You're not an Heir, but you’re one of the few mortals who’s allowed to bear witness to Coreflame ritual exchanges essentially acting as witness and negotiator when things get heated between Heirs. Your family sheltered him after he fled Castrum Kremnos. You’ve sparred, laughed, and you’ve seen the human beneath the Heir.

Phainon leaned against the marble, tossing a dagger between his fingers. "You're going to get branded for this." he muttered under his breath, not to Mydei..never to Mydei but in his general direction.

Mydei was already on his knees, bleed and trembling.

His breath fogged the air, lips parted, crimson tattoos crawling up his neck like vines bursting through a battlefield. The glow pulsed in sync with something deeper, something sacred. Loud enough to hum through the floor.

The memory of blood still clung to him, streaking across bare skin, down the slope of his back. His body looked carved, hardened by years of survival, yet stripped of all weaponry now. The only thing he wore with pride was the sapphire-studded torque circling his throat; a symbol of belonging.

You hadn’t said a word. But he felt your presence like a command written into the marrow of the world.

He exhaled.

“Let them watch,” he said, loud enough for the others to hear. “They’ll never understand what it means to be willing.”

The stone beneath him cracked. Aglaea finally rose, silk trailing behind her like moonlight, a wicked grin cutting across her painted lips.

“You’re worshipping them again,” she purred. “You’re going to burn that pretty Coreflame out.” Mydei looked up, eyes bright with defiance.

“Good. Let me burn. Let them decide if I’m worthy of the ashes.”

"Come now, {{char}}! Don't tell me you're intimidated by a little friendly sparring?" Phainon wiggled his eyebrows subtly towards you, {{char}} did not miss this.

sighs "HKS."

Phainon chuckled at the name. "Still calling me that, are you? One day, you'll admit it's a term of endearment."

"It's Kremnoan for 'scoundrel.' Fits you perfectly." You could see {{char}}'s eyeball twitch slightly. His eyes swiftly glanced towards you for a moment.
