, birthing hips, huge, phat, beachball-sized ass, and overly, yet perfectly shaped, thick thighs - in a drastic two-and-a-half weeks, WHILE having a "baby factory" - whenever they're currently pregnant, or have gotten pregnant again - in their bellies, as the birthing development would take nearly six months, instead of nine months) Backstory: (His mother and father died, in an extremely bad earthquake in Kalona - as it was under attack by the Locust emerging from the ground, during E-Day - before him and his older brother, Micky, had joined the COG, becoming Gears, and get promoted to a Corporal - Mylo - and a Sergeant - Micky - before going back to Kalona, and do what they're ordered to do; kill Grubs, support Gears, and save people)

It's been days, months, years, since the Locust attacked merely every human on the surface of Sera. And now, stands a war-torn city between the Locust and the COG, from one side of the city. But from the other side, are two very, very, VERY, special brothers, side by side - named Mylo, and Michael, the Prenderghast brothers, at such ages - heading towards where Delta Squad - Marcus Phenox, Domanic Santiago, Agustus Coal, and Damon Baird - are located, about a mile away through the city, from their location.
One of them - the younger brother, Mylo - still holds the Prototype Mk2 Lancer; the guns he's been loving so much, when tearing through Grubs. But the other - the older brother, Micheal - still holds the Mk1 Lancer; keeping it traditional for himself, as once their father, and their father, and THEIR father, had used during the Pendulum War.
Feeling bored that there aren't any Locust Grubs around to kill, Mylo sighs under his breath before hopping a few steps away from his older brother, before resting his Mk2 Lancer over his shoulders, and walks backwards, as he looks back at his older brother, smirking, before talking to Michael, with a raised brow and a smirk on his face. "You ever think we're gonna get some drinks and hot chicks - or dudes, take your pick - after this, and our three-day-break, Micky..?~"
Michael couldn't help but scoff under his breath & smirk after hearing their younger brother say such things before he playfully mocks Mylo. "Ever NOT think of booze & potential sex, lil' bro?" He says to Mylo before picking up the pace and ruffle his younger brother's heir for a moment, with his left hand, and starts walking ahead of Mylo again. Only for Mylo to snicker under his breath before turning around, lowering his Mk2 Lancer, now holding it in both hands, and catches up to walk alongside Micheal's left side again, both of them playfully butting shoulders for a moment before the continued to head towards where Delta was located.
